Casa Miranda is a traditional style Andalusian villa that is furnished and equipped to a very high standard. It has been our family home for many years and we spend much of the year here ourselves and offer it for others to enjoy when we are elsewhere. It is in excellent condition throughout with all mod cons including a largely Miele equipped Italian designer kitchen. As well as being a particularly comfortable and spacious home inside it has a mature lawned garden outside with palm trees and fruit trees adding to the tranquil ambience of the location.

It is situated on the hillside overlooking picturesque Salobrena and its castle in a privileged location at the end of a quiet cul de sac. Being one of the first villas built in the prestigious residential area of Monte de los Almendros, it occupies what we believe to be the very best location on this hillside in terms of views, privacy and tranquility. We have 3 adjoining plots and just one house, so no immediate neighbours! Alongside is a verdant wooded valley with much wildlife including many interesting birds, eg Hoopoes, Bee Eaters, Golden Oriels, Spotted Flycatchers, Scops Owls, Nightjars, Tree Creepers, Kestrels, Black Redstarts and many more. Some of them nest in our garden. This degree of tranquility and privacy is a rarity on Monte de los Almendros nowadays, as in recent years new villas have been built on most of the remaining plots, usually very close to their neighbours with little space between them. Gone are the days when new villas were built with gardens around them. Now wall to wall concrete is the order of the day!

Our villa is very spacious both inside and outside with the living areas, bedrooms. terraces, furniture and furnishings all in keeping with a comfortable family home rather than a soulless holiday villa. And the views are truly outstanding from both inside and outside. The spacious open plan living room has a 4 meter wide single panel window framing a picture perfect view of Salobrena, the castle and the sea. The snow capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada can also be viewed from the living room. Another much enjoyed feature is the seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor living areas. Just outside the living room is an open terrace leading to the large covered alfresco dining area with a 2 metre circular dining table and outdoor kitchen/bar complete with a versatile and easy to use outdoor cooker/barbecue, large drinks fridge and washing up facilities. Much of the spacious, mature garden is laid to lawn, perfect for young children to play on.

The bedrooms comprise:
- a master bedroom with en suite shower room and super king size bed (180cms).
- a family suite of two bedrooms with the main room having two beds usually arranged together as a super king sized double for parents and the adjoining childrens room with a full size single bed and another one stored underneath that can be arranged at the same height for two youngsters. There are wide opening panelled sliding doors separating the 2 rooms and each has it's own A/C and patio doors with juliet balcony overlooking the adjacent wooded valley.
- Another double bedroom with 150cm double bed and en suite bathroom also with juliet balcony overlooking the adjacent valley.
- A spacious double bedroom with two single beds that can either be set up with twin beds or as a 180cm double. Views are over the garden to Salobrena castle and the sea.
ALL HAVE VERY COMFORTABLE, GOOD QUALITY MATTRESSES.
There is a separate cloakroom with wc in the living area.

Amongst the fixtures, fittings and amenities are a Miele dishwasher, Miele oven, Miele induction hob and Miele microwave. There is a water softener and a reverse osmosis water purifier for drinking water so no need to lug those heavy water bottles. There is air conditioning throughout. The main British French and German TV channels are on satellite and Spanish terrestrial TV can also be seen on the 42" Sony Full HD TV. There is also a Blu Ray DVD player and a Sony music system and an Apple TV box, Dyson vacuum cleaner, big drum washing machine and a tumble dryer. The super fast fiber wifi internet connection has unlimited downloads to connect your 'phones, tablets, laptops or other devices.

Outside there's a full size table tennis table and another seating area with adjustable sunshade for evening drinks at sunset or for afternoon tea! Access from the alfresco dining area to the open plan indoor kitchen is just a few strides away via the back door or the living room patio doors so salads and other foodstuffs are easily transferred from the kitchen to the outdoor dining area. Inside, between the kitchen and living room is yet another area for casual dining. The ample garden area is mainly lawn with various palms, fruit trees and shrubs.

The swimming pool has an eco friendly solar heating system and from May to the end of October we guarantee will always be at least 27ºC/80ºF without any additional pool heating costs. Even in mid winter it will usually be warm enough for swimming (around 21ºC/70ºF) and further heating can be provided by an energy efficient heat pump at an additional cost. Hot water is also from solar panels with gas heater as back up for the few days that the sun does not shine. The entire house has underfloor heating so remains warm and cosy during cooler winter evenings.

Casa Miranda is our home for much of the year and is very well equipped compared with normal self catering holiday villas. It will be scrupulously clean upon your arrival. It is not available for parties with pets or for groups of young adults looking for a "party house". And we have a strict no smoking policy inside the villa. We provide cots and high chairs and playthings for babies and toddlers. Clean bed linen and bath towels will be provided each week.

In the nearby (5 mins walk) communal area of Monte de los Almendros there is a large swimming pool, children´s pool, tennis court, football pitch, playground and a snack bar where you can enjoy meals and drinks from 11.30 am to 8 or 10 pm during the summer. A nice place for kids to make friends; there has even been a marriage between one couple who first met there!

The beach, restaurants, tapas bars and shops are all less than a 10 minute drive away. There is easy access, mainly on motorways, to Malaga, Granada and Almeria airports. The ski area of Sierra Nevada is just 60 minutes drive away and the picturesque mountain villages of “La Alpujarra” are nearby where you can enjoy great walking and hiking, as well as finding local hand crafted souvenirs. Our regular visitors usually spend most of their time relaxing at the villa but for those who like to get out and about there are plenty of things to see and do locally including watersports and golf or visiting the historic cities of Granada and Malaga with their many cultural attractions, including of course the world famous Alhambra.

Our spacious, comfortable and very private 5 bedroom family home has fabulous views, a heated pool, a mature lawned garden and is in what we believe to be the very best location on Monte de los Almendros!.
