The communication with Sharon and Tim from first enquiry to the end of our stay was superb. The information about the property, restaurants, places to visit that they provide is first class. They are really kind and warm-hearted people for whom nothing is too much trouble. The villa is immaculate and spacious with beautifully kept gardens. The kitchen is well equipped and there are great areas inside and out to relax in. The pool is wonderful; our grandchildren loved it. Being solar heated, the water temperature, even in April when we stayed, was between 28°C and 30°C. Sheer luxury. The location is terrific. It is so private with secluded grounds and distant seaviews. We loved hearing so much bird song and twice had beuatiful hoopoes in the garden. It is such a relaxing and tranquil place to stay. The local supermarkets are good but if you want a really big one, try the Continente in Tavira (Incidentally, one of our children is coeliac and another is vegan; it was easy to find food catering for their diets in the supermarkets). Parking in the roads near to it is also really good for walking into Tavira town.. If you like fish then I would recommend a visit to Olhao fish market, a short drive away, it's big and the fish is so fresh. The fish restaurant recommended by Tim and Sharon in Fuseta is amazing, we went there three times during our stay. Huge portions and delicious fresh caught fish. Don't miss it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so much so that we re-booked it for next year before we left. There is no better recommendation!
Winter Rental
By Scott on 01-Dec-2025We stayed in this lovely villa for 4 weeks oct/Nov. A party of 4 adults it is so comfortable and spacious 4 bedrooms all en-suite so no queuing for showers. A car is must as it's a little bit out of town for shopping and restaurants I did walk into the village through lovely lanes and part of the old roman road. Beautiful modern kitchen and dining area equipped with everything needed for preparing meals. But the best part of this lovely villa is sitting on the deck overlooking the pool feeling the morning sun on your body and having your first cup of coffee. Great quality wood burning stove in the lounge plus free logs for the darker winter evenings. The area is so peaceful no traffic noise only bird song the rock formation in the garden area is fascinating worn away by millions of years of erosion. Restaurants around there so many all great value but our favourite is Antonio's it never disappoints also Anna's in the square is very good. One suggestion from the ladies not a criticism maybe a hand rail for entering and exiting the pool for us golden oldies. So thanks again Sharon and Tim for having us and very much hope to return. Brilliant from start to finish

The villa was spotlessly maintained, and the four en-suite bedrooms gave us all our own space, which worked perfectly for our family group, including kids and grandparents. We loved the fantastic pool and garden, and really appreciated the well-equipped kitchen. The weather was perfect, and the barbecue got plenty of use! Communication from the hosts was faultless throughout—they provided some great restaurant recommendations and checked in with us to make sure everything was going well, which we really appreciated. The villa is tucked away in a peaceful spot, but getting around was easy with Ubers, which were always available and very reasonably priced. It’s also an easy walk into Moncarapacho, where there are a few shops and local amenities. We enjoyed visiting Fuseta, Praia do Barril, and Olhão, and we'd also recommend a tour of the nearby Monterosa olive grove as something a bit different to do. All in all, a perfect holiday spot. We’d definitely recommend it for a relaxing break and hope to return again soon.

From A to Z, from booking to check-out, everything was 100% perfect! Sharon and Tim are excellent hosts; we were very impressed by their warm friendliness, reliable and good communication, generosity, and the superb service. The villa is exactly as described, a dream! - spotlessly clean, modern, cozy and furnished to a very high standard. The large, beautiful garden, the terrace with a view, the heated pool, and the very quiet location invite you to enjoy yourself. We would like to sincerely thank Sharon & Tim for the unforgettable, wonderful, relaxing days with our mother. Our rating: 6 stars with highest recommendation. The villa was much larger than it appeared in the photos, spotlessly clean, and so thoughtfully designed. Everything we needed for a perfect holiday had already been considered — it felt like a real home away from home. A huge bonus was the heated pool, which was absolutely wonderful in late September. It made such a difference to our stay, and having now experienced it, this is something we’ll always look for when booking in Portugal in the future.The villa is around a 25-minute walk to the local village, where we found a lovely restaurant offering a menu of the day: bread, a main course, dessert, coffee, and even a drink (including half a litre of wine!) — all for just €11. The village square is beautiful, with the sound of the church bells adding to the charm, and the nearby beach is very safe for children, making it ideal for families. The hosts, Tim and Sharon, were fantastic. Their pre-arrival information made the whole process smooth and stress-free, and they were always on hand for any advice or local tips throughout our stay. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate — highly recommended!

By Yvonne on 07-Dec-2025We had the pleasure of spending the week at Monte Calicos in July 2025. There was 8 of us in total but the Villa still felt very spacious and had plenty of room for all us! The facilities were on point and there was nothing Sharon and Tim, the wonderful hosts hadn't thought of. We really made the most out of the villa, with lazy days round the pool and great food on the barbecue in the evening. The little town of Moncarapacho was an absolute hidden delight, truly authentic Portuguese living, it is beautiful and well worth a visit. Thank you Sharon and Tim for a beautiful holiday and we will be back!
