'We absolutely love Tim and Sharon's villa. After quite a few stays, we now call it our home from home. The villa is so spacious, each bedroom is a good size, with huge amounts of wardrobe space, comfy beds and quality bathrooms. The kitchen is really well equipped with everything you could need. The saltwater pool is warm and great for your skin and the surrounding gardens are peaceful and beautiful. The views are spectacular..I could never tire of sitting on the veranda with a coffee, looking out towards the sea. There is a beautiful walk into town through a stunning olive grove. You can also access many other beautiful towns and beaches all within a ten minute car drive. Tim, Sharon and Holly are not only welcoming, friendly and informative hosts, they have become our friends with whom we really enjoy spending time with. I'm already looking forward to my next escape there!'
Spacious & beautifully decorated villa
By Jo & Paul on 15-Aug-2019
If we were ever going to buy a villa in the Algarve this would be what we are looking for. It is in a quiet location down a long,, narrow track in places but then opens up to huge enclosed grounds with a view of the sea in the distance.
The villa is spacious and beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. There is plenty of room outside to always find shade and a quiet spot but also areas where 8 can sit comfortably as a group.
Tim and Sharon are very welcoming and on hand to help if required.
We like this villa so much we have been back each year for the last 5 years and plan to go again.

We have been holidaying at Monte Calicos for several years, sometimes as a couple and some years with extended family joining us
The location is ideal, the villa immaculate and very comfortable, the heated pool amazing and the owners very lovely.
Each year we consider going somewhere new but Monte Calicos has it all and we end up returning as it ticks all the boxes for us. It makes for a very relaxing holiday.
There is a lovely walk into the village of Moncarapacho with Its shops, bars, restaurants , market etc and just a short drive takes you to the beaches..
We will undoubtedly be back!

An amazing villa - beautiful setting for a wonderful holiday!
Stayed Apr 2019
The villa is beautiful - spotlessly clean and so well equipped, we couldn’t have asked for more. The pool is perfect, and the solar heating meant we could use the pool everyday, even on cloudy days!
Sharon and Tim were extremely welcoming and generous hosts, meaning we could truly relax from the moment we arrived! Can’t wait to return!

Superb villa and pool!
By Peter Allen on 08-Oct-2018
We stayed for a fortnight and enjoyed every minute; the quality of the villa, the helpfulness of the owners, the warm and inviting swimming pool, the views and surroundings etc. Furthermore the villa is in a good location with easy access to the surrounding area and to Spain, but is in a nice, peaceful area. What more could you ask!

Wonderful home our stay was fabulous
Very nice villa with excellent swimming pool
By Pieter K on 05-May-2017
Sharon and Tim have created a beautiful place. We used the swimming pool even with lesser weather (the pool is heated). The villa is situated in a way that you have good privacy. Moncarapacho is a nice village with a lot of restaurants. The first thing you see when going there by foot (nice walk) is a bakery with excellent coffee and fresh bread)
We stayed there end of april 10 nights with my parents and my brother and his girlfriend. The weather variated from windy or cloudy towards excellent (sunny and hardly any wind).
Childern liked the pool the most. We recommand however to go to the nearby beaches and to Olhao.
Only improvement for us large Dutch are the relatively small beds (my father and brother are 2 meters)
Very beautiful villa in a very nice and quiet location.

Sharon and Tim are very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome from the first moment. Even though the first few days the weather wasn't really nice, we spent a great time there! We will surely recommend the villa and will try to come back. Thanks for everything!
Amazing villa in a stunning location.

We had such a fantastic fortnight in this beautiful villa. It was so well designed and equipped to a high standard - clean, comfortable and had everything we could hope for. Sharon and Tim were friendly and welcoming and so helpful. We all enjoyed the pool and the grounds - great bbq and lovely walks. The town is great and we enjoyed visiting a few of the beaches in the surrounding area. We would definitely return - it's a really special villa in a lovely part of the world.
Wonderful Monte Calicos

Can't say enough about this villa! It is peaceful, relaxing and just luxurious in every way! We were two families and it was ideal for us all as the villa has two separate wings on either side of the large communal kitchen/ lounge and dining room. So in the mornings we did not disturb each other. Each room has sliding doors onto the vernada which leads onto the pool area. As we went in early April we took advantage of the log burner in the evenings which made the villa lovely and cosy. We hit a heat wave after a few days so it was not used again, the grand barbeque was used to the max and we loved cooking all our fresh produce from the local markets and the meat a fish was soooooo cheap! The little town is quiet and untouched - it is a local's town and the prices of alcohol, food and the restaurants reflect that! We plan to return next May and can not wait! Thank you Sharon and Tim - it was a memory we'll share for a very long time! xx
Beautiful villa nestled in unspoiled countryside

Monte Calicos has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. The villa and the grounds are perfect. We arrived very late at night to a warm welcome from Tim and Sharon who were nearby if we needed any help or advice. We had a fantastic holiday, 2 weeks in paradise, we just couldn't fault anything. We will be back!

We had the most perfect week at Monte Calicos!
This was our 2nd stay and we loved it every bit as much as last year. We took friends along and they loved it too.
The villa is very well appointed and was spotless - it had everything we needed which made us feel very 'at home'.
We love to relax and this is certainly the place to do so - with spectacular panoramic views of the sea and hills. We had fab weather so we used the pool daily - in fact the kids were in there most of the day and into the evening as it was so warm.
We will definitely be making this a regular place to stay!

We had the best family holiday ever at Monte Calicos, August 2014. The villa is beautifully appointed with loads of communal space and a good-sized family pool. It has an open aspect with long distance views and a nice secluded feel.
We were a party of 8, including grandparents and children and the villa accommodated us all perfectly. The real winners for us were that the villa is all on one level, access to the pool is via steps, not ladders, which was fundamental for the grandparents. There are 3 uneven steps hewn from rock from the parking area to the villa, which could be tricky if you have mobility issues, but this can easily be overcome by bringing the car down the left-hand fork of the driveway right alongside the villa. Both the indoor and outdoor eating areas really do seat 8 people with individual chairs (so many 8-person villas only have 6-seater dining tables or include bench-style seating that grandparents just can’t negotiate). The kitchen is generously sized, well equipped and allows several food preparation activities to take place simultaneously – essential with a party of 8! Having been converted to salt-water pools on a previous holiday, this was the icing on the cake: if you have never tried one, don’t worry, it’s not like going in the sea!
Car hire is essential, the villa is located a little way out of Moncarapacho; the little Supermarket there had just about everything we needed in terms of daily provisions. We enjoyed some great BBQs at the villa twinned with some lovely meals out at various local eateries.
We enjoyed it so much we have broken our ‘never-repeat’ rule and booked again for next year! Can’t wait.
P.S. Don’t forget to put that mozzie spray on in the evening!
Thank you to Sharon, Tim and Holly for sharing your beautiful villa with us, best wishes from The Turner Family.

This was my second visit to Monte Calicos, having stayed in May 2013 as well. Monte Calicos is a beautiful villa. It is secluded and peaceful but not isolated. Sharon and Tim respond promptly to emails prior to arrival and the instructions on getting to the villa are clear and accurate.Every room was very clean and well maintained, the kitchen has just about every item you may possibly want or need. The pool is crystal clear and the solar heating makes it very inviting even for early morning and late evening dips. This is the only villa I have ever returned to. There is a comprehensive guide to the area in the villa, including restaurant information. I would recommend this villa to anyone seeking a quiet relaxing holiday although toddlers may find some of the steps a little difficult to negotiate.
Perfect villa, Lovely location.

Our 2 week stay at Monte Calicos was fabulous. Having holidayed in the Eastern Algarve for the last 5 years we have to say that this is the most well equipped and situated villa we've ever stayed in; the amenities, the pool, gardens, bbq area, big shady verandas, and beautiful views made this a perfect place for us to stay. Everything was clean and well maintained. Tim & Sharon have thoughtfully equipped the kitchen, we did lots of cooking in our party of 8 and we had everything we needed. Great sound system too!
There are restaurants within walking distance in Moncarapacho or a short drive away, all are very reasonably priced and the food can not be faulted - Colibri and 'Maria's' were our favourites. There is a beach a short drive away at Fuseta and a 5 min boat ride to the island with its spectacular sandy beach - a favourite with the kids.
We also spent some lunchtimes at Villa Monte (golf / hotel 5 mins walk from villa) for cocktails and light lunch and kids enjoyed the pools there. We recommend the fish festival in Olhao which takes place in August and a visit to the local markets is quite an experience. We also loved Tavira - a beautiful riverside town, the road train takes quite a long time but tours all round the new and old parts of the town.
We can thoroughly recommend this fabulous villa and have booked to stay here again. Our thanks to Tim and Sharon who provided great customer service, answered all our questions and took care to ensure we all enjoyed our stay.

Thank you so much Sharon & Tim for our stay at your wonderful villa, it exceeded all of our expectations. The villa is very well designed and equipped. The gardens are really pretty and I loved the opportunity of being able to walk at leisure through the orchard over your extensive grounds.
The location is even better than you described and we loved the walk into Moncarapacho. The men went off golfing to several different courses which kept them happy! We enjoyed sitting by the pool and sampling the occassional glass of wine. The weather during our stay was great, we didnt see a cloud all week.
Thanks for the list of restaurants, we really enjoyed Colibri but Antonio's homemade pate really takes some beating
What a fantastic unspoilt area of the Eastern Algarve, We will be returning!
