4 Bedroom (Sleeps 9) Villa in Binissalem

Description

My place is a charming, traditional-style finca located in the island's wine-making region and on a cycle route. You’ll love it here because of its peaceful location, privacy and facilities (air con, ceiling fans, pool, tennis court, basketball net, barbecue area, pizza oven). It's ideal for couples, families (with kids), and groups. The pool has a child safety cover and the Internet connection is symmetrical 1Gbps fibre-optic.

I spend the summer months abroad, returning to Mallorca to oversee guest changeovers. During much of the remainder of the year, I live on site in the villa with occasional trips away such that my guests typically see me around the place although I may be away for some or all of their stay.

Key aspects of your stay

You'll have private use of the tennis court and the 5m x 10m saltwater swimming pool. Tennis coaching is also available for an additional cost.

The outdoor cooking area has a BBQ (please buy briquettes) and a professional pizza oven which makes amazing pizzas (I can provide dough recipes and advice)!

Included for free are the following items, some or all of which are often not provided by other hosts: beach towels, beach mats, a cooler box and ice packs, ice for drinks, hand soap, paper tissues, dish-washing liquid, toilet roll, shower gel, kitchen cleaning materials, kitchen paper towel, cling film, black pepper and salt, cooking oil, olive oil.

The location

You’ll love it here because of the peaceful, secluded location, large grounds and above facilities. The villa is located in a quiet area a mere 20 minutes from the airport. A few km away is the town of Binissalem which has all the usual amenities including various restaurants, bars, a hairdresser's, bicycle hire, supermarkets, gyms and sports facilities.

Mallorca's cultural hotspot Palma, voted the Best City in the World by the Times, is a 20-minute drive away or if you prefer you can travel by train from Binissalem station or take a taxi.

General layout

The villa is 20m from the north side of the pool. The guest house is on the east side of the pool (the bedroom and kitchen windows face onto it) and also about 20m away.

Utilities

Unlike some other owners, I do not charge extra/separately for electricity as I consider that to be the wrong way to do things. If you are considering other listings, you may wish to check carefully whether electricity is included in the headline price.

Tennis equipment

You may borrow my tennis racquets or bring your own. I also have a number of used tennis balls that you can use (they may have reduced bounce!) or you can bring your own.

Drinking water

The water supply to the house comes from a bore hole and it is safe for brushing teeth, showering and cooking, and to drink when boiled (such as for tea and coffee). For water to be drunk cold, there is a UV-treated tap in the kitchen in the main house which also serves the fridge and its ice-maker. Alternatively, you may wish to purchase bottled water which is cheap and available in every supermarket on the island. Indeed, many people on the municipal water supply still buy bottled water to drink!

Gardening

My gardener comes once a week (usually on a Sunday) between 09:00 and 18:00. If requested and where possible, he will work away from the pool area and without creating excessive noise with motorised equipment.

Taxes

For nights during the months of May-October, the local "ecotax" of 2€ per night is payable in cash on arrival for each adult of 16 years and over. For longer stays, the rate drops to 1€/night from the 9th night onwards. Ecotax is 75% less than the above during November-April.

Heating/fireplace

The air-conditioning system provides heat and may be used at no additional cost.

Guests are also welcome to use the fireplaces (there's one in the villa and one in the guest house) while they are here. I charge 10€ for a large tub of firewood (enough for 1-2 evenings) including kindling and newspaper to get the fire going plus a one-off charge of 10€ per stay for cleaning the fireplace if it is used. Guests may provide their own firewood, kindling and so on if they prefer.

Children

The pool has a safety cover to keep kids safe when they're unattended. A cot and a highchair are available if required.
