Description

This beautiful farmhouse is built in the traditional (sugar cube style) thick stone method. Most of the ceilings are about 20 foot high so air conditioning is not necessary. In addition all outside windows have inward openings with Louvre shutters to allow free airflow. The stunning interior layout and design is in keeping with the character of this old property, yet fully suited to a party of eight or just a couple staying. The property is secluded but not isolated, with our next door neighbours looking after the well being and maintenance of the house.
Outside: The farmhouse overlooks the village of Tao from the west (front) terrace of the farmhouse. Relax having a 'sun downer' or two whilst overlooking the garden and enjoy the breathtaking views as the sun sets.
The driveway has ample space for 4/5 cars with the track leading to the house having very few vehicles travelling past throughout the day. Although at about 1.00pm a goat herd strolls past about 300 metres away, a view to behold!
The south terrace (poolside), is fully private with two eating areas, one covered for midday sun and the other for sun worshipers. The pool is oval shaped and 7 mtrs by 4 mtrs. It is 1 mtr deep at the shallow end and slopes to 2 mtrs at the deep end. Solar heating is more than sufficient in the warmer season and for the winter months the electric heating adds that extra backup, (no extra charge). The BBQ (not gas) is easy to light so long as you make sure you have the charcoal before you start!!
Utility Room: Sink unit. Ironing board and Iron. Laundry basket and pegs. Washing machine. There are various pool toys for children.
Cleaning / Towels / Linen / House keeping service: Bed linen bathroom and beach towels are included and are changed weekly. Cleaning is carried out weekly.
Other: Inner hallway (next to the pool terrace). Storage cupboards for sun bed cushions/umbrellas. Storage cupboard for CDs DVDs games books CD docking station. Snooker and pool room with bar, fridge, 1/4 sized pool/snooker table. Docking station for iPod. TV screen.



Coast/Beach:

10 minutes drive to Famara beach the view of which can be enjoyed from the house. Famara is famous for surfing and hand gliding. Or simply head to Teguise for the vibrant Sunday market and beautiful boutique restaurants and bars.

Drive north, the same drive time to La Santa village with international sports complex, and a number of restaurants.

Drive south same drive time to Playa Honda, - hyper markets /shopping centre and restaurants.

The capital Arrecife is less than 15 minutes drive, with a beautiful harbour.

Puerto Del Carmen (biggest tourist resort) is also less than 15 minutes drive and enjoys a lively night life..

Travel:

Arrecife International airport is ls less than 15 minutes drive. Car hire (pick up and drop off) at the airport can be arranged through the owner.

A wonderful holiday

Just back from a great stay in Tim and Dianne’s delightful farmhouse/villa. Set in the heart of the tranquil Lanzarote countryside, it proved an ideal central location from which to explore the island (hire car necessary). The farmhouse is spacious, airy, immaculately clean and tastefully furnished to a standard we have not previously come across in our many years of self-catering holidays. It simply does not feel like a rental property, but rather the much-loved home of very house-proud owners who have spared no effort in creating an exquisite property. The pool is warm and offers complete privacy, the beds comfortable, wifi and tv are great, the kitchen has everything you could need… I could go on! We enjoyed it all so much that some days we just stayed ‘at home’. Recommended wholeheartedly!

A wonderful house to go to, Peace and Quiet in Luxury

We stayed at the Farmhouse over Christmas, our Third visit this year. The Weather was good, warmer than usual for December. Having been to the island so often we rarely go to the Tourist Attractions just the Market in Teguise for its atmosphere. So we enjoyed the sun and peace and quiet. A car is essential as the house is not near the main supermarkets but there is a smaller supermarket on the way to San Bartholome with a good selection of essentials.

Fabulous farmhouse with a beautiful pool and lovely views

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay, the owners had thought of everything, the pool was warm and protected from the breeze, there was loads of space, the games room was fully kitted out. Lots of information in the booklet, and we ate out at a couple of the recommended restaurants and had amazing food. We would definitely recommend and will be back!
