Overview
Description
Welcome to Casa Aguila, S'AlbuferaCasa Aguila is a spacious, split-level villa on a large plot within Menorca's "S'Albufera Parc Natural". It has superb views across open countryside to a bird sanctuary lake and to the sea. There are unspoilt beaches about a mile from the villa, which has its own 8m private swimming pool. S'Albufera is a select, low-density development set in beautiful countryside in part of the Parc Natural about 5 miles north of Mahon (Mao), the capital of Menorca. There are bars and restaurants in the nearby picturesque fishing village of Es Grau.
Es Grau bay, with its sandy beach and shallow water, is ideal for children. Sand dunes and pine woods, full of singing nightingales and migrant birds in spring and autumn, separate the beach from the Albufera. Rocks along the shore of the bay provide opportunities for snorkelling. Windsurfing and kayaking are popular, as are the boat trips which can take you to yet more sandy beaches on the nearby Isle of Colom.
The villa is ideally situated for those seeking a Mediterranean holiday in unspoilt surroundings, away from the crowds, yet it is within easy reach of the local amenities. It will be especially appreciated by walkers, with the recently opened Cami de Cavalls - a coastal path around the entire Island - nearby. Also by birdwatchers - 97 species of birds have been seen from the villa, including 16 birds of prey. Find out more about the birdwatching in the area on our dedicated birdwatching page.
Because of the hillside location of Casa Aguila and the number of steps leading down to the villa, it is regretably unsuitable for those with mobility problems, and families with very young children.

Leave ReviewBeautiful views - lots of sitting areas
By Liz Haynes (party of 3) on 03-Jun-2025This is a lovely and characterful villa. It worked perfectly for a small group of friends - there were so many different places to sit! The favourite evening time place was the back terrace where we listened to the many birds in the area and watched the sunset. The pool was great and the villa is secluded. Access is via a very rough track which might be worth bearing in mind when booking a hire car. The location is very handy - close to Mahon and the neighbouring village of Es Grau is lovely. Downsides: there is obviously a knack with the lock box which caused some stress on arrival. The kitchen could do with a 'refresh' and some decent mugs! The welcome pack was very much appreciated though. I was in the single room with a robust and rustly mattress cover. The linen wasn't very nice and on closer inspection the pillows were stained. These are small issues in the scheme of things and can be so easily rectified. The main bedroom was lovely with lots of windows and its own terrace. I would thoroughly recommend this comfortable villa with amazing views. My companion has been coming for years and I can see why.
Casa Aguila
By Jaqui P et al on 21-Oct-2020v"We visited Casa Aguila for the second time in August 2019. We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens and a 12 year old) It is the perfect 'get away from it all' holiday. The villa has plenty of room and a nice pool. The scenery is just lovely, the peace and quiet is perfect and the star-gazing is just superb!! Menorca is the most beautiful and friendly island with something for everyone. We have already booked our family holiday at the villa for 2020 and can't wait to return." Jaqui P, August 2-9, 2019 "I just wanted to say a huge thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful villa. We had a fantastic holiday and lovely weather. Your villa was gorgeous with the best views I have ever seen! I saw the ferry crossing the bay a couple of times all lit up, was amazing. We saw the lovely barn owls while we were swimming..." Joanna Hodgson, July 10-16, 2019 "We spent a wonderful two weeks at Casa Aguila in 2017 and 2018 and we’re returning for our third visit in 2019. Casa Aguila is only 20 minutes from the airport and makes a great base for exploring the island. The lovely village of Es-Grau is only a few minutes away by car and there is a well-stocked small shop there along with a restaurant and bar. Booking and communicating with Peter, who owns the villa, was very easy and he was extremely helpful and accommodating. If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful villa to spend your Menorcan holiday Casa Aguila is the place." Charlie G, 2018 "Just thought I would send a short message of thanks for allowing us the use of your marvellous villa. We had a wonderful fortnight and had to drag ourselves away yesterday from those fantastic views. The villa was exactly what we had been looking for and I am sure that we would want to return at some point in the future." Tim, 2017
