Description
A charming detached two-bedroom air-conditioned villa with private swimming pool, set in grounds of a quarter of an acre, in rolling green countryside near the south coast of the beautiful island of Menorca.The villa, which is attractively furnished throughout, sleeps four or five people and is only 20 minutes drive from the airport and capital, Mahon. The nearby resort of San Jaime, with the island's longest beach - Son Bou, is just a 5 minute drive away. For those seeking a peaceful and private villa holiday without being too remote, Villa Lagartija offers the perfect location. There is a wonderful old farmhouse restaurant - Es Forn - just a few minutes walk away and plenty of bars and restaurants near the beach. WiFi internet access is available for clients' use, and Sky+ satellite TV with UK channels.
Bookings are weekly or fortnightly with a Friday changeover, but other durations and changeover days are possible depending on availability. A deposit of 20% is required to confirm the booking, with the balance due 8 weeks before departure. Prices are based on parties of up to 4 people, with an extra bed charged at £75 per person per week. A cot and high chair are also available at no extra charge, and we have our own hire car available for collection from Mahon airport for most dates.
There is ample car parking at the front of the house in a secure gated driveway. At the back of the house is a full width arched covered terrace and patio with permanent BBQ, sun loungers, patio furniture and unbrellas. Stairs from the garden lead to a rooftop sun terrace with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and down to the sea.
The swimming pool is 11 x 5 metres (36 x 16 ft.) with underwater floodlights, tiled steps at the shallow end, ladder at the deep end, and a poolside shower. The south facing well maintained garden has a large lawn, palm trees and flowerbeds, and is screened with perimeter hedging for privacy.
The villa is cleaned between lets, and all linen and towels (except beach towels) are provided and changed on a weekly basis. We also have a second similar neighbouring villa available as an alternative.

By Pete on 15-Aug-2025Beautiful away from it all villa if your after peace and quiet then maybe choose this one...too quiet for us and at the top end of saint Jamie ...you can't walk anywhere to rural for us yes son bou resort is a short drive but we like walking I drive for a living and needed a week of not driving 🤣🤣 I walked to the resort one day and it's only 22 mins but god the walk back is hard 🤯 if your after a villa away from it all and want to tour the island I'd recommend if your after a villa in the resort this was not the one for us ...Steve has been brilliant throughout and Comms are excellent all questions answered...I feel the villa could do with some modernising i.e the beds are not great..only a small gripe but it's nice to have a good bed 👍...and sorry but the cats are annoying ... We wouldn't stay again to far out for us we go out every night and like a drink and couldn't do this due to having to drive everywhere....if your after peace quiet and out of the way location please try it ...if. You have kids that want internet on demand and decent beds then dont 🤣🤣... I'd say ideal for older couple or couples with very young kids if you have teenager/s I wouldn't as they'll be moaning about internet all.week... Son bou/San Jamie is a lovely resort and we go often and will continue to do so just somewhere nearer the centre 👍 Please don't see this as negative it will suit a lot of families couples just not us unfortunately and the villa has what you need ..thanks Steve oh yeah the cleaners were brilliant lovely ladies spent over two hours cleaning the villa a credit to there work
A Gem In the Countryside
By Martin on 13-Jun-2025Great setting for the villa, quiet, peaceful, and very private yet just a moment away from facilities. The right size for me and with a spectacular huge pool, perfectly warm in June. It's just what I'd been looking for for some time. And I have been visiting Saint Jaime in Menorca every year for 30 years or so. I hope if Steve will have me I would like to become a regular each year from now on.
A fabulous place to stay
By pauline bourne on 04-Oct-2024We had a wonderful two weeks at Villa Lagartija in October. Warm and sunny everyday so made good use of the fabulous pool and all the comfy sun beds. There is seating everywhere in both sun and shade and being south facing the sun is with you all day including the evening when you can enjoy watching it set from the upper terrace. It’s a very peaceful location with just two villas nearby and the garden and surrounding area has many trees creating a very natural relaxing environment. It’s convenient for the well stocked local supermarket, and the ‘panaderia’ selling gorgeous bread and pastries. These and the beach are an easy five minute drive from the villa. Also walkable but steep. The villa is very comfortably furnished and well equipped. We particularly appreciated the proper coffee machine for our morning cappuccinos! Steve was brilliant at communicating all that we needed to know right from the start and when we needed a new gas bottle Maria was there within 10 minutes. I would like to say that we explored the island because I could see how easy it is to get around but we just couldn’t bear to leave the villa and the gorgeous pool and garden! Maybe next year!
Lovely Villa
By Bev on 13-Jul-2024We spent a week a lovely week at Casa Lucia in Son Bou. The villa was light and airy with a very spacious lounge and air conditioning which was a godsend during the afternoon! The villa was incredibly well equipped and had all the essentials to hand such as washing up liquid, herbs and spices, avoiding having to buy them. There were also beach rollls, parasols and ice boxes etc for days at the beach which was fantastic. I would highly recommend a stay if you are looking for a chilled, quiet and relaxing break as the location of the villa is a bit further out and completely private.
Most relaxing lovely holidsy
By Tracy on 22-Sep-2023Villa is situated on the quiet end of tori soli nou. It was easy to find . The well kept front and rear garden was a pleasure to view.. the rear garden was a large size with a beautiful pool. Plenty of places in the garden to dine and relax. Comfortable garden / patio furniture to relax on. There was a Hugh garden box which had everything you need fir the kids/adults to play with ..football..pool toys and Inflatables .. the villa it's self is to a lovely standard..very clean and everything you need is already there. From tin foil to hair straighteners...I can not find one fault with the villa.. it was so peaceful .the added bonus is the car available to hire too..... I've stayed in over 20 villas in and around son bou...but this one is by far the best...I'm already looking at dates to book up to bring my granddaughter.. the host Steve was very helpful with all the communication... in the villa there's a folder with everything you need to know. From days out to using the dishwasher... the added bonus was the lovely cat that was around the villa..... so please don't let the position of where the villa is situated put you off..... I've found my little piece of heaven in this villa ...
Beautiful villa in quiet location

The villa was beautiful and very clean throughout, villa had everything you could need, freesat tv, dvds and board games were a nice touch. Would go back in a heartbeat and will definitely recommend to friends and family.
