Due to demand we have opened our 2027 calendar , and offer a low deposit to secure your holiday.Walnut Tree Gîte is a charming stone 4 bedroomed cottage built in 1900 and refurbished in 2019 to provide a holiday home retaining the original charm and character yet providing the modern comforts expected, set in peaceful gardens with it's own heated swimming pool. Located in the peaceful village of Kersulan, the ideal location to sit back and relax.
Walnut Tree Gîte offers a separate kitchen and dining room and upon arrival we provide you with a Welcome Pack.
The kitchen has a focal point island for family and friends to gather around whilst preparing meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, and the essential dishwasher, attention to detail has been given to ensuring that the kitchen utensils are good quality and plentiful. Another feature of the kitchen is the lovely wood burner. In the kitchen you will also find tea, coffee, sugar, oils, spices, herbs, cleaning materials, tea towels, oven cloths.
The spacious dining room looks onto the front garden and down to the village, providing a beautiful setting to enjoy your meals, a large farm house table and chairs sits 6 comfortably.
The living room has a tranquil feel with windows and doors leading out to the front garden. It features a wood burner, three seater and two seater sofa's with two contrasting armchairs all located around the large coffee table in front of the wood burner.
There is UK satellite tv, French tv, dvd player, wireless speakers, books and films.
Stairs from the living room lead to the mezzanine bedroom with feature king size iron bed.
The main stairs lead from the kitchen to the spacious main bedroom with en-suite, there are a further two single bedrooms and a family bathroom.
In the main bedroom you will find a comfortable king size bed, with an en-suite which comprises of a bath with over head shower, vanity unit and wc.
All the bed linen and towels are luxury hotel quality giving you that relaxing nights sleep. We also include pool towels.
The corridor from the kitchen leads to a separate downstairs wc and a laundry room, the corridor also gives access to the back garden and heated swimming pool.
Outside you will find the private garden with heated swimming pool, which is yours, and yours alone! The swimming pool was totally renovated in 2021 (3.5m x 6m and is 1.5m deep) , you will find the crystal waters to be a glorious 26 degrees, and for those families with children, the peace of mind that the pool is fully enclosed. The peaceful landscaped garden has many area to sit and relax either in the shade or full sun, you will find a delightful al fresco dining area with gas bbq which overlooks the pool or you can sit and read a book in the landscaped garden ruins. The garden really does offer the perfect surroundings to just sit back, relax and enjoy life. New for 2024 we have a games hangar with outdoor games for all the family to enjoy.
There is room for two cars at the front of the property. Electric charging station is available for guests, contact us direct for terms.
We are pet friendly, and welcome dogs at a charge of 40€ per week on request.
On departure guests are requested to leave the Gîte clean and tidy, or you can take up our Pack and Go facility for 50€.
A security/breakage deposit of 500€/£ is required for the duration of the stay.
The Morbihan region is a very varied department of France, offering prehistoric monuments, historical towns, beautiful estuaries and the River Blavet. It boasts beautiful sandy beaches and islands along the coast and around the Gulf of Morbihan, and as Brittany's most southern department offers the best summer holiday weather and sea temperatures.
Walnut Tree Gîte is ideally situated to visit the many attractions that Brittany and Morbihan has to offer the nearest large town is historical Pontivy just 10 minutes away, the River Blavet just 5 minutes, and the nearest beaches are 40 minutes drive away. Nearby activities include kayak/canoes, river boat trips, golf (4km), horse riding (1km), fishing, and surrounded by many woodland walks.
There are so many beautiful villages and towns nearby to see, that we have provided an information pack with recommendations including markets, restaurants and places of interest to visit.

A fantastic compleet Gite on a beautiful location!
By Arrie en Aletta de Lange on 13-Jun-202613-06-2026 to 27-06-2026 After a journey of 9.5 hours that was long for us, we arrived at the Walnut Tree, where we were greeted at the gate by Tina and Graeme. Truly with open arms; that is so heartwarming! While my husband was chatting with Graeme, Tina proudly showed me around the Gite. The first thing that caught my eye upon entering was the homemade cake waiting for us, as well as the bouquet of flowers, fresh from the garden, the homemade jam, snacks, baguette, wine, and milk in the fridge. You wouldn't believe your eyes, would you? The Gite is truly fully furnished, which is stated in the description, but I had taken that with a grain of salt because everyone says that. As befits a true Dutch person, I had dragged half my household belongings along again, and believe it or not, I did it all for nothing. A small example: washing powder and fabric softener, olive oil, herbs, sugar, salt, etc.... I could go on and on; it is all there, and too much to mention. The beautifully landscaped garden with lots of flowers and seating areas everywhere (4) in the back garden. It is also lovely to sit at the front of the house. When we returned from a visit to Rochefort-en-Terre, our washed and ironed bed linen was waiting for us clean upon arrival. Tina had also cleaned the Gite again and replaced the towels, and all this at temperatures of around 40 degrees! There was also a freshly baked cake and a fresh bunch of flowers in the kitchen again. Graeme went to the bakery on Sunday and brought back rolls for us as well. Never, absolutely never in all those years in France have we met two such sweet, caring, and helpful people as Tina and Graeme, who really do everything they can to give you an unforgettable holiday. Well, we can tell you: They succeeded!!

Fab Stay
By Sheila on 16-May-2026Loved our stay in a traditional Gite located the quietest of settings with secure mature garden .. Well appointed stylish , clean, and SO dog friendly with lots of dog walking opportunities. Warm friendly hosts, though next door, were discreet. The welcome pack was so generous! Everything you would need has been provided . Pool, games and books would entertain all ages. Fab stay :)
I wish we could have stayed longer!

The castle at Josselin was really lovely, thanks for recommending it. I wish we could have stayed longer!
The Best Time

Had a lovely day at the beach, park and soft play which was all close by and easy to get to. Will definitely come again.
Fantastic Holiday

The surrounding countryside is beautiful and we have enjoyed exploring the local area with a visit to Josselin and kayaking along the Blavet being particular highlights! The Gite is lovely and we have had a wonderful relaxing time in your beautiful garden and of course, we have all enjoyed the pool! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.
