Description

No 31 is a large privately owned family villa situated in the pleasant residential area of Santa Ana on the outskirts of Es Castell, approximately 3 kilometres from Mahon. It overlooks Mahon harbour, with beautiful views out to sea and over Calas Fonts, a small inlet with restaurants and fishing boats. No 31 is at the highest point of Santa Ana and is not a front line property. The nearest supermarket is 8 minutes walk and there are many bars and restaurants in Calas Fonts and Es Castell within a few minutes walk. There is a half hourly bus service to Mahon and a Water Taxi service from Calas Fonts in summer.

The villa stands in a private garden with a lawned and landscaped front garden, and at the rear a large terraced area with a medium sized pool, a BBQ and covered eating area with a large granite topped table. The terrace is furnished with sunbeds, chairs and umbrellas but you will need to bring or buy your own inflatable pool toys, arm bands etc.

The villa is ideal for a large or extended family or two families sharing a holiday together or an extended family (max. 13 plus cots).

The accommodation is as follows:

DOWNSTAIRS Sitting/Dining Room, kitchen with cooker, hob, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, Double bedroom with en suite shower room with WC, Twin bedroom, Triple bedroom (bunk beds and single bed), Full bathroom with WC, large covered front veranda (useful as a children’s playroom and we use it for eating outside on windy or bad weather days).

UPSTAIRS Sitting/dining room, terrace, kitchen with fridge freezer (no oven but a small grill machine, kettle etc.), Double bedroom with large balcony overlooking pool and harbour and en suite shower room with WC, Twin bedroom, Double bedroom, Full bathroom with WC.

The villa is well but simply furnished as suits a family holiday home, and is well equipped and has plenty of toys, books, board games and baby equipment (2 travel cots,1 high chair etc) TV for DVDs only. Wifi.

There is no telephone at the villa. No air conditioning as a breezy place. TV for DVDs only.

In a two week stay the linen will be changed and the villa cleaned at the end of the first week unless that falls on a Sunday when it will be done on the Saturday. In a one week stay there is no maid service but this can be arranged at an extra charge if you wish it.

Linen

Linen for all beds (3 double, 5 single, 2 bunks), 1 bath and hand towel per person and a bathmat for each bathroom are provided by the management company. Cot linen belongs to the villa and is kept in a downstairs cupboard with spare towels and linen and beach towels.

Good for groups

We were delighted to have the Villa Aguila as the base for the six of us for our 2019 reunion. This is a most comfortable and welcoming villa, well placed for exploring the island. Very convenient for all amenities. The information supplied was most useful. We made good use of the barbecue when we invited our other friends round for the evening. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home. Violet and 5 friends from the P&0 Medical Society.

Family villa

We stayed at Villa Aguila in the summer of 2019 and had planned to return again in 2020. The villa is very spacious and has the most amazing views over the harbour of Es Castell (Calas Fonts) both from the terrace and from the master bedroom. Shops, bars and restaurants are all within easy reach, and a takeaway paella from the Bar Espana is an absolute must while enjoying the incredible views. The villa would also work very well for two families sharing due to the layout of having bedrooms both upstairs and downstairs and a small kitchenette on the first floor. Although Villa Aguila has neighbours it is not overlooked and feels very private. The kitchen is very well equipped - we entertained several times and always had plenty of everything. The pool - especially the slide - was a huge hit with the kids! The owners bent over backwards to accommodate us, particularly in 2020 when due to Covid we tried to rearrange our holiday several times but eventually were unable to go. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this property without hesitation.

2021 will be their 17th year

We have for many years now enjoyed the facilities offered at the villa, which provides a real home from home feel about it. The facilities cater for everyone and include lots of personal touches such as books, games and even buckets and spades if you need them. One of the great pleasures is the large outdoor seating area around the pool, from which you can admire the bay and watch countless boats as they travel in and out of Mahon harbour. Another love of ours whilst staying at the villa is an evening walk to the bay to enjoy a drink and a fabulous meal by the water's edge. We love visiting the villa and have taken many family and friends along with us to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of both the surroundings and the island of Menorca.
