We only have a few weeks left to book for 2027, therefore, due to demand we have opened our 2028 calendar , and offer a low deposit to secure your holiday.Walnut Tree Gîte is a charming stone 4 bedroomed cottage built in 1900 and refurbished in 2019 to provide a holiday home retaining the original charm and character yet providing the modern comforts expected, set in peaceful gardens with it's own heated swimming pool. Located in the peaceful village of Kersulan, the ideal location to sit back and relax.
Walnut Tree Gîte offers a separate kitchen and dining room and upon arrival we provide you with a Welcome Pack.
The kitchen has a focal point island for family and friends to gather around whilst preparing meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, and the essential dishwasher, attention to detail has been given to ensuring that the kitchen utensils are good quality and plentiful. Another feature of the kitchen is the lovely wood burner. In the kitchen you will also find tea, coffee, sugar, oils, spices, herbs, cleaning materials, tea towels, oven cloths.
The spacious dining room looks onto the front garden and down to the village, providing a beautiful setting to enjoy your meals, a large farm house table and chairs sits 6 comfortably.
The living room has a tranquil feel with windows and doors leading out to the front garden. It features a wood burner, three seater and two seater sofa's with two contrasting armchairs all located around the large coffee table in front of the wood burner.
There is UK satellite tv, French tv, dvd player, wireless speakers, books and films.
Stairs from the living room lead to the mezzanine bedroom with feature king size iron bed.
The main stairs lead from the kitchen to the spacious main bedroom with en-suite, there are a further two single bedrooms and a family bathroom.
In the main bedroom you will find a comfortable king size bed, with an en-suite which comprises of a bath with over head shower, vanity unit and wc.
All the bed linen and towels are luxury hotel quality giving you that relaxing nights sleep. We also include pool towels.
The corridor from the kitchen leads to a separate downstairs wc and a laundry room, the corridor also gives access to the back garden and heated swimming pool.
Outside you will find the private garden with heated swimming pool, which is yours, and yours alone! The swimming pool was totally renovated in 2021 (3.5m x 6m and is 1.5m deep) , you will find the crystal waters to be a glorious 26 degrees, and for those families with children, the peace of mind that the pool is fully enclosed. The peaceful landscaped garden has many area to sit and relax either in the shade or full sun, you will find a delightful al fresco dining area with gas bbq which overlooks the pool or you can sit and read a book in the landscaped garden ruins. The garden really does offer the perfect surroundings to just sit back, relax and enjoy life. New for 2024 we have a games hangar with outdoor games for all the family to enjoy.
There is room for two cars at the front of the property. Electric charging station is available for guests, contact us direct for terms.
We are pet friendly, and welcome dogs at a charge of 40€ per week on request.
On departure guests are requested to leave the Gîte clean and tidy, or you can take up our Pack and Go facility for 50€.
A security/breakage deposit of 500€/£ is required for the duration of the stay.
The Morbihan region is a very varied department of France, offering prehistoric monuments, historical towns, beautiful estuaries and the River Blavet. It boasts beautiful sandy beaches and islands along the coast and around the Gulf of Morbihan, and as Brittany's most southern department offers the best summer holiday weather and sea temperatures.
Walnut Tree Gîte is ideally situated to visit the many attractions that Brittany and Morbihan has to offer the nearest large town is historical Pontivy just 10 minutes away, the River Blavet just 5 minutes, and the nearest beaches are 40 minutes drive away. Nearby activities include kayak/canoes, river boat trips, golf (4km), horse riding (1km), fishing, and surrounded by many woodland walks.
There are so many beautiful villages and towns nearby to see, that we have provided an information pack with recommendations including markets, restaurants and places of interest to visit.

Beautiful Gite in peaceful rural Brittany
By Jan on 22-Aug-2026We’ve just returned from a wonderful week in Brittany, staying at The Walnut Tree Gîte in Kersulan, and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough! Set in a delightful and peaceful rural location, the gîte is spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. The house is very well equipped, with beautiful gardens, a choice of lovely terraces and a fantastic private pool area — perfect for enjoying the sunshine and unwinding. The owners are absolutely lovely and are always on hand should you have any questions or need anything during your stay, while also giving you complete privacy. The location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area, with fantastic opportunities for walking and cycling, as well as some amazing restaurants nearby. We’ve had a wonderful stay and would thoroughly recommend The Walnut Tree Gîte to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable base in Brittany. A return visit is definitely a must — and, in fact, we’ve already booked our stay for 2027! We can’t wait to return.

The perfect holiday home
By Hague family on 08-Aug-2026We love staying at Walnut Gite. The house, garden, pool, and most importantly our hosts, Tina and Graeme make it so welcoming and comfortable for us. The Gite is spotless, and equipped with everything you could need. An ideal base for exploring the region, with peaceful surroundings that make it easy to relax and unwind. We were very lucky to watch the solar eclipse while on holiday, it was lovely to meet the local residents of the village who made us feel very welcome (and shared their glasses!). We will be returning 😊

A great place to stay

The welcome was incredibly warm, with a freshly baked cake and beautiful flowers from the garden waiting for us. The garden itself is a true oasis of peace and tranquility, and the swimming pool was a wonderful way to cool off on warm days. Tina and Graeme go above and beyond to make sure their guests have a fantastic stay, and their warmth and hospitality really made our week special. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this wonderful place to anyone. We would love to come back!

We have been so comfortable here and Tina & Graeme have been the most caring and thoughtful hosts we have ever had. They spoilt us with the lovely cakes and wine, along with all the other little touches which has made us feel so very welcome. Amazing place to stay
By Carol Warley on 25-Jul-2026From the moment we arrived at Walnut Tree Gite we knew we would have a wonderful holiday. The hosts Tina and Grae met us on arrival and showed us around this lovely gite. It has everything you need and very comfortable beds in each of the four bedrooms. The was amazing and the grandchildren loved it as well as us. It is a very peaceful place but has plenty of things to do not too far from the gite. We had a wonderful week making memories and will certainly return. Thanks to Tina and Grae for making our holiday a wonderful one.
