Villa Serena is a newly built, luxurious, modern and spacious architected Villa located in Monte de los Almendros, one of the nicest hillside Urbanisations in the Costa Tropical.
The Villa has spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea, the Sierra Nevada Mountains (covered with snow during the winter) and the picturesque white Village of Salobreña and its historical Moorish Castle (illuminated at night).
Villa Serena sits on a plot of approximately 900 square metres and it's convenient location allows you to walk down to the nearby beach in about 10 minutes, through La Caleta, a small picturesque fishing town. You will also find lovely Countryside walks in the Monte from your doorstep.
Villa Serena has four large double occupancy bedrooms on the 1st floor. If you want to have a 9th and 10 person staying we have 2 single beds at the basement level. The basement is a modern and clean open plan area like the rest of the house. There is a separate modern bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink. The basement has air conditioning and is accessed from the pool level or from inside the house through a door from the ground floor level and down a staircase. The staircase is a little steeper than normal so possibly not suited to older clients who can however easily access the basement from the pool level.
There are 4 bathrooms in total in the Villa and additionally one ground floor toilet room.
The Villa is South-East facing and designed to ensure visitors can fully experience the wonderful panoramic views of the sea, stunning Moorish castle, mountains and nature that is all around this very private and secure white washed Villa. Surrounding it, there are plenty of outside Terraces, an outdoor kitchen/BBQ area and garden areas where you will also find a private heated pool and a Jacuzzi.

A more detailed description of the layout of Villa Serena is as follows:
You drive onto the Villa through electronic gates, accessed via a private cul-de-sac street. On entering the property, you will pass a large covered garage area as you drive up to the front of the house. There are secure parking spaces for several cars either in the garage or on the driveway at basement level.
Entering Villa Serena you will immediately notice the spacious and bright open plan design and your eyes will be drawn to the spectacular long distance views. The accommodation is nicely designed so you move naturally around the Villa. As you enter the Villa, you will also see a feature double-sided wood burning fireplace that provides a warm and cosy backdrop on those winter evenings when the sun sets earlier. The fireplace can be enjoyed from both the entrance/living room area and from the adjacent, more intimate television room.
The entrance area is incorporated into an expansive open-plan living room, surrounded by floor to ceiling glass sliding doors, so you can make the most of the incredible views to the sea and the spectacular surroundings. The room contain a large double chaise-longue sofa, armchairs and teak wood sculptured furniture. There is also a dining table that seats eight people.
There is a modern, open-plan kitchen that is well equipped for all your culinary needs.
Through the sliding doors from the living room, you have access to the surrounding spacious terraces, where you can relax in comfortable chairs and loungers and enjoy the scenic views.
Through the back door you will find a large outdoor dining table in a delightful, jasmine-scented outdoor patio area, with walls decorated with beautiful Andalusian tiles. This outdoor kitchen/dining area also consists of a brick-built barbecue, gas cooker, a sink and granite work surfaces.
Back inside and up the marble staircase you arrive on the first floor where there are four bedrooms and a family bathroom. There are two master bedrooms with king size beds (1.80m x 2.00m) and en-suite bathrooms. One en-suite is fitted with a walk-in rain shower, bathtub, bidet, toilet and double sink and the other bathroom has a rain and massage spa shower, toilet and sink. These two bedrooms share a terrace with stunning views of the Mediterranean coast and from where you can watch the spectacular sunrise. The other two bedrooms have two twin beds (0.90m X 2.00m) and one of these rooms also has its own balcony. These twin bedrooms are served by a separate family bathroom with a walk-in rain shower, bathtub, bidet, toilet and sink. All first floor bedrooms have fitted wardrobes.
The Villa has three WIFI networks, a CD/Radio player and a satellite TV with a wide variety of European and international channels.
The entire Villa has hot and cold air-conditioning, which can be controlled individually in every room and each room also has mosquito nets. Each window and glass door is equipped with curtains or blinds and mainly electronically controlled shutters.
Taking some steps down from the living room terraces, you are led to the tropical gardens where you will find oranges, limes, mangos, lemons and figs growing. There is also an open grass lawn that extends from the pool area and incorporates a delightful water fountain and further tropical plants.
The infinity swimming pool (10m x 3m) can be heated and has a cover hidden inside a bench seat in the water that you can sit on to keep cool and enjoy the long distance views. If you want a change from the Pool, there is also an outdoor sheltered Jacuzzi area. There is further an outdoor solar shower for use before going into the Pool or the Jacuzzi.
Around the Pool you can relax and enjoy the fabulous views from one of the eight sunbeds or the hanging hammock. You can also easily access the basement of the Villa where there is a toilet and shower conveniently located from the pool and jacuzzi area and where you can find various floating pool sun loungers and children’s toys.
Our guests are also free to use the Urbanisation’s communal tennis court, large swimming-pool, children’s pool, football pitch, playground and snack bar during the summer months. The main Salobreña beaches, restaurants, bars and shops are less than a 10 minute drive away.
Exploring away from the Villa, you can visit the Sierra Nevada Mountains to hike in the summer or for some of the best skiing in Spain during the Winter. So you can ski during the morning (from December to April) and relax on the beach or in the infinity pool or Jacuzzi in the afternoon. Additionally, the picturesque, mountain villages of Las Alpujarras are nearby, as well as the amazing city of Granada (with the must see Alhambra Palace) and of course Malaga with it’s historic downtown area and the Picasso museum.
Salobreña benefits from the subtropical microclimate with over 300 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of over 20 degrees C. For those interested in sightseeing art, architecture and history, this region offers the best of what Andalusia provides. You will be charmed and overwhelmed by the beauty of this region. Small white-washed villages on the top of hills, tropical nature, sounds of flamenco and of course the richness and variety of the Spanish food and drink.
Malaga, Granada and Almeria airport are all in close proximity to the area.
The Villa is suitable for families and/or more mature adults. Therefore 50% or more of the Adults registering to stay at the Villa must be over the age of 30 years.

A 25% deposit is required to book the Villa with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival. Payments are made by bank transfer. A refundable security deposit of 600 Euros is paid in advance by Bank Transfer (or in cash on arrival).
Rates are based on 8 guests; add €395 per week, per additional guest to a maximum of 2 additional guests.
Includes Bed linen, bath/face/pool/kitchen towels and bath mats. Replaced at no cost for each further full week booking. 14 Euros each person for additional changes.
Bookings are for a minimum of a week from Saturday to Saturday. Arrival time at the Villa is from 4pm and the departure time is 10am.
