An unexpected treat
By Margie Nobbs on 15-Aug-2026What a blessing to stay in this rustic cottage for a week. It was delightfully decorated and comfortable and everything we needed was on hand. The pool was glorious in the warm weather and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring surrounding village markets and chateaux. We would not hesitate to recommend this charming hideaway and harbour a secret hope that we might get to experience its charm again sometime in the future.

Thank you for your lovely review. So pleased you enjoyed your stay. You are the first guests to make fig jam from the fig tree - wonderful! :-) You are welcome back anytime.
A relaxing and beautiful stay in the Loire Valley
By Tom Nicholls on 08-Aug-2026This was our third time here in the last 12 years. It’s always a joy to stay here with so few other people around and everything we need. The one improvement this time was the big walk in shower. We didn’t travel much this time (as it was very hot all week). The pool is great and it stays very cool all through the day. The bakery/patisserie in nearby Vernouil is one of the best we’ve ever been to. Baguettes moulin, croissants and the tartilettes are amazing. I would also say the market in Bourgueil on Tuesday is a great experience, but go there early in the morning so you can park in the nearby Lidl. Thanks again Lynne and Mark!

Thank you! It was such a pleasure to welcome you and your family back to Loire Hideaway again. So pleased that you enjoyed your stay - the weather this summer has been amazing. We agree with you, the new walk-in shower is a vast improvement :-) And Boulangerie Dupuy is fabulous! You're always welcome back!
Holiday August 2026
By Sewart Family on 01-Aug-2026A perfect hideaway amongst the sunflowers and fields close to the Loire. The house is just beautiful, so many interesting features, and space to spread out. We ate outside every evening, the pool keeps the sun until very late so you can swim after a day out. No mosquitoes either! The house is 20-30 mins from most of the attractions, so a car is needed, or the lanes are good to cycle on. The kitchen was really well equipped, and each room lovely and spacious. The house kept quite cool too even in the heatwave. Thanks for sharing this little gem of a place.

Perfection
By Jen on 25-Jul-2026The Loire Hideaway was incredible. The house is beautiful, clean and everything you could possibly need is available. The air conditioning in the main bedroom made a real difference as we had glorious sunshine the entire time. The photos do not do the place justice! The grounds are quiet with thoughtful seating in shady parts. The grapes, fig tree and hedge surrounding the property not only gave welcome shade and privacy but also enhanced the feeling of being in the Loire. The salt water pool is fabulous!! I can't recommend this property enough! You could just stay here and do nothing else and be incredibly happy. But the location means you are in a great position to explore the surrounding area if the mood strikes. Total bliss of a holiday.

Thank you! It was a pleasure to welcome you to Loire Hideaway. So pleased you had such a lovely time - we also think the garden and pool are a great place to relax, so it's nice when our guests feel the same and enjoy the surrounding attractions of the area too! You are welcome back any time!
Glorious, if a bit hot!
By Caroline P on 20-Jun-2026A lovely house and garden, the pool was amazing, and the peace and quiet was just what we needed. The house had everything needed for our stay, was clean, tidy and welcoming. It looks just like the photos. Lynne was easy to contact and replied to emails very quickly. We stayed during the recent ‘canicule’ (heatwave). Temperatures reached 44 degrees and the pool was used a lot. It was too hot to go and do the activities we had planned, but just sitting in the shade was perfect. We did have a drive down to the Loire in the car, but Saumur was closed as were a lot of the local tourist attractions. I suppose that means we’ll have to come back!

Thank you, it was a pleasure to have you stay. The heat in June was excessive! Glad you enjoyed the garden and the pool in the absence of tourist attractions. You are welcome back any time.
Lovely quiet retreat
By Martin on 30-Aug-2025Private property tucked away in the countryside yet easily accessible to the Loire. Very quiet and peaceful. Lynne was most responsive to any questions we had.
