What a stunning Villa a real home from home in the sun and beautifully furnished, we had a week in this villa with its beautiful shaded court yard to the amazing large roof solarium with views of the sunset , mountains and stars at night , and a great location for bars shops and a 10 minute drive to stunning beaches gaurdmar is highly recommended all in all perfect and a pool to boot , thanks Jill for everything David and Michele
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Jill's lovely house which is located in a quiet, well-kept residential area. The house is well equipped and very comfortable in the heat with both A/C and ceiling fans. We loved the fantastic roof terrace with it's views to the hills and the fact that the property is just opposite the pool. We often had it to ourselves which was an added bonus, as was the ability to get Netflix etc on the TV! We'd recommend a car to get around as there's not much in the way of public transport. That said, you can walk to a small well-stocked supermarket (Super Canales) but realistically in the heat, it takes a good 15 mins and then you have to carry the shopping back of course! Next to the shop are a couple of restaurants. If you're feeling daring, take the short cut over the rough rocky ground - you will see it to the right of the entrance to the Rojales Water Park which is about 7 mins walk from the house. We didn't visit the water park but just to say if you're planning to visit, it gets very busy and there's a limit on entry numbers. We did hire a car in our second week - rentals were super busy - and used Opencar in Quesada. They were very good and you can walk to their office in 15 or so minutes to pick up your vehicle. Their office is just by Quesada high street which has plenty of facilities - pharmacy, cashpoints, restaurants, supermarkets inc Lidl. About the same distance to walk in the opposite direction takes you to Benijofar also with lots of facilities/restaurants. There is a lovely beach in Guadamar del Segura (15 mins drive) but if you don't mind not having facilities on hand we'd really recommend the quieter part ' Els Vivers' - park in the Marina/Port for 1 euro all day and it's just a couple of minutes walk to lovely golden sand and warm blue sea - but you need to duck under or step over a little fence like the locals:) Remember to borrow the sunshade and bodyboards from Casa Lolemi. There is a restaurant at the Marina. Casa Lolemi's info book has lots of ideas for other days out. Can't thank Jill enough for her outstanding communication throughout the whole booking process and for arranging some shopping to be at the house for us - our flight time got moved so we didn't arrive till 2am. Despite the late arrival, we were greeted in person by the rental management company and our shopping was in the fridge! The lady who owns the company (Judith), was very helpful and we were able to contact her at any time if there was anything we needed.
This villa is clean, well equipped and spacious with adequate storage and hanging space. The rear courtyard was a great space for eating lunch and the roof top terrace is a lovely place to sit in the evening with a glass of wine. The pool was of a reasonable size with the water at a comfortable temperature. Nice restaurants are close bye , but a car is essential.
