VILLA LUZ in the mainly residential pretty village of Addaia on the north coast of Menorca is a spacious south facing colonial style family home. Tastefully furnished and equipped to an exceptionally high standard the villa is surrounded by beautiful Mediterranean Courtyard Gardens, terraces and spacious inside and outside living areas.
SPECIAL FACILITIES include - heated pool with cover, child protection from the pool, A/C in all the bedrooms and the living room, ceiling fans. WiFi at 30Mbs, Satellite UK TV - limited channels in bedrooms 2 & 4, full IPTV in Living Room/Master. Wood burning stove with logs, additional heating, 2 Bose audio systems, DVD player, a hairdryer in every bedroom and SOS button to call emergency services. A lovely family home available for rent throughout the year.
The fully glazed garden room has 5 sets of bi-fold doors, 2 ceiling fans and teak dining table and chairs to seat up to 10. This spacious area overlooks the pool and gardens. It has a big built in BBQ, and a separate modest outside BBQ, servery and a lovely suite of rattan furniture where you can chill out with a good book or enjoy drinks together before dining in or out as the mood takes you.
The private heated pool with cover (Roman steps) is 9m x approx 4m with 6 pool loungers and 4 reclining cushioned chairs alongside.
Upstairs there are 3 light and airy bedrooms all with vaulted ceilings. Each room opens onto the large sun terrace with views out over the end of the port and the surrounding countryside. This terrace has roll out blinds, 4 cushioned chairs and 2 cushioned sun loungers. Bedroom 4 downstairs opens out onto the lovely courtyard gardens.
The Master Bedroom with a super-king size bed is ensuite. It has IPTV and a small dressing area. Bedroom 2 also has a super-king size bed and satellite UK TV. Bedroom 3 has twin continental beds which can be zipped and linked to create another super-king size bed and there is room for a cot in this bedroom. These two bedrooms share the family bathroom. Bedroom 4 downstairs has twin continental beds which can also be zipped and linked to make a further super-king size bed and satellite UK TV with a shower room just across the hallway.
The totally versatile sleeping accommodation is ideal for siblings who may require separate bedrooms, grandparents who like privacy and also for those who may have limited mobility. All the beds came from the UK and are extremely comfortable with 2 quality duck down pillows for everyone. Each guest is provided with a bath sheet, large hand towel and face flannel.
Nothing personal is locked away including the larder, wines, emergency toiletries and cleaning materials. Please replace/replenish what you use as a courtesy to me and those who follow you. On arrival you will find a comprehensive Villa Information Pack detailing how everything works, who to contact for help, where to shop, suggested excursions and places to eat together with all emergency numbers. The house alarm system has an SOS button for serious emergencies. There is a medical centre and pharmacy 5 minutes away in Arenal.
It is a short stroll to the village, where there are 3 bars/restaurants, a Spar supermarket and a souvenir/paper shop, and also to the marina/port where there is a bar/restaurant at the water's edge overlooking the boats. Beautiful safe sandy beaches at Arenal and Macaret are 5 mins by car and there are many other stunning beaches not far away for you to discover. Beach brollies, mats and insulated picnic/drinks hampers are provided.
There is an 18-hole golf course and tennis courts in Son Parc - 10 mins in the car. Sailing and diving schools in Fornells - 15 mins away. Kayaks, bicycles and boats can be hired from the port from where a really picturesque coastal walk begins. The whole area in and around Addaia provides an ideal base for water sports, walking, bird watching, painting and photography.
The villa is well supplied with family games, books, DVDs and CDs. There is also a Casio electric piano and a recorder - both with music.
Great for 8, perfect for families and/or friends from 2 to 6. The villa is also ideal for grandparents or those with limited mobility who may prefer to sleep downstairs.
A car is essential to really appreciate the beauty this part of Menorca has to offer but there is a limited bus service from the village to several parts of the island including the capital Mahon. Google www.villacars.es for 15% discount on car hire (including July & August) when you book a stay in my home.
Less than 30 mins from the airport Villa Luz is an elegant, private and peaceful ‘home from home’ where you and your family and friends can enjoy an active or quiet and relaxing holiday throughout the year.
RENTAL PRICE per week INCLUDES - WiFi, satellite UK TV, IPTV, all taxes, villa preparation for your arrival and cleaning & laundry after you leave. All linens and towels will be changed and a top and tail clean carried out halfway through your stay if this is for more than 10 days. It is essential to book early for the High Season and Half Term breaks. EXCLUDED (optional chargeable extras) - pool heating at £130 a week, pool/beach towels and baby cot/highchair - all can be hired. Cost of additional interim clean/bed linen and towel change.

By Andrea Stuart on 16-Aug-2025I can’t recommend Villa Luz highly enough – my family and I have stayed here nine times, which I think says it all! The villa itself is a beautiful, spacious detached 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom property with a large pool, perfectly located in the idyllic Port Addaia. It’s within easy walking distance of the charming little port (with its coffee shop, restaurant and watersports hire) as well as the shops and restaurants in the centre of Addaia. From the moment you step through the gate, you’re welcomed by vibrant bougainvillaea and a lovingly maintained courtyard. From there, the villa just keeps on giving. Inside, a welcoming hallway filled with sentimental personal touches makes it clear that this is not just a rental, but Jane’s much-loved home. She’s thought of everything – from beach umbrellas and cool boxes for sunny days out, to raincoats for the occasional cooler spell. The kitchen is another highlight – the larder cupboards are stocked with herbs, spices, pasta, rice, tins, and even a few freezer essentials. There’s a lovely tradition here: the guests before you often leave a meal or some basics in case you arrive too late to shop, and you do the same for the next guests. The kitchen (and the BBQ outside) is also equipped far beyond any holiday home we’ve ever stayed in – with more utensils, pots, pans, crockery and gadgets than my own house! Jane has truly thought of everything. The lounge is spacious yet cosy, with Sky TV so you can keep up with news from home if you wish. Outside, the terrace surrounding the pool is ideal for lazy evenings – we’ve spent many nights enjoying barbecues, playing Scrabble or a family quiz (all provided in the villa), and just soaking in the atmosphere. The pool itself is fantastic: large enough for laps, easy to access with steps for children or older guests, and with plenty of sunbeds and shady spots. You’ll never need to search for another villa again!
By The Rash Family on 19-Jul-2025Villa Lux is hands-down the best villa we have had the privilege to stay in. You may have read “home-from-home” in other reviews and this couldn’t be more true. This beautifully maintained 4-bed villa has everything, and more, for your stay. And even more wonderful if that you are welcomed into the Villa Luz family circle! That means the guests before you prepare some wonderful food for your stay, in turn you can leave a tasty meal for the next guests! Nothing is wasted here…a beautiful incentive from the Villa owner, Jane. Ask her about her ‘plot to plate’ initiative! The villa is brilliantly located within walking distance to a shop and some lovely restaurants and bars, we didn’t have to venture too far for some wonderful meals and experiences. With use of a hire car you can explore the whole island and we certainly made the most of it. The pool was wonderful and well designed to suit the whole family, grandparents happily sat on the steps whilst the children played! With lots of sunbeds in various locations around the villa you could choose where to spend your hours; round the pool, in the courtyard or up on the balcony, there was plenty of space for a family of 8. The air conditioning worked well although we rarely used it, some rooms have ceiling fans which were sufficient to keep us cool. It’s apparent Jane is a keen foodie as there is every pot, pan and cooking instrument you’d ever need in the well-equipped indoor kitchen! The decor in the villa is truly beautiful with interesting artwork and comfortable furnishings. It was the perfect environment to choose from the variety of music available and play games in one of the reception rooms. The view of the marina is breathtaking and you’ll have no shortage of places to sit and take it all in. The villa was clean and well laid out. Thank you Jane, we’ll see you again!

Cannot get enough of Villa Luz
By Steve Fowler on 18-Aug-2024So once again we have just stayed at Villa Luz for the fourth or fifth time, I am starting to lose count but it just never ceases to satisfy our needs. This Villa is spacious inside and out and spotlessly clean. Although a car is recommended to explore the island properly, it is situated within easy reach of anywhere on the island in a very short space of time. Local amenities, bars restaurants and beaches are if not in walking distance then a ten minute drive at tops. I highly recommend this Villa and the owner Jane is fabulous and meticulous about her beautiful home on the island and makes the stay so easy for you. Already booked for next year when we go again and really cannot wait. Thank you Jane.

Villa had everything we needed for cooking inside & al fresco dining. Easy access to supermarket and restaurants, all within walking distance. Jane’s information regarding the villa facilities and local area prior to arrival was excellent. Thank you for letting us stay at your home in Menorca.

Lovely quiet position with nice views from the balcony. Air conditioning in every room is really effective and makes for comfortable nights sleeping. I would highly recommend a stay here.
Amazing place to stay

The village of Addaia was lovely, really nice restaurants and port, we rented a kayak one day to row around. The owners communication was perfect, Jane couldn’t do enough to help us have a great holiday.
