We have recently returned from a wonderful 8-days-stay at Maremar. The house gave enough space for our three teenagers to seclude. We especially liked the tranquility, the beautiful view on the sea, the tasteful and comfortable furnishing and the very good kitchen equipment. Even in the beginning of November it was possible to swim in the large, beautiful swimming pool – of course, it was a little bit cold... We enjoyed the walk through the pine forest, which takes about 15 minutes. Sant Feliu is a beautiful city with lovely shops, restaurants and a large market on sundays. Thanks a lot to Lucy and Peter for many useful excursion recommendations and also for the very nice communication. We'll surely come back someday!
We were delighted with Peter. Extremely helpful answering questions and arranging transportation. The house delivers on all promises; clean, well appointed, and great location. Our guests enjoyed the third floor bedroom and balcony, unusual to find a house with essentially two master suites.Sant Feliu is a gem. So many delicious restaurants. Don't miss the coastal path - a hidden pleasure. We will definitely consider renting from Peter again, possibly one of his other houses?
Having just returned from a 2 week stay at Maremar I was seriously tempted not to write a review at all as I don't want anyone else to know about it!!! The villa was lovely. Spacious and comfortable with modern appliances, it was a delightful place to stay. All the rooms have very efficient air conditioning so sleeping on the hot summer nights wasn't a problem at all. The views from the back of the house are fantastic. The 3rd floor sun terrace is totally private and a complete sun trap for most of the day. Well appointed bathrooms, (3 of them), meant we were never stuck for cleaning up at the end of a day at the beach or pool. Always preferred a private pool but this one was was great. Huge and warm and even in the middle of August it never had more than half a dozen other people in it. A lot of the time we had it to ourselves. St Felui itself was lovely. Great beach with some surprisingly good snorkelling. Stay over to the rocks on the right hand side looking out to sea and the water is more clear with lots more fish. Great variety of shops and a handy Spar in the main square with some bigger supermarkets a little further out. Restaurants aplenty ranging from small cafe's to more upmarket ones. We loved the 'Hot Dog' (don't be put off by the name) for tapas and where I had the best octopus Gallega of the holiday. Snack Bar El Carrllet just behind the beach was tremendously convenient and a great place to have a large beer (the waiter wouldn't let me have it until I pronounced it correctly 'jarra' meaning pitcher!!) and something to eat for lunch. Eldorado Mar is the first restaurant you pass coming down the hill into St Felui from the villa and has superb views over the harbour backed up with wonderful food. Good value too if you go for the set price menu although the fillet of beef in salt crust from Girona off the a la carte was well worth it. Finally the owners. If you want a perfect example of how to run a villa rental then look no further than Peter and Lucy. The information they provided prior to and during our stay was exceptional. E-mails were always answered within a couple of hours and we'd been in the villa for 20 minutes before the phone rang and it was Peter checking we were happy with everything. On top of that our daughter turned 11 during our stay and Peter and Lucy had arranged a lovely surprise for her on the day. Would we go back? We're already looking at next year so of course we would!!!
