Description
The villa 'Casa Jara' is a beautiful holiday home in Calonge and is the ideal accommodation for a relaxing holiday .
The villa is privately situated behind a wall and tall hedge in a beautiful 1500 sqm. garden with palms, olive and fruit trees. The highlight of this accommodation is its private outdoor area with a pool (11x6 metres), a wonderfull garden for children, garden furniture, a barbecue and an outdoor shower.
An automatic watering system keeps flowers and grass always green and fresh. The garden is the perfect place to take in the views over Calonge and dine outside with your loved ones.
There are two terraces, one covered on the ground floor and one on the first floor covering the south façade of the house. The bedrooms and the living room enters onto these terraces.
Located in a quiet neighbourhood with mostly permanent residents, the 2-storey villa consists of a living room, a very well-equipped kitchen, 4 bedrooms (with Scandinavian-sized beds)
bedroom 1 has 1 king size bed.(180x200)
Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds.(90X200)
Bedroom 3 has 1 king size bed.
Bedroom 4 has 1 kingsize bed.
2 bathrooms as well as an additional toilet and can therefore accommodate 8 people pluss a baby
One bathroom is an en-suite with a shower, on the first floor, and one on the ground floor with a shower. The guest toilet is also on the first floor.
The living room is combined with the dining room, 47sq.m. The kitchen has a small eating area.
Additional amenities include Wi-Fi suitable for video calls, fans, washing machine as well as TV.
Furthermore, a table tennis table is available together with an ellipse trainer.. Equipment for baby ;cot, high chair, pushchair etc.is also available
The property has step-free access.
Free parking for 2 cars is available on the property.
Air conditioning is currently not available, but there are fans for all rooms
Wi-Fi is suitable for video calls.
Towels+ bedclothes are available for an extra fee of €25.00 per person per stay.

The area includes numerous things to experience. And just to mention a few, you have at a distance of a five-minute drive, the opportunity to choose from blue flag sandy beaches or cliffs with small sandy bays and clear blue water.
*Golf enthusiasts have (just mentioning two) a beautiful 18 hole course 10 minutes away at Playa de Aró, Mas Nou. And the 18 hole PGA Golf de Catalan course at Caldes de Malavella , 30 minutes away.
*Palamos – charming nearby town with market, harbour etc. Playa d`Aro – shopping, nightclubs, amusement, and waterpark. Pals and Begur are other medieval cities nearby. Calella de Parafrugell and Tossa de Mar are picturesque villages by the sea.
The painter Dalí is represented three places in the area: Figueres, Pubol and Cadaques. And not to forget the exciting city Barcelona, one hour drive on the motorway.

The villa itself is really well equipped; with spacious living areas, a balcony with delightful views of the sea, and a perfectly sized swimming pool. We walked into the village a few times, which has a nice park for the kids, a couple of tasty patisseries, and the old castle and clock tower. The main beach is a short drive, but we also discovered a few other smaller beaches within a 15 minute drive. Our favourite was in La Fosca, which was a beautiful beach with a shallow shoreline (perfect for our children). There is plenty to explore in the local area. Our highlights were the medieval village of Pals, a boat trip from Lloret de Mar, and we also spent a wonderful day in Barcelona (getting the train from Girona, which was super easy). We would highly recommend this villa

A great place to stay
By Nat on 17-Aug-2024We stayed at this villa with our teenage kids and my parents. There was lots of space for us all. The villa had all the facilities we needed. The pool was large which was superb! The views for the balcony are amazing. The town of Calonge is nearby so all shopping was accessible. Local restaurants were good too. We all had such a great relaxing time, we would recommend and would stay again.

Lovely villa in a quiet location
By Pockett Family on 21-Jul-2024The booking process and communication with Ann and Joan was excellent. Upon arrival, the five of us (two adults and three children) were warmly greeted by the local agent Joan, who always replied promptly with any queries we had during our stay. The villa, in a quiet residential area, has an upside down layout to make the most of the wonderful views, with three of the four comfortable bedrooms upstairs, leaving one bedroom, bathroom and garage downstairs. Electric gates and electric garage door make arriving/leaving the property easy. Great to have a garage to keep the car cool, which we moved onto the drive when playing table tennis. As this is a family home, it's very well equipped with plenty of glasses, crockery, cookware etc along with comfortable sofas and outside seating with cushions. A Fridge/Freezer in the kitchen upstairs and an additional large fridge in the garage, which was great to keep all the drinks cold. The well maintained gardens are beautiful and provide some shady areas near the pool at anytime of the day. The pool is a great size for a proper swim. We had a mini heatwave of 39 degrees for a couple of days, which did make a couple of nights a bit warm, but the ceiling fans just about kept us cool enough. The bedroom downstairs tends to be fresher. It's about a 10 minute walk down to the historic old town of Calonge, which has bars and restaurants and a traffic-free centre. The large Pijoan supermarket is great with a good wine selection, fresh bread, meat / cheese counter, all of great quality. La Fosca beach with easy access is perfect for young children and the older generation and Castell beach is lovely in more natural surroundings; both beaches a 10-15 minute drive away. Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay at the end of July 2024 and hope to return.

Beautiful villa
By Murray family on 29-Jul-2023The villa was spacious, well equipped and it was lovely sitting out on the upper terrace to eat. It also had a great size pool and garden. It was only a 10 minute walk into Calonge so easy access to the spar supermarket and a few local restaurants. I'd strongly recommend hiring a car though to get to various local beaches (we particularly liked Playa El Castell) and explore the local area. We did lots of activities available locally such as kayaking trips, bike hire, etc and we also had a great day at the nearby water park. Joan was there when we arrived to show us around, and was also quick to sort out the internet when that stopped working during our stay. However, although we had a fantastic holiday and the villa was pretty much perfect for our needs, there were a few things that could have been improved. The pool was a bit cloudy when we arrived and this suddenly got much worse in the last 2 days of our stay - we should probably have mentioned it earlier but assumed it was normal as the pool cleaners came twice a week and didn't seem concerned. Secondly, given the price of the villa I'd have expected a cleaner to come once a week, but this wasn't the case. Finally, it would have been nice if the beds had been set up as doubles (as advertised) rather than left as 2 single beds because the room was only being occupied by one person, and if the beds had been made up before our arrival rather than us having to make them. In the case of the double rooms occupied by 1 person, we were only provided with bedding for one of the singles. I appreciate they weren't sure of our preferred sleeping arrangements but they could have easily checked this in advance. But those relatively minor niggles aside, it's a great villa with a lovely big pool and I'd definitely recommend it. Thank you!

Dear family Murray . I’m glad that you had an overall positive experience staying with us. We’ve had a word with the pool cleaner in charge and told him to be more alert to conditions like you experienced. I’m sorry about this. Concerning beds and weekly cleaning you will find the bedrooms as they are explained in the advertisement…one with two single beds. The only cleaning mentioned is the final cleaning. And sorry for this late reply..I noticed it when going through the website. Best regards
A quiet and relaxing Villa with big pool and garden a short walk from Calonge, a beautiful Medieval village.
By Clare on 29-Aug-2023The villa is as described - 4 bedroom (with comfy beds!!!), 2 bathrooms (with decent showers), very well equipped (even had a sarny toaster), airy, home from home, with beautiful views over Calonge and to the sea. The large pool was set in a mature garden, with fruit and olive trees. Its a great location for exploring the Costa Brava and only 30 minutes from Girona airport. All correspondence with Ann (the owner) and Joan (the property manager) was detailed, timely and friendly. We were a party of 6, four adults and two teenagers - spread across 3 generations for which we all enjoyed a fabulous holiday at Casa Jara. We hope to return at some stage to continue our adventure along the costa brava! Thank-you for sharing your beautiful home Ann and Arne.

A lovely located Summer house
By Family Bastiaanse on 12-Aug-2023On arrival we were disappointed by the condition of the water in the swimming pool but within a day or two the problem was solved and we then could enjoy this gorgeous pool. The location and house itself has many of the ingredients for a lovely Summer house. The living area and the balcony was our favourite space ,as the view is lovely. All in all it is an enchanting and thoroughly comfortable house.
