Perfect villa for our stay in October. The layout is lovely and we particularly enjoyed the heated pool, bbq area and upstairs terrace where we enjoyed each evening meal and a glass or 2 of Spanish wine! Great location with easy walking into Moraira, lovely beaches and excellent tapas. We’d definitely recommend! Thank you Mike and Sally for sharing Villa La Marina.
This lovely home from home is in the perfect location (for walking to both Moraira and El Portet) with wonderful sea views. Shaded eating areas, large pool for cooling off, a lovely kitchen for cooking in, and outside bbq for grilling. Really comfortable bedrooms and plenty of storage space. Despite the virus restrictions - face masks in built up streets and shops - we had a truly wonderful 10 days at the villa and were very, very reluctant to leave.
Great place. Amazing views. Could spend forever on that terrace. Unfortunately it was only a week. Can we come back soon???
Ben, Madrid Jun 2020
We flew in from Australia and two of our children flew in from London and Edinburgh with their families. Christmas Day was spent on the sun drenched terrace and in and out of the heated pool. We had great weather for our ten day stay. The house was perfect for us and we enjoyed the facilities and a well equipped kitchen. An easy 10 minute walk to the supermarket and the town. All our expectations were met. Thanks to Mike and Sally for their hospitality and hard work in creating a lovely space.
What a fabulous home from home - only with back-to-back sunshine and the most wonderful view. We're just back from an idyllic week in La Marina with our family and our great friends. The villa excelled our expectations - from the open plan kitchen/dining/living...to the lovely pool area. It was so well equipped and we felt it offered the right combination of luxury with homeliness. Thank you Sally and Mike - we would urge others to visit Moraira and experience La Marina for themselves. Such a fun week which will live long in our memories.
This was a perfect home for our two families in the lovely town of Moraira. Close to town and beaches, the location is ideal even if you don't have a car. The villa is spacious and thoughtfully laid out with four generous double rooms. The two master beds have their own en suite and the twin rooms share a good sized bathroom. The pool / patio area has everything; two well positioned palms for the sun shy, table tennis table for the kids, a good sized pool with toys and a fabulous bbq and lounging space to soak up the rays. All this and a stunning view will definitely bring us back.
Not our first time in Moraira, but our first time at La Marina, perfect location just 5 min walk to El Portet, 10 min walk to Moraira with all its restaurants and shops. The setting is fantastic with amazing views. The villa is beautifully decorated inside and out, it has a great pool, table tennis, lovely bbq area and terrace for eating with a great sea view, great welcome pack was also included. Bedrooms all very comfortable with air conditioning. It made for perfect base for our holiday and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a private and comfortable place to stay
Staying at Villa La Marina made our holiday. The setting is fantastic with amazing views and easy walking distance to El Portet beach and the centre of Moraira. The villa itself was extremely comfortable with everything we needed including a great welcome pack. The pool, which was lovely and warm (definitely worth paying for pool heating), was also a highlight and there was a lovely garden and terraces to relax in. We would highly recommend this accommodation and would definitely return.
This is a well-equipped, spacious villa in a great location. It is very comfortable with lots of different living areas and has some great sea views. It is located between El Portet beach and Moraira and both are easily accessible on foot. Sally and Mike were very helpful throughout and we would definitely return to both the location and the villa.
Our second trip staying at villa la Marina, and we have made more beautiful memories. The villa is wonderful, very well equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets from the terrace, as the view is simply stunning! Our children (1 and 7) loved the swimming pool as well as our daily walks to El Portet (lovely cove) for a swim and an ice cream! The town is lovely, and easy to walk to. Friendly, safe and chilled vibe. Cocktails on the roof terrace of the yacht club are a real treat (we had a rare child free moment)! We can't wait for our next stay-missing it already! X
As all have previously stated, La Marina is truly a lovely warm and cosy home from home! The villa has everything you could ask for and the view from the terrace at any time of day or night was beautiful. Having been to Moraira a few times now it is the first we have stayed in Pla Del Mar which i must say is great for both walking into Moraira and also into El Portet. Myself, my husband and 9 year old daughter stayed for 8 days over the holiday period. The weather was actually really lovely but having the pool heated was a great advantage as our daughter just loves the pool so that kept her well entertained! German, the manager, was only a phone call away and when we met him, he was very welcoming and attentive. La Marina is immaculately clean and well maintained and we would have no hesitation in returning or recommending the villa to friends and family. It was our first time in Moraira over the Christmas/New Year period so were not sure what to expect. We were booked in for a New Year Celebration at La Dauphin in El Portet which i have to say was absolutely fantastic, Bert and his staff were wonderful and if you want to celebrate something in style, that's the place to go! 'Bringing in the Bells' as we say in Scotland was wonderful over looking El Portet beach and watching all the fireworks was spectacular. Sincere thanks to Mike, Sally, German and Almu for making our holiday and New Year 2016 very memorable. Linda, Mark & Olivia (Glasgow)
Our holiday was booked to celebrate my 60th Birthday. I had the best birthday ever!! The villa was exactly as described, a true home away from home, with everything you would need for a perfect holiday. The villa was spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. Plenty of sun loungers and outdoor furniture, and the gardens really well kept. I cannot thank Sally and Mike enough, everything about the booking was dealt with promptly and efficiently, which made the holiday so relaxing, We had a visit from German, the managing agent and a very friendly man, just to make sure everything was ok, which of course, it was. He made sure we had his number in case we needed him. We didn't, but its reassuring to know that there is someone on hand if needed. He also popped in the day before we left to make sure that everything had been ok There were lovely views from the villa , over the marina and beyond with beautiful sunsets. An easy walk into town so no need to get the car out We would definitely recommend this villa and hopefully will return.. Ruth & Barry (Bristol)
The villa was exactly as the owners described a true home away from home. The owners Sally and Mike along with German and Almu the managing agents have catered for all of your needs. The villa has everything you need to enable you to fully relax and enjoy your stay from kitchen appliances/utensils, a great TV package and great outdoor recreation area. On our arrival a welcome pack was waiting for us with all the immediate essentials such as bread, cheese, water etc but also a bottle of FIZZ to help start the holiday, which we thought was very thoughtful. The pool area is great and having the heated pool allowed us to swim every day and enhanced our holiday experience. The villa was clean throughout, very spacious and tastefully decorated. The views are stunning over looking the Marina and Ifach allowing us to watch the amazing sun sets whist sat on the terrace enjoying a bottle of something. On the one occasion we had to contact German over a minor issue he responded promptly, we got the sense that nothing was to much trouble. Sally and Mike were great to deal with both very prompt and accommodating and the whole holiday was seem less.. Having been to Moraira 4 times now this is a villa we would return to and highly recommend, the location was great with a 10 minute stroll into town. Bridget & Dawn ( Cumbria )
We returned a few days ago from villa La Marina following a fabulous holiday. Just me and my husband staying but the villa has three bedrooms and two bathrooms on one floor and a separate bedroom with ensuite on a lower level so plenty of room for a much larger group. Its a beautiful house, very comfortable, a real home from home. The kitchen is lovely and has everything you need, the beds are comfy and bathrooms clean and bright. The views from the terrace are just wonderful looking over the lovely marina and out towards the Ifach rock at Calpe. You can walk to Moraira in a few minutes, its now my favourite town in Spain and there are beautiful stretches of coastline in the area with some lovely places to visit. We chose to pay for pool heating which worked brilliantly. Even in outside air temperatures of low single figures in the morning we managed to have at least one swim every day except one and never felt cold in the pool. (Getting out to dry off was a different matter, but what can you expect in February!) We met the property manager German while we were there and when we told him we liked to swim early in the morning he just shook his head and looked at us like we were crazy English people which made us smile. He is a very nice man who sorted out a problem for us with great concern and good grace. Our thanks to him and his wife Almu. I can't recommend this house enough, the position so close to town, the lovely interior and exterior and the ease of booking with Sally the owner. Our security deposit and balance of unused gas was back in our bank account the day after we arrived home. It would be very hard to find another villa in the area that has so much to offer, we hope very much to return sometime. Many thanks to Sally and Mike
Stayed February 2015
We have just returned from a week at Villa La Marina. We are a family of 8 ages ranging from 6 months to 65 years. The villa was plenty big enough for us all with lots of different spaces for us to enjoy. We had a wonderful week and found the villa to have everything you could need as well as many extras from great books to fun pool inflatables. We used the BBQ most evenings and found the outdoor dining area a very pleasant place to sit and admire the view with room for us all. The weather was very hot all week so we were able to enjoy the lovely pool and garden each day. A very serious ping pong competition took place in the welcome shade! The position of the villa is fabulous with a great view of the sea and harbour. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already looking into returning in the near future. Thank you Sally and Mike for allowing us to enjoy your lovely villa!
We stayed in La Marina in November 2016. The weather was great with plenty of sunshine and blue skies. However, the villa was the bonus. Sally & Mike have clearly put a lot of effort into creating a relaxing and comfortable place to stay. We particularly enjoyed the lovely warm pool and al fresco meals on the superb terrace. A place where you can spend many a contented hour. Watching the sun set from there with a glass of wine is not to be missed as the views over the bay to the hills at Calpe are divine. The villa is ideally situated in a quiet community within easy walking distance of the local beaches; shops; bars and restaurants. So convenient that we rarely used the hire car which was left securely parked at the villa. We would highly recommend La Marina.
Behind the large rustic gates of the Villa La Marina which takes advantage of its elevated position, overlooking the beautiful pool and amazing view across the bay to Calpe Rock we quickly settled in and became used to dining “alfresco”
Whether lazing around on the terrace, or just taking in the sun, we were content within minutes. It was surreal at first then became the norm as we found more excuses not to leave our secluded home, only popping down to the local shops for more supplies!!
A short stroll away is the shell-shaped bay of El Portet where we wandered along the beach and spent a few lunchtimes trying the local restaurants. There are no cars between these and the sandy beach and so although sometimes busy, sitting literally next to the sea with the kids having fun in the sand just below felt very civilised. From here we walked off our excess to explore the watchtower of Cap D'Or on the clifftop, then back to the villa for yet another swim and an evening drink on the terrace.
We had great fun in the kitchen cooking together and as with the rest of the property we found it very well equipped. The pool is easily large enough to exercise and enjoy games and whilst an eye was kept out on the children from the garden or the terrace above, they were entertained for hours! The quality of the villa was much higher than average and the attention to comfort and tasteful furnishings made for a truly restful break.
A short drive into the mountains brought breath taking scenery and the culture and food of these stunning hilltop villages.
Our stay at Villa La Marina over Easter was very relaxing. We went with our friends and four children making eight in total and found we had a lovely break.
This is a luxurious home from home, beautifully appointed and nicely located so that only minimal use of the car is necessary, once the fridge is full you can walk to both town and beach.
It is easy to find and well maintained by cheerful, friendly local reps.
All in all a perfect spot, well recommended.
We stayed at La Marina for a week in late July 2008. We chose this villa because our two teenage daughters were keen to be within easy walking distance of a beach and town. Our experience is that descriptions of villas tend to exaggerate the proximity of the location to such facilities. We were delighted to discover that La Marina is indeed within 5 – 10 minutes of the beach at El Portet and Moraira town.
We have always chosen destinations very carefully, trying to ensure value for money. La Marina is not a cheap option, but we believe it is very good value for money, taking into account the villa’s position and privacy, the specification of the property, the extremely comfortable nature of the accommodation, the quality of the outdoor areas, including the excellent pool, and the impressive views that are afforded across the bay and over the surrounding area.
Highlights for us during our week were:
• Strolling to the beach at El Portet for a morning swim (added bonus is that a shop in El Portet sells fresh bread for breakfast / lunch!)
• Lots of games and swimming in the warm pool, which lends itself to fun for those who are not the best of swimmers
• Eating, talking and playing cards on the balcony overlooking the bay and marina
We had a fantastic holiday in April 2009 at Villa La Marina. The villa is extremely comfortable and in a great location -10 mins to shops, restaurants and the markets.
Arriving at the villa around10.00pm in the dark, raining and in the middle of a thunder storm, we were very grateful for the welcome pack and the keys being where the owners said. We settled down with our scrambled eggs and started to relax. Next day Rob the Villa Manager came to see us, to make sure we had everthing and point us in the direction of the supermarket which was only down the road
in the town. After the first day we enjoyed lots of sunny days around the pool reading and deciding where to eat in the evening, one time cooking fish on the villa BBQ. For us the holiday was all about relaxing and that was easy as there are plenty of seating areas around the garden and terraces. They are are all good but my favourite was just outside the terrace doors admiring the wonderful views to Calpe whilst sipping our Gin and Tonic's.
If you get down to the harbour before 10.00am you can watch the local fishing boats land their catch before they are auctioned in the Fish Market.
For us we cannot reccommend the villa or the location highly enough. It was the nicest place we've ever been to in Spain.
We have just spent a wonderfully relaxing few days at Villa La Marina, and cannot recommend it highly enough.
The villa itself is beautifully welcoming and comfortable, and all the rooms are tastefully decorated and well equipped. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into all those little extras that make a holiday so much more enjoyable, such as: the helpful restaurant and entertainments review book; a library of games, books and DVDs for when the weather is less kind; and a variety of chairs and tables around the pretty garden for a choice of sun or shade. Over the years, we have had many family villa holidays in France, Spain and Portugal, and we would consider this to be easily the best accommodation we've stayed in.
Although we enjoyed several good restaurant excursions on this holiday, our high spot would definitely be the warm evening spent sitting on La Marina's terrace watching the sun go down, chilled glass of wine in hand, eating our freshly barbecued seafood. Bliss!
What a charming villa! We stayed for a week over October half term with 4 adults and 4 children and had a great time. The villa is beautifully arranged and over the week we each found our own favourite spot. Of course the kids loved the heated pool (essential at this time of year) and the shady garden beside it. Some liked the Moroccan porch and terrace dining area (a sun trap). The top terrace was a good hideaway but my favourite was lounging on the recliners on the front terrace looking at the stunning views of Moraira and the sea beyond.
In the evenings we took turns in cooking - there are three very good supermarkets nearby (you do need a car or take a taxi back) so we could find everything we needed.
After dinner we lit a fire in the sitting room and felt cosy. The owners have furnished the rooms with a lot of taste - white fabrics, Moroccan lighting etc
The town has a choice of two beaches - one with a kids playground too. Both were clean and safe to swim in (although far too cold for me in October!) The walk up to the old castle is also fun and just about doable with a 4 year old!
You won't find that many Spanish holidaymakers in this resort - nearly everyone we met was English but all very friendly.
Climbing out of the hire car and stepping through the massive door into La Marina’s gravelled courtyard was like arriving at an oasis. Finding our way round the house was even better - someone had taken a lot of trouble to leave it looking perfect, and extremely welcoming.
We loved the good-sized swimming pool and the garden was a restful delight, with shade beneath the trees for those who needed it, even in October! When it rained and gales rattled the palms, we sat happily in the loggia, reading, doing puzzles, just being ‘on holiday’.
We found lots to do – climbing to the castle above Portet beach was an adventure; even the teenagers enjoyed the coastal walk to the ‘The Witch’s Broomstick’ café. Moraira town was friendly – wonderful to find everything we needed within walking distance. Special favourites were fresh rustica bread from the 24/7 supermarket, and the local plonk, Liria – both astonishingly good value. We even shopped in the town’s fish market – a bit scary competing with local restaurateurs at the auction but the quality was superb. (Be there early!)
With ten of us staying, the kitchen was a happy noisy hub, and our long Mediterranean lunches on the balcony terrace were a daily delight. After sunset it grew cold and dark very quickly, but the log fire in the sitting room was a wonderful focal point for contented family evenings.
Would we come back after this, our first visit? Definitely!
Arriving at Alicante airport we quickly organised our good value for money car hire and set out on our way to our destination of Moraira. With simple but extremly accurate directions from the owners, we soon found ourselves there. Greated by impressive ourthentic Spainsh Wooden gates we entered our secluded haven for our weeks holiday. It was quite late at night as our flight had been delayed, so it was an added bonus to be greated with some provisions in the fridge for breakfast.
First impressions were that we felt immediatly comfortable in this very well equiped beautifully furnished villa. It has a wonderfully home from home feel with a delightful rustic Spanish charm, much to the owners thoughtful personal touches that are a theme throughout the whole villa. The following morning we awoke to the most spectacular views across the marina and out to Calpe Rock, that deffinatly exceded our expectations.
Much of our week was spent lazing around the fabulous pool, enjoying BBQ's with produce bought from the assortment of local shops. Both fish and meat were really fresh with a large selection to choose from, so something different each day.
Our favourite memory of this charming and unexpected find was evenings spent watching the sun set with a glass of the local pink bubbly!
We loved Moraira town, with its large choice of restaurant bars, cafes and shops. There was so much choice, you could have Cocktalis on the Marinas plush terraces or any food of your choice with budgets to suit all.
Walking into town was really quick, we liked taking the scenic route (only another five minuites) along the sea by El Portet. We explored the mountains and villages and along the coast, where there are many little coves to discover.
We both had a wonderfully restful stay in Villa La Marina and will deffinatly return, perhaps with family as I think our older children will love it too!
We have just spend two week with another family at Villa La Marina and we had a wonderful time. The villa is equi-distant (10 minutes walk) from Moriara town in one direction, with its restaurants, shops, beach and busy marina, and El Portet beach in the other direction with its two fine waterside bars which is perfect for watching the kids (aged between 14 and 10) play safely in the sea.
The villa itself is a great size and enabled 4 adults and 5 children live very comfortably without being under each other's feet. there are several areas to escape to or just rest quietly by the pool. In the evenings we watched the sun go down on theterrace before wandering out to eat.
Rob was great to have nearby as as locked ourselves out on one occasion. He also popped in to see it we needed anything on a couple of occasions which was kind.
Everything was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with all you need for two weeks. Sally was very helpful with questions we had before our trip and helped everything go very smoothly. Thank you for lending us your home. We happily recommend it to others
Arrived home a week ago after the best holiday we have ever had in Spain.
Villa was everything it promised and the weather was beautiful.
Sunsets viewed from the patio were stupendous
Can't wait to return another year.
A fantastic villa in an ideal location with stunning views over the med and coastline. The April weather was kind for us and we were able to enjoy plenty of sunshine. From the moment we arrived we were able to relax in a way we had never been able to do on holiday before. The kids especially loved the pool-so did we. The fact that there were no squabbles from them for the whole holiday was in itself a miracle! The villa was also well placed for travellers like us who had no car. Moraira felt special and we enjoyed different walks in between chilling by the pool and sampling some of the local restaurants. Our first trip to Spain and La Marina will hopefully be one of many in the coming years.
Tucked away in a small Spanish resort called Moraira, we were lucky enough to rent the Villa Marina, a home from home, the descriptions given were so perfectly represented , we were a family of six adults and a child of under two and this was the ideal holiday for us all, plenty of room and all modcons, we have had plenty of BBQ's, but have found wonderful restaurants to feast at too, What a lovely safe beach for the mornings only a 10 minute walk away, and then a relaxing afternoon by a welcoming pool, thank you Sally and Mike and all the friendly people we have met.
We have recently returned from a wonderful relaxing holiday at Villa La Marina. The villa is very comfortable with everything you could possibly need to have a wonderful holiday and definitely lived up to expectations. The lay-out worked particularly well for us as a family because we had the downstairs bedroom with en suite (which was very peaceful) and everyone else was upstairs so everyone had their own space.
The garden and pool were ideal with a variety of different areas to sit and relax in depending on whether you wanted to sun bathe or be in the shade, and the views across the bay from the terrace were wonderful and made every mealtime (even breakfast) special.
From the point of view of position, the villa really couldn't be better positioned being within easy walking distance (even with two young children) of the town and also the lovely sandy beach at El Portet. Moraira itself has a wealth of different restaurants and bars with something to suit everyone’s taste and pocket and we had several lovely meals out or just went out for drinks after a BBQ at the villa.
We started the holiday with plans to visit various places, but in the end the villa was so comfortable that we quickly fell into a pattern of taking the kids to the beach in the morning and then spending the afternoon by the pool followed by either a BBQ or a meal out so in the end we hardly went anywhere or did anything.
Overall this has been one of the most relaxing holidays we have had and we hope to be able to book Villa La Marina again at some stage next year for another dose of relaxation.
Just returned from La Marina having enjoyed a wonderful week with the extended family. It was our first visit to the area and we loved Moraira and loved the villa and topped off with great weather. The villa enjoys a fantastic location with superb viewsfrom the terrace, and is very well equipped - a real "Home from Home". The shops and beach in Moraira were within easy 15 mins walk as was the beach at El Portet. I must also mention the heated pool - too often in our experience a heated pool has meant warmer than no heating but not comfortable - not here where the temperature ensured that everyone was happy to be in the pool every day. Without question a holiday to remember.
We have just returned from our second successive holiday at this lovely villa and once again have had a wonderful time and have come back feeling relaxed and refreshed.
La Villa Marina is a lovely villa which is very well positioned in a quiet residential area and has wonderful views from the terrace across the bay towards Calpe. It is furnished and equipped to a high standard and the outside areas, including the all important pool, are lovely with both sun traps for sunbathers and shaded areas for those who prefer the shade. A bonus as far as we are concerned is that it is within walking distance (about 10 minutes) of both the town of Moraira, where there are bars and restaurants to suit every taste, and the beach at El Portet which is absolutely ideal for anyone with young children as the sea is shallow and the beach (although smallish) sandy and ideal for building sandcastles, so you don’t really need to use a car during the holiday unless you want to go further afield.
If you are looking for a lovely villa set in a peaceful location with all the comforts of home look no further you’ve found what you’re looking for!!
Along with our friends we are well travelled. Over the years we have grown used to exaggerated descriptions of local beaches, restaurants etc. etc.
However, when we arrived at this wonderful Villa we quickly realised the location was perfect, not right in the town but set in a beautiful, quiet, elevated road just on the periphery a few minutes walk from the town with outstanding views from the terrace right across the local Marina as far as the eye could see down the coast and over the mountains. This area also seems to have its own little micro-climate so whilst friends back home were shivering we enjoyed a full week of sunshine over the New Year with temperatures at midday reaching a very pleasant 22 degrees C
The local beaches are excellent, clean and safe, the walks can be gentle or you can hike to the top of the local hills for even more breath-taking views, golf is nearby and the restaurants are of the highest standard and very fairly priced. The whole area has a very safe and friendly feel about it.
The Villa itself is set in a well-manicured, private garden with a little shade from the palm trees if needed, a BBQ area and a very clean swimming pool, the drive-way is easily accessed from the road and will accommodate three cars. At the back of the villa there is table tennis for those with energy to spare. The kitchen like the rest of the property is spotless, well equipped and maintained. The bedrooms are spacious as was the lounge, however most of our time was spent on the terrace sipping the excellent local wines at amazingly low prices and taking in the views. The local market once a week is well worth a visit as well.
We were a group of six adults with plenty of room for all but the Villa could easily accommodate a group or a family of eight.
Needless to say our expectations were exceeded.
The villa was in a lovely quite location with stunning views. The villa had everything you could need, it worked really well for us, plenty of space if people needed time on their own, had breakfast on the balcony most mornings and followed the sun round during the day when reading and relaxing outside with plenty of very comfy seating which is unusual. Indoors was very comfortable and nicely decorated with everything you could need , it was good to have the option of central heating as needed most evening. Had a few games of table tennis and went out and about each day so many lovely places to see and restaurants to choose from, even tried to keep up the exercise by walking down to the supermarket and back with a large water. A brilliant time was had by all and we would highly recommend Villa La Marina. Sally and Mike where very helpful with any questions, directions and information regarding the villa.
We had a really relaxing fortnight at La Marina, which is a spacious and well appointed villa. We did lots of walking and the villa is perfectly situated as the area in which is located is very quiet but you are only 10 minutes walk from the town. Moraira has a very varied selection of restaurants so you are really spoilt for choice. We also cooked a few meals at the villa and the kitchen is fully equipped.
The property was just as we had expected and Rob, the villa manager, was excellent.
My husband is a golf addict so we had to explore the local courses - we booked through Campbell Lamont Golf in Teulada (cheaper than booking direct with the courses).
Golf Ifach - mainly par 3's - convenient but relatively expensive
Oliva Nova - Seve designed - relatively long but flat and walkable
La Sella - Olazabal designed - walkable, original 18 the best
El Bosque - Trent Jones designed- need a buggy and quite a long trip
El Saler - fantastic course, #4 in continental Europe - worth the drive for a keen golfer
We are already looking forward to returning to La Marina and having been there, are considering taking our elderly parents as the property would be ideal for them.
The website photo definitely sells the villa. We were not disappointed!
We were travelling as two families with four teenagers in tow (ages 15 - 20). The villa was outstanding with great facilities for self-catering, if needed. However, restaurants in Moraira and the surrounding area are plentiful with lots of good places to eat fresh food. The pool was a godsend as the heat was 31degrees in the shade and 38 degrees in the sun. (no complaints though - after our English summer). The enclosed garden and pool area were lovely.
We were returning to this area having last visited 24/25 years ago, and we had great fun trying to revisit some of the places. Although Moraira has grown and become more touristy, it is still small enough and retains its charm, but was busy enough to keep the interest of our teenagers.
We had a few days out - Altea, where you walk up the cobbled streets to the church at the top and get a panoramic view of coastline. We went to the Fonts de
L'algar waterfalls, which were very busy but I loved it there. Brace yourself as you enter the water (not as warm as the pool)!! We also drove into the Jalon Valley, where the vineyards are and many bodegas. We found one that we had been to on our last visit (24 years ago) still going strong and the owner was still there with his son, and he repeated his party trick with the spanish wine spout thing, pouring it from his forehead into his mouth and got us to participate - Happy times - a great relaxing holiday.
We arrived after a straightforward stress free drive from Valencia following the simple and accurate directions provided.
The position and quality of this villa makes life easy. Perfect almost uninterrupted views across the bay from the breakfast terrace to start the day and glorious sunsets behind the mountains with which to end. We found this villa had really easy access to beaches, bars, restaurants and shopping by either relaxed walking or, if absolutely necessary, by car. The atmosphere of the area is one of relaxed quietness, which encourages exploration and discovery of the compact surroundings while taking time to enjoy drinks at the many good bars or taking more time over the excellent dining. We had a superb evening admiring the phenomenal repertoire of the Brinks Band gig nearby, there really was something for everyone.
The layout of the villa is flexible enough to allow you to choose getting together over a paella or finding a spot to take time out for yourself. The detail of the decor catches your eye frequently with little touches in floor tiles and wall decorations. The villa facilities were excellent and of a high standard.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Villa! Our hosts were very accommodating and helpful to us. The villa is very well equipped and quite clean making our stay worry free and enjoyable. The information provided in the write up was very accurate to what we found when we arrived. The town of Moraira and the other small towns locally were a pleasure to explore and we were lucky enough to have great weather for our stay. We enjoyed the pool as it was heated for us, and the sun welcomed us on the terrace every morning. Canada. We would definitely recommend this Villa to anyone else interested in a peaceful vacation in southern Spain. Cheers from Paul and Jodi from Ontario
If only I could give more stars !! We were a family of 5 adults and 3 children who spent New Year in Villa La Marina and it truly was perfect. The villa was beautiful, spotless, spacious and had everything we could possibly need or wish for. The heated pool was fabulous as were the views down onto the bay. If you don't hire a car, the villa is a 5 minute downhill walk into the little town and amazing marina, and it's only 5 Euros for a readily available taxi back.
We spent New Years day on the beach at El Portet where all the locals take their champagne and picnics... it was really special and it was 17 degrees. Lots of great restaurants near the marina and lovely shops. Supermarkets nearby too. The service from Sally the owner when booking was prompt and she was so helpful; as were the agents/handyman on site if you needed them. I really can't rave enough about La Marina and we can't wait for the chance to head back there again... thanks Sally for creating a real home from home in the sun.... it was a delight !!! 10/10
e returned here for a second time for a week in the Easter holidays with the kids hoping for sun and we got it- well most of the time! Having breakfast on the Eastern terrace, lunch on the main terrace and evening sundowners with amazing sunsets by the pool felt so warming to the soul and made this week away in April feel magical!
Our girls loved playing ping pong, swimming in the HEATED POOL and generally lounging about in the sun! We loved quiet reading corners, close proximity to beach, restaurants and supermarkets and great cooking facilities in the updated kitchen.
I would recommend Vespas - slightly pricey but delicious pizzas and pasta (25 euro per head) and despite not liking theme parks we had a great day in Terra Mitica -check the promotion tab on their website for good deals.
Villa La Marina is simply stunning. Sally & Mike have made their villa feel so homely. The villa is equipped with everything you could ever need to enjoy your holiday stay. The location is amazing, just 5-10 minutes walk to either El Portet to the left or Moraira / Marina to your right. Great views over the marina when sat on the fabulously furnished terrace enjoying your the sun. We stayed over Christmas & Sally & Mike left the villa feeling very festive, the log burner was very cosy. Moraira is a beautiful little Spanish town which we have visited many many times. It has beautiful restaurants; and every time we visit we always try and hunt out new ones to try. We love The Olive Tree which is fantastic and did a fantastic Christmas menu. La Serenna do an amazing menu and we can recommend the chateaubriand which you cook yourself on a hot stone (ask for the red wine jus for one off the sauces). Le Soleil, Del Mar & La Sort were all consistently good as per usual. Thanks again Sally & Mike, we hope to stay again soon.
This villa is truly amazing, I highly recommend for a family holiday. We have stayed in Moraira for the last 10 years or so and this is the best villa by far that we have ever rented. As a family we are 6 adults and 2 children, (1 toddler and 1 baby) everything was taken care of, the cot, the stair gates we could not have asked to be looked after better. So much so that we booked our family holiday for 2016 the day we left Moraira! Thank you Sally & Mike for your attention to detail, your villa is fabulous!
We have just had another lovely week in Moraira. The villa was spotlessly clean when we arrived, the pool was crystal clear and the air conditioning was essential at night as it was still hot in the evenings. The gardens are a delight and beautifully maintained. Thanks again to Sally and Mike
This was our second visit to Villa La Marina as a family. It was absolutely perfect for us, every thing was perfect even the weather! So much so that we have booked again for 2017 as the villa and Moraira suits us all down to the ground. We highly recommend this Villa.

We visited La Marina in the summer as a family of 6 adults, a nine year old and a 10 month old baby. We followed directions that we’d received from Sally and Chris, the owners, before we left and found the villa easily.
La Marina is plenty big enough for 8, and there are lots of outside areas for you to have your own space if you want it. The kitchen is very well equipped and we had great fun shopping in the local supermarket (taking full advantage of the fresh Spanish shellfish), and then cooking it on the built in BBQ at the villa and eating at sunset. We also enjoyed a big breakfast every morning around the large table on the balcony, shopping for fresh baguettes and ham and cheese from the nearby bakery and convenience store.
We really appreciated the English TV channels, especially as it was the Olympics when we visited and it was great to catch some of that during our holiday. We had HOURS of fun in the pool, it was a perfect size even when we were all in there and ideal for the baby as we could leave her quite happily floating around on her little inflatable flamingo without the worry of her being disturbed by anyone else. There were also lots of books, dvd’s, and board games in the villa so if the weathers not so good, there is still lots to do (although it was glorious the week we were there).
Moraira itself was a beautiful town which we explored daily with it being only a lazy 15-minute walk from the villa to the shops, bars and restaurants. The highlight of most days was choosing where to eat, and we enjoyed every meal that we had. El Cafetí de la Mar was especially good, as was the Olive Tree restaurant which was amazing value for money but is a short drive away.
We enjoyed playing table tennis in the villa, the crazy golf nearby and visiting the closest beach where the water was really warm. A couple of us also walked down to the sparkling sea for a swim each morning which was rather idyllic.
We had an amazing holiday mainly because the villa was perfect for us and the worst part of the holiday was having to leave. The view alone sells this villa but it also has a perfect location & amenities, with every little thing being thought through. You really can tell that this is a place that the owners love to stay themselves and they have made it feel like a home from home.
We will never forget this holiday and will definitely be returning to La Marina as soon as we can.
From the moment we made contact with the villa owners they provided us with a great service. They were able to answer all our queries in a very timely manner and gave us so much more information in order to enable us to choose this villa. We are so glad that we did.
The property was easy to find with the directions given. We found the manual which gave lots of very useful information about the villa and the surrounding areas and once we had read this we were really starting to feel the holiday had started.
Our initial impression of the villa was fabulous and it certainly lived up to the description on the website and additional information we had been given. The balcony was super and we spent several evenings watching the beautiful sunsets over Calpe rock. The views were stunning. We had arranged for the pool to be heated and it was amazing that you could enjoy a swim in an outside pool in the middle of January.
The kitchen at the villa had everything we could wish for and really made self catering a pleasure. The weekly market and the surrounding supermarkets were a joy and had lots of fresh local ingredients to choose from.
There were lots of restaurants within easy walking distance from the villa and there were more in the surrounding areas. We particularly liked Vivaldi’s, Cascada and Vespa’s. The take away at David’s Fish and Chips was also very good.
The villa agents, who are based in Moraira, were extremely helpful and only a phone call away.
We would definitely recommend this villa and really would be very happy to book this villa again (hopefully not in the too distant future).

Perfect location, lovely facilities and a very relaxing holiday. Will be back.
We were a party of 7. Two families with teenage children. I honestly cannot fault this beautiful villa, so much so that we had already decided to return bext year before the week was over!
The villa is spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need. They have thought of everything. A very spacious villa and pool area means that everyone can have there own space. The terrace is fabulous with a view to die for! Just a 10 min walk into Moraira where we found some super restaurants and an especially nice Gin bar. We have already earmarked several new ones to try next year too. In the opposite direction is a 10 mins walk to a beautiful little beach which was very family friendly with a lovely little cafe for a coffee in the morning. Sally and Mike couldn’t be any more helpful, from recommending transfers from the airport to day trip suggestions. Looking forward to returning.

Lovely villa, beautiful sea view in a very good location. The heated pool was a huge advantage for a young family, as it allowed the little ones to stay in the water longer. Would love to return. Thank you for a wonderful week. We have some very special family memories.

When we got to the Villa we had a lovely welcome pack waiting for us which we were grateful for as we arrived late. The Villa was exactly what we wanted. The Kitchen was very well equipped, the lounge was a good chill out area as was the veranda with its great sea views. All of the bedrooms were light and airy with good Air Con. We loved the pool, we couldn't get the children out of it.
We will always remember Villa La Marina and would like to thank Sally and Mike for being such great hosts. You have a lovely Villa in a lovely part of Spain.

We spent a week at the villa with our son (aged 2) and both sets of grandparents. As with our previous trip, we had a wonderful time. The villa is ideally located for both Moraira and El Portet beaches and we enjoyed many evenings on the beautiful terrace sipping cava. Sally and Mike have been excellent hosts and German and Almu were very attentive once we were there. We'd highly recommend it!

This was our second visit to Villa La Marina, we stayed for three weeks again. We love the location, easy walking distance to the marina, the town centre and to El Portet beach. The heated pool is a godsend in winter. The kids play for hours whilst I can relax with a book by the pool!
Lovely comfortable beds too with, I believe new mattresses were put in shortly before we arrived.
Great WiFi and plenty of English tv channels which you do need in the winter months.

We cannot recommend La Marina highly enough. Located in a quiet residential area but within an easy 10 minute stroll into town for bars and restaurants. The villa has enough space to allow everyone their own little bit of heaven - from sunshine to a shady spot for reading or a game of table tennis. The pool was deliciously warm - no easy feat in December - and the house heating and fire great for the cooler evenings. The kitchen is well equipped with enough recipe books for even the keenest of holiday chefs to try out produce from the local market. We loved our time in La Marina.
We visited during a pan european cold snap and Moraira still managed to provide sunshine enough to sip a cold beer beside the beachs at El Portet and Moraira itself. The villa's ideal position allowed us to take advantage of the snow capped mountains, which offered the perfect backdrop for our walks through the almond orchards in full blossom. The local music scene is vibrant and we enjoyed fabulous live music at Saxo, which was close enough to walk to and not worry about driving. We dined out at several amazing restaurants, sometimes driving sometimes walking to locals with great variety.
We spent a week at Villa La Marina in early February. This is a really attractive and well-equipped villa that offered everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Unfortunately we didn't spend much time sitting outside soaking in the wonderful views because of the unusually cold spell of weather. Our days were spent exploring the local towns and countryside and in the evenings we would stroll into town to enjoy the restaurants and cafes of Moraira. It made the perfect base for our holiday and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a private and comfortable place to stay.
This was my 2nd trip to Villa La Marina and it just gets better and better...I'm already dreaming of the next time I can visit this stunning villa. The villa is beautifully furnished and feels very homely. The table around the side makes for the dreamiest brunch spot, and the round table on the veranda is such a lovely way to wind down in the evenings with a glass of wine. The location is a perfect balance of tranquility and relaxation, but with lots of places to visit locally if you wish to be a bit adventurous. Highly recommend the walk to El Portet and restaurant on the beach - so pretty.
We recently spent a fantastic week with friends at this beautiful villa. So very well equipped and homely and in a fab location within easy walking distance to both El Portet and Moraira. The villa has many seating areas dotted around the villa which meant we could always sit in the sun to eat and drink, irrespective of the time of day and enjoy the views over Moraira. However, the interior of the villa was also beautifully decorated and very comfortable too which is often not the case in villas in warm places! We will definitely be returning and can not rate this villa highly enough.
Thank you for a lovely holiday, the villa and location were perfect for a week of relaxing in the sun! The villa is beautifully decorated and kept inside and out, great pool, table tennis and lovely bbq area and terrace for eating with a great sea view, as well as comfy living area for the cooler evenings. Perfectly located to walk to the quieter beach El Portet to one side, and the busier Moraira town to the other, lots of good restaurants to choose from and beautiful clear seas. Would definitely recommend and return!

Our first time at La Marina, perfect location just 5 min walk to El Portet and 10 min walk to Moraira. Best property we have stayed at in 20 years of visiting the area. The villa is beautifully appointed with no expense spared, all mod cons you could want and more. Mike and Sally are the perfect hosts with excellent communication throughout the whole booking process. Will definitely be returning again. :-)
We are regular visitors to Moraira but this was our first stay at Villa La Marina (and it won't be our last!!!). Everything from the booking process ( made so easy by Sally and Mike) to the friendliness of the local management team helped this to be a memorable holiday. The villa was beautifully presented throughout, comfortable and comprehensively equipped. The quiet location is ideal, whilst being close to both Moraira and El Portet. Thoroughly recommended.
We have just returned from a wonderful relaxing holiday at La Marina. It was perfect for a family of six; our ages span from 19 months to 74 years! The villa is spacious and our granddaughter loved running around exploring. The villa is extremely well equipped with a great kitchen, a terrace overlooking the sea, a cot and high chair and a pool cupboard with lots of toys. Every morning we walked to the nearby beach at El Portet and swam in the sea. In the afternoons we enjoyed the pool. On our last night we danced to Spanish music as the sun went down! We'd love to come back next year!
As I told you before, we have been used to Charter Hollidays/ All incl. at big hotels. But I think our experience in your villa (and Moraira) have changed our future hollidays:-)
It was easy to find the Villa, using your guidance from the airport. And from the first time we stept inside your house, we loved it. Perfect floor-plan for the 10 members.
We did not use the outer bedroom, as all the teens stayed together in one bedroom, the two "bandits" in one and our little girl slept in the lower bedroom with us.
Breakfasts and dinners ( several barbeques) on the big balcony will for sure be missed!
Pool and the area around it was also very nice.
Only 5-10min walk from the city centre, the location was ideal. The city is not to big, and that suites us well. Visiting Benidorm and Calpe was ok, but we were glad Moraira was "our" town.
And for me and Erik, which do not have the same stamina for laying on a sun-bed, enjoyed golf 5 days during our stay. Javea (4 times) and La Sella. Perfect!( All time personal best on Javea with a round of 81)
2 families, 10 people total, was no problem. Of course we know eachother very well and the kids do not mind sleeping together.
Dining was know problem as there was several tables and chairs to use outside.
And evenings in the nice outside corner playing cards and drinking wine/drinks gave the adults a fine, relaxed ending on sunny days.
We have already decided that we will come back within the next two years. This was the best 2 week holliday we ever had!
All the best from 10 Norwegians!
