Our villa accommodation is well laid out with the front door opening from the terrace into the downstairs lounge that leads onto the large kitchen that leads out to the barbecue terrace with outdoor kitchen and gas barbecue. There are 2 downstairs twin bedded rooms with air conditioning and ensuite shower rooms also a downstairs cloakroom. The upstairs is fully air conditioned with the spacious master bedroom and ensuite bathroom with separate shower and adjoining lounge leading out to the balcony with views across the countryside.Outside are large shaded terraces for seating, sunbathing, barbecuing and enjoying the mediterranean garden and wildlife. The swimming pool is 10m x 4m, perfect for lengths and shallow steps at one end. The pool is not fenced and children must be supervised near the pool at all times.
It is situated in a quiet cul de sac overlooked by one of the oldest of the talaiots, the Talaiot de Trebeluger. It is a 15 minute drive from the airport and Mahon with its beautiful port full of yachts, restaurants and boutiques. Our villa is equidistance between the little town of Sant LLuis and Es Castell with its pretty harbours.
There are sandy beaches within a short drive at Binibeca, Punta Prima and Alcaufar. Tennis, horse riding, sailing, scuba diving, windsurfing and cricket are all to be found within a few miles as well as the Splash waterpark at Binisafau.
Much of the island is now protected as a UNESCO 'Reserva de la Biosfera' which makes it a favourite for walkers, cyclists, horse riders, birdwatchers and wild flower enthusiasts, especially in the spring. Archaeologists are catered for too with numerous sites to visit.
The new Hauser and Wirth Gallery opened in July 2021 on the Isla del Rey in the middle of Mahon harbour with its art gallery and cafe to huge acclaim.
In St Lluis, built by the French in the late 1750s, is a butchers, chicken and fish shop as well as small supermarkets and bakeries, restaurants and the wine estate of Biniafadet. Es Castell in the other direction, has a lively picturesque harbour which is pedestrian free making it popular with young families.
There are a number of large supermarkets, Eroski is a 5 minutes drive from the villa and Lidl is on the road from the airport to Sant LLuis.
We are able to give you recommendations for restaurants, walks inland and along the Cami de Cavalls which now encircles the whole island, activities and places to visit.
We strongly recommend hiring a car to be able to discover this beautiful island

Leave ReviewRelaxing stay in a peaceful setting
By Juliet Thompson on 18-Aug-2023We had a relaxing holiday in this lovely house. The location is very peaceful and private with plenty of shade and a good-sized pool. The house is well-equipped with plenty of kitchen equipment and comfortable beds. Good aircon in the upstairs lounge and bedrooms. Communication with Sally was excellent, and she was most helpful in giving advice and information in advance of our stay about areas to visit. The local agent was also responsive and a pleasure to deal with.

Brilliant

Beautiful villa, great location, fab pool, hard to beat this
By Guy D. on 13-Sep-2017We loved this villa. The photos are very nice - hence the reason we booked it in the first place - but the reality of the villa is even nicer! The pool is great, long, warm and well-positioned. The villa is very well equipped, clean, modern and nice. The upstairs suite is nice, as is the balcony in the evenings. The real treat however was the table and BarBQ area - really beautiful and much bigger than you get a sense of in the photos. Gardens are lovely. Owner was friendly, quick to respond and very helpful. We stayed there in August with two kids. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Great!
Fantastic villa with great pool and pretty gardens.
By Catherine S. on 23-Sep-2016We had a fantastic relaxing 2 weeks here with our 3 children aged 10 and 13. The house has everything you could need. Lovely kitchen and BBQ area and the outside eating area is great. The pool is very large and set in pretty gardens (with the odd wild tortoise!). It is in a quiet residential area and within 15 mins drive of some beautiful coves great for swimming in the clear water, jumping off the rocks and just relaxing. It was an easy drive all over the island to do watersports and horse riding. Great to have the Internet TV so we didn't miss all the Olympics.
Peaceful, spacious and relaxing
By Anonymous on 21-Aug-2015Very well equipped for our stay. We had 2 young children with us and the house suited very well. It was particularly hot this week (36c) and the ground floor is not covered by the a/c and this is the only slight negative
Beautiful
By Barbara farmer on 01-Sep-2014I'm a little late with this review but felt I should really put something on. What a beautiful, peaceful villa. The gardens are lovely and there were some really nice walks along the country lanes. Would recommend a car though. Owner very helpful with directions, supermarket location and keys arrived in plenty of time. Would suit all age groups and families.
