Description
Mas de Sans is a typical working almond farm (harvest in August/September), in a privileged setting in the Prades foot-hills. Although peacefully secluded, only minutes away from the major towns of Reus (modernist architecture) and Tarragona (beaches and Roman ruins). The area is also famous for its wines (5 different regions), gourmet dining, Cistertian Monasteries and Modernist Wine Cellar route. Arriving through the urbanisation of Masies Catalanes and via a well maintained private track of 300 m.There is plentiful parking, an orchard, garden and large sun terrace with a small BBQ. The swimming pool is found on one of the many walks just 100 m from the cottage. The cottage is airy and "cool" with high ceilings and original stone features, (Keep windows closed during the day and open them all up in the evening). The living area and kitchen have views over the valley and coast. Only 4km from the historic villages of Alcover and La Selva or the mountain hamlet of L'Albiol plus the fabulous Prades mountain great for walking and cycling are on the doorstep with a range of historic villages.
Costa Dorada or Daurada has numerous beaches the closest being only 20 minutes drive from the cottage. There is an interesting Museum in Alcover, which houses some fantastic fossils. Port Aventura adventure Park 20 minutes by Car.
Leisure activities in the area include; Cycling, Golf, Walking, Fishing on the River Ebro, Gaudi and Modernist Archictecture in Reus and surrounding villages, Roman aquaduct and ruins in or near Tarragona, Museums, Monestary Route including Poblet and Santas Creus being the closest.
I am happy to share my experiences of the farm which is registered (Ecological) Organic with the Catalan department of Agriculture which also covers the whole of Spain and Europe. We have introduced a Pick Your Own vegetables from the organic vegetable patch, on the way back from the pool for lunch or dinner..
Anyone wanting to join in the harvest of Almonds or Olives are welcome and this will include visits to Almond processor as well as Olive press during those seasons.

By Darren Kirk on 16-Aug-2025We booked 14 days at this property and it was the most relaxing chilled experience, Ron was the perfect host and was there when you needed for advice of the area , We where a Family of 4 and our 2 sons enjoyed every bit of our stay , especially Mel the Dog greeting us when ever we returned to the bungalow , The accommodation has everything you need for a fantastic stay , myself and my wife loved our early Morning coffee in total tranquil surroundings , the pool was lovely , the collect fruit and veg on our way back from the pool was a real treat , we could not fault our stay and will be looking to return very soon
Wonderful place - better than the photos!
By Jo on 27-Jul-2024We loved our fortnight here. The house was so well-appointed, clean and tasteful, without feeling too precious. Everything, inside and outside, was beautiful and functional, and the views were amazing. The location is extraordinary: you are less than 30 minutes from sitting in a café in Reus, yet it seems utterly rural. There are so many interesting places to explore in easy reach, too. We enjoyed our visits from Mel and Tigre, the opportunities to gather fruit and vegetables and the pool. It’s a really special place. Just remember to bring insect repellent if you are there in high summer.
Wonderful stay
By Paulina on 18-Jul-2024We were delighted to spend our family holidays in Masies Catalanes at Ron's Cottage. The place is truly wonderful, peaceful and very beautiful. The access to fresh vegetables is a big plus, just like the swimming pool. We also appreciated the beautiful beaches of Tarragona and fancy restaurants Ron recommended to us. Ron's availability and advice was much appreciated, especially when one of our dogs got hurt. We certainly wish to come back !
Amazing R&R

The setting, the tranquility, the organic (complimentary) vegetables, the swimming pool and the facilities are all excellent. Topped off with lovely weather and day trips to Tarragona and Reus. We really had a fabulous time.
