Description
Charming single-story house with a veranda, located on the outskirts of Hesdin-la-Forêt.Visitors appreciate the French-style comfort, the rural setting, the sandy beaches, and the World War I and medieval sites. Just over an hour's drive from the Channel Tunnel and ferry ports, it's an ideal location for a holiday or short break.
An excellent restaurant awaits you only 250 meters from the house. In town, a 15-minute walk away, you'll find a wide selection of restaurants to suit all budgets. Enjoy the beautiful and renowned Hesdin-la-Forêt market and watch the constant flow of passersby from the terraces of the cafés and bars in the square, then return home with your arms full of treats.
The town boasts a superb leisure center with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, water slides, and attractions for the more adventurous, as well as a fitness center and spa. You'll also find a bowling alley, a paddle tennis court, and a café-bar open in the evenings.
Arras and Lille are ideal for strolling and discovering urban culture. The town of Boulogne-sur-Mer will charm you with the Nausicaa National Sea Centre and a delicious seafood tasting at its fishing port. If you simply want to relax, unwind in the lawned garden and admire the variety of birds, sheep, chickens, and geese that live peacefully in the cider apple orchard bordering the tranquil Canche River. The veranda offers stunning views, and there's also a covered and shaded outdoor area.
The cottage is spacious, warm, and welcoming.
It includes two double bedrooms, one of which connects to a twin bedroom. The large living room with a fireplace serves as a dining room, relaxation area, and fully equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, etc.). You will find a French television, a DVD player, and a selection of films. The veranda is adjacent to the living room.
Outside, there is a charcoal barbecue, a gas griddle, and a covered terrace with garden furniture. The garden features trees, a lawn, and a ping-pong table.
*The property includes a second cottage with a private garden. While independent, it can be connected to the two cottages if you wish to rent two accommodations for a total capacity of 14 beds.

A perfect place to stay
By Peter and Janet Connah on 25-May-2026The cottage was comfortable and cool in the very hot weather we had. The area was so peaceful, the most noise being from the cuckoo! Jean-Claude and Kate were very welcoming and helpful. The local town was within easy walking distance for the croissants and baguettes. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend Stable Cottage for a holiday.
Perfect family holiday. We didn't want to leave!
By Emily T on 23-Aug-2025From the moment we arrived, Jean-Claude made us feel so welcome. The house itself is secure, has everything we needed and had a real authentic French feel to it. Hesdin (pronounced Hey-Dan) is beautiful. Lits of shops/supermarkets/things to do such as swimming and a fantastic market Thursday mornings. The best beach we found was Plage Stella (30 mins drive). It was so beautiful we returned 3 times! Highly recommend and wish we were still there! BIG thank you to Jean-Claude and Kate.
Delightful cottage
