Description
A delightfully, spacious, detached 4 bedroom and 4 bathroom villa, with private swimming pool, in the peaceful holiday resort of S'Algar.The villa has 3 bedrooms on the ground floor, each with patio doors out to the pool area. There are 2 twin rooms, each with its own adjacent bathroom; one is a family bathroom with separate shower and bath, whilst the other is a shower room. The third bedroom, on the ground floor, is a double with ensuite shower room. The fourth bedroom is located at the front of the property, between the ground and first floor levels; it is also a double bed with ensuite bathroom (with separate shower and bath). All bedrooms are fitted with air-conditioning units, overhead fans and sufficient wardrobe space.
The open plan dining and living space, on the first floor, is adjacent to the kitchen. Patio doors lead out to a balcony terrace. In the living area: there is a TV and DVD player (large collection of DVD's), a radio/CD/USB/iPod player, provided for your entertainment. UK Freeview channels, are available through an IP TV set-top-box, streaming via the internet connection. The TV is a Smart TV, enabling you to use some online services, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, if you have your own account.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, ceramic hob, washing machine, slimline dishwasher and American fridge freezer with ice-maker and water dispenser.
Situated in a quiet lane, with a pool and barbeque terraces to the rear, the villa is very private. The pool (8x4m) has offset steps at the shallow end and underwater lighting for safe bathing after dark. There are ample sun beds to take advantage of both sun and shade. A traditional Menorcan chimney barbeque is on a large paved terrace adjacent to the pool, just waiting for you to cook up a wonderful outdoor feast.The villa is located less than 3-minutes walk from the sea front and the Alua Soul Menorca Hotel. A 5-minute stroll (400 meters) will bring you to a small selection of shops, restaurants and a small supermarket. The hotels in the resort generally admit non-residents to their restaurants and entertainment evenings.
S'Algar is on the South East Coast of the Island, and is one of the best-kept resorts in Menorca. It is an ideal base whether you prefer a relaxing holiday or choose to be more active. A variety of pursuits are close by and these include scuba diving, bowling, tennis and swimming. There are interesting walks along the coast, one of which will take you to the historic cove at Alcaufar.

Peaceful location - we would return!
By Lauren Moyes on 25-Jul-2025We travelled as a family of 6 - 4 adults, a 12 year old and a 9 year old. The villa was a perfect size for us and it felt spacious. The three bedrooms downstairs all had access to a bathroom each - the double room had an en suite with a shower, there was a small shower room and a bathroom. The showers were nice and powerful. The shower basins were slow to drain the water away but there were notices up in the bathrooms about this so it wasn’t a surprise to us, or cause us bother. The bedrooms all had air conditioning, which was lovely to put on half an hour before bed to cool the room down for the night. The ceiling fans were used during the day although the one in the downstairs double room caused a bit of an unpleasant smell. This didn’t cause enough of a concern to us to contact the managing company - we simply didn’t use it! Each bedroom downstairs had access to the pool area, with shutters on the door. To open the doors each morning and step onto a little terrace was bliss! The little area outside of the double bedroom is a great sunbathing spot if you want to be away from the main pool area, and it has a little washing line. There is a rotary washing line around the corner of the garden, at the bottom of the drive. The beds were fine although a little squeaky! Halfway up the stairs was the fourth bedroom, again a fine size and a good shower. Up the stairs was the kitchen which was compact but had a washing machine and dishwasher. There were plenty of plates and glasses. We used the hob a couple of times and it was very easy to use, as were the dishwasher and washing machine. As a family we didn’t spend any time inside of the villa as we were always outside, but there was plenty of space for the children to lounge in when it was too hot for them outside. The pool area was perfect! A really good sized pool, plenty of sun loungers (7), a table and chairs and 2 parasols. There were some inflatables left in the shed but we bought a few more. We never saw anyone maintaining the pool but it was always clean, so we assume it was done early morning! There was a bbq which needed a clean before we could use it. We bbq’d twice and it was fine, easy enough to use. Overall the villa itself was perfect for us - a great size, a great pool and lovely pool area. We personally felt the villa could do with a bit of updating but for the price and location we really couldn’t complain! We would most definitely return. Very close is a small supermarket with a restaurant beside it. We used this supermarket for buying water and if we fancied an ice cream! The restaurant at Naranjos was nice, we ate here a few times. We would recommend the salmon, the goats cheese salad and the bolognese. There was a singer one night when we were there who was great. We used the supermarket in the square for our daily shop of fresh baguettes, ham, cheese etc. The main male shopkeeper was brilliant! It was well stocked for us. We sat in the square when we first arrived and enjoyed a nice cold drink from Reina Isabel, and ordered takeaway pizzas that evening, which were lovely. We ate there a couple of times and had mixed meals. The chicken in Roquefort sauce was very much enjoyed. It was a great place to people watch though and always quite busy (but we never struggled to get a table). Our favourite restaurant was La Trattoria. We got the little land train once and walked the other times, as it only takes about 15 minutes to walk (the land train didn’t seem to run on Thursdays). The staff there were lovely, very helpful, and each meal we had was delicious. We would recommend a pizza, the lasagne, the chicken kebabs and the risottos. All fab! Great for the kids too as there was a pool table and air hockey. We also enjoyed a few cocktails at Purobeach, but didn’t have food there. We took a walk along the path to Alcaufar a couple of times - there is a gorgeous bay there, very scenic. We ate at Piccolo Mundo one lunchtime - the mussels were very good but overall it was our most expensive meal out and not the most enjoyed by all 6 of us. We also took taxis to Sant Lluís and Mahón - the taxi service is very easy to use. The location of the villa is extremely peaceful. Although there was some nightlife from the hotels, the villa was far enough away that we could only faintly hear it. If you want a peaceful, relaxing holiday and don’t mind taking a taxi (about 18 euros to Mahón) if you want to explore further, then this is an ideal villa! We would highly recommend it and we would definitely go back again. It also has to be mentioned how great the communication from the owner, Lynne, was. She answered all questions prior to us visiting and was extremely helpful. Thank you, Lynne!
Great holiday rental
By foodies1968 on 12-Aug-2014We were a group of 4 adults and 2 teenagers and the house worked perfectly for us. There was plenty of space and having our own bathrooms was a real bonus. It had everything you needed for your stay. The swimming pool is a really good size with enough sun beds for everyone. We were pleased that we had hired a car so we were able to explore the island. Would not hesitate in recommending this house as a great base for a holiday.
Wonderful Family Holiday
By Paul H on 17-Aug-2023We had a wonderful family holiday with our children and grandchildren staying at the Yorkshire Rose The villa was well located with sea views from the terrace where we enjoyed our al fresco breakfasts and lunches. The accommodation was well laid out and met all of our requirements The pool was very beautiful and well maintained with some great sunbathing and shaded areas to choose from. Only a few minutes walk to the mini market for our our daily requirements which was perfect and restaurants are an easy walk away. A few minutes walk to sea and a beautiful beach close by which we all loved. We had a couple of routine queries whilst there and Lynne was amazingly responsive and helpful Would definitely recommend
Fantastic family accommodation

Family get away
By Marie P on 15-Jul-2022Finally, after a 2 yr delay my family have just returned from our wonderful holiday in this beautiful villa. We all had a wonderful time, we are a 3 generation group that all have different interests, but love our family holidays together. We each had a bathroom with our bedrooms, which were well equipped, clean and comfortable. The pool was fabulous, especially after a day out exploring the local area. We had bbq’s on the balcony after cocktails by the pool, aided by the ice machine on the fridge door. We tried the local restaurants and prefered El Pirata, that catered for our varied tastes including vegetarian. The coastal path to the north led us to a beautiful cove and the path to the south round to a lovely beach. The vineyard at Binifadet was an amazing day, exquisite wines, sublime food and really attentive staff. The local shops were well stocked or a short journey to Sant Lluis to a well stocked supermarket. The flights from Gatwick were hassle free, just needing face masks and covid passes. No queues or delays. A truly wonderful time was had by all. Thank you Lynne for renting your villa out, it’s been a real treat.
