Villa Armor

Villa Armor. Easy reach of lovely restaurants and beaches, English Go Ape on a different scale and within 30 minutes walking distance, the house was friendly and Christophe the holiday agent was fantastic helping to solve any problems we had and always keeping in touch in a timely manner.

This was my favourite villa. St Cast was perfect with plenty of things to do in the local area. The house was also brilliant. Spotlessly clean and very well laid out. The boys really enjoyed the garden for volleyball and rugby (and the outside table was perfect for their travel table tennis kit, which was a bonus). The owner was a delight – we stumbled by using google translate between each other, but he couldn’t have been more helpful. My only negative point for this one was that the bed that my husband and I slept in (in the bedroom next to the upstairs bathroom) felt quite saggy and so it is perhaps time to get a new mattress (the bed downstairs that our son slept on was much better, but we only realised this part way through the stay and didn’t fancy swapping all of the sheets over). Overall though we had a brilliant week and would definitely like to return to St Cast. I can’t fault you! It is nice to book with an actual person rather than a faceless company as it feels reassuring to know that there is someone at the end of the phone if needed (like when we didn’t have the correct number for the owner!). We would definitely book with you again. Thank you for a great summer holiday.

We rate the villa as 5/5. The Cote d’Armor and the area around St Cast is extraordinarily beautiful. We have visited many times and our favourite places to visit include Matignon market on Wednesday mornings. St Jacut de la mer market on Fridays and many other interesting places close by, like Dinard & St Malo on the coast and Dinan about 30 minutes inland. The beaches at St Cast le Guildo are a safe choice for families, our favourite is the Town Beach at the far end away from the town and near where the water sports are based. There’s plenty of places to park at that end of the beach. It’s also worth taking a walk from the town centre along the pathway under the cliffs to the Marina and find some really good places to eat there. That’s what we always do on the day we arrive because the ferry docks at St Malo around 8hr and we park in St Cast and enjoy a leisurely coffee in the town, then walk to the marina and enjoy lunch. By the time we’ve walked back it’s almost time to arrive at the property. There’s a small Carrefour supermarket in the town for any immediate supplies. Our main shopping is always at Super U in Matignon, and there’s also a Lidl in Matignon. Villa Armor is a great place to stay and only 10 minutes walk down to the town centre (takes a bit longer to walk back up the hill!). The owners are very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the house has a great open plan living space downstairs and very well equipped kitchen. The garden is a real pleasure. Outside space is very private with a wrap around patio area and grassed area and plenty of shade under trees and 3 parasols. A big outside table and loads of chairs available makes the whole experience very comfortable. We have been twice and would recommend it to friends and family. Christophe is friendly and helpful and very responsive in answering any questions. He has direct communication with the owners so is able to re-assure about anything you need to know to make your visit positive and enjoyable.

Villa Armor

We all had a lovely holiday at Villa Armor, and we loved the town of St Cast le Guildo and the local area. The beaches were wonderful. The house itself was charming and perfect for our needs. It was very quiet and peaceful, except for building work right next door which was noisy at weekends, but not during the week. It was a very good place for me to recover, with garden umbrellas and loungers. Apart from a couple of small errors, (an out of date phone number and slightly incorrect information about the tourist tax) everything was as described in your information. The owner was charming and helpful and we did our best to leave everything clean and tidy. One small thing I wish we had known beforehand was that there would be no shops or restaurants open in St Cast le Guildo on arrival. We should have stopped en route in St Malo to get some basic supplies for a late supper. We will know better for our next visit! Thank you for all your help and kindness.

We had a lovely time at the villa thank you. We thought it might be handy if there were coffee filters already at the house, even just one for the first pot of coffee, and salt and pepper. We enjoyed the big garden and the house. The boys gave the beach 10/10.

Villa Armor

 By Barry G on 11-Jun-2025

We enjoyed our vacation very much. Not the best time of year for the weather, our dates were decided by a birthday event! Villa Armor was just as advertised and we much appreciated how well it was presented. One son was unable to join us due to last-minute work obligations, so our party was only three persons. The location was great and easy to reach in one day driving from Buckinghamshire via Eurotunnel. We tallied our bill with a full refund of security deposit promptly on day of departure and was back in Bucks, early evening same day. We were surprised that there were no UK TV channels as we normally stayed at Gites and owned by Brit’s. No complaint here, but it would have been nice to have a UK channel. The internet was brilliant and real 5G too! Really appreciated that. The gardens (front and back) were remarkable, a bonus, and much appreciated. Also Select Villas website was 100%. My son Daniel is a Web Master by the way! Nice quiet location and walking distance to good quality restaurants. I would just leave one PS regarding the quantity of toilets in Villa Armor. There is one en-suite and one common shared toilet. This was totally sufficient for a family of 3 or 4 like us, so no negative comment here. Given that there could be 7 or 8 adults, I pondered it could be an issue. Again, we were not in the least troubled. We would 100% not hesitate to return to VIlla Armor!
