The apartment

The complex and nearby
A real luxury - You can leave the apartment barefoot and be in the sea in minutes. Bliss.
The complex is right by the beautiful Blue Flag beach of La Cala which also has a very long and beautiful coastal boardwalk.
Beautiful landscaped gardens with shaded areas, pool, wheelchair friendly.
You do not have to rent a car to enjoy this apartment and resort. The beach, bars, restaurant and a mini supermarket are all within a very short walk of the apartment. There are regular buses to Marbella and Malaga.
The beach is fantastic. It is sandy, wide and spacious, because it is in a sheltered spot there is good bathing for kids.
The Chiringuito (nearest beach bar) is also really close, about 50 metres from the apartment, there are beds for hire and good food including locally caught fish and sardines barbequed on sticks.
The Town – 10 minute walk
La Cala de Mijas is an attractive, compact, low rise resort that retains a spanish flavour with lots of bars and quality restaurants, boutiques etc. It is located half way between Marbella and Malaga on the Costa del Sol, in Malaga, southern Spain. Within a few minutes walk of the apartment there are local shops and bars and restaurants, though these are generally quiet and family friendly so there is no noise problem. The attractive town square surrounds a castle tower, and there are fiesta and cultural events through the year. There is an old town area, and lots of restaurants, bars and shops and large supermarkets nearby.
Additional Information
The property sleeps 4 in comfort plus two adults or 4 kids on comfortable sofa beds in the lounge. It is available for a minimum stay of one week all year round.
The beach is sandy, wide and good bathing for kids.
Pool, beach, bars, restaurant and a mini supermarket are all right by the apartment. There are regular buses to Marbella and Malaga. Walking into town along the seafront or through the streets is pleasant and there are no busy roads to cross.
Right by the Senda Littoral - you can walk for miles uninterrupted along a beautiful purpose made coastal path.

By Juliet and Paul on 16-Apr-2025The location and position of this apartment is fabulous. The beach side of La Cala and in a terrific position a mere few paces from the glorious beach. In a great complex with lovely pool and attractive gardens (although the pool was not open the entire time of our stay which I was aware of being early in the season.) Everything you need, including some handy beach chairs, beach towels and a fully equipped and clean apartment. The sunloungers (with padded cushions) are a real bonus on the sunny SW facing terrace that's a great private suntrap. Easy to walk into the centre of town, easy for a multitude of restaurants close by and great for access onto the beachfront boardwalk. The little supermarket on the corner is also a real gem stocking the most amazing array of literally everything you need with a little deli and fresh meat counter, fruit and vegetables and all manner of food stocks including many British brands! Diane was extremelly helpful throughout the entire process. It's clearly a well loved apartment. Top apartment, so much so that we've also booked for next year.
Lovely Lovely

We had poor weather our last two days but we had Netflix etc if we needed to stay indoors. Kitchen has everything you need its not large but more than adequate and has all you would ever need. Good size bedrooms living room and a fantastic balcony with the best most comfortable loungers with lovely pool and sea views. We never used the pool as literally 2 minutes to the beach. Loved our walks followed the beach sidewalk to Calahonda 1 hour and have coffee and cake (or beer) Old town/village is on the doorstep 3/4 minutes but their are 2 excellent restaurants opposite and if you turn to the right exiting heading away from the old town tucked away there's a couple of restaurants that were amazing. This review may seem like a La Cala fan club but it's a great place. Last comment and so important. It's Diane ( cannot praise her enough) she organized transfers to and from the airport we were met by Jean on arrival who showed us around the apartment. Personally if feel this is so important as you want comfortable that everything is in place when you arrive
Fantastic apartment and location
By Alan Morrisoe on 23-May-2024Both my wife and I have used this apartment several times now. The booking was seamless, and nothing was too much trouble with our questions and requests. It was a pleasure to find an owner that was very accommodating, such as allowing us to get access to the apartment earlier than normal due to flight times. On arrival the apartment was always spotless with everything you could possibly need for a great holiday including air conditioning for those hot days. As for the location that could not be better in my view. Five minutes’ walk to the centre of La Cala, one minutes’ walk to the beach and bars. Also, a great little supermarket nearby that has everything you need. Best of all are the views from the balcony overlooking the pool and the sea I can sit there for hours some days with the sun always there throughout the day, as it is southwest facing. Once you get onto the beach front the walks along the beach on purpose build spotless decking is as good as it gets, you can walk for miles picking up little bars as you go making sure you do your daily ten thousand steps. We usually head to Max Beach for a bit of posh it can be expensive but worth it. I would recommend the Garden Bar as a stop over for lunch overlooking the sea too. As for restaurant and bars the apartment is right next door to El Olivo which is fantastic especially on a weekend when it has a singer who is very good. Just two-minute walk is the Simple Café, the best pint in the area and the cheapest at 3 euros also the tapas are superb. 45 euros for a ten-course tasting meal and wine for two. Unbelievable good value and quality. In la Cala these are my favourites that I would recommend: Pura Cepa a wine and gin bar always busy and excellent, El Gusto Italian, Konfusion what a great goulash, Both Indians are very good, but my absolute favourite is Cortijillo best in town in my view; a must every time we are there. There are many buses in town if you feel like venturing out you can easily get the Marbella, Fuengirola and Benalmadena where the harbour is a must visit. Both my wife and I will be having many holidays in La cala and this apartment. Alan Morrisroe
Most Excellent Location

We know the area of La Cala very well & have relatives living near by so this was an excellent location for us. The apartment was clean & well maintained. The added garage space was brilliant for us as we had hired a car for our stay. The balcony was lovely for sitting out in the day as a sun trap or in the evening, looking out over the sea. It was a short walk into the town & a stones throw from the beach. Beach chairs, brollys etc were provided. All in all a lovely apartment in the best location. We will definitively stay again.
Very Good appartment en Location
By Cassandra on 10-Jul-2011We just are back from a very good vacation, we stayed 11 days in the apartment and is clean and in good condition,balkony is very big and has a good view over the ocean and pool. Pool and Garden of the complex is very well maintained. good facilities and perfect location, couple of walks to the beach. Owners are very helpfull!!! A big recomandation!!! Perfect Apartment!
By tracey C on 03-Sep-2011We stayed at this apartment in September and it was absolutely beautiful. The apartment is well equipped with everything you need. Fantastic views from the balcony out to sea. The pool was relaxing and only a few minutes walk to the beach. The restaurant opposite Ol Livio has the most amazing food. We would recommend this apartment to anyone and hoping to return in the near future.
