Overview
Description
Strikingly stylish in an enviable and beautiful location, this property has been restored to a high standard. Large open plan living areas and well proportioned bedrooms give a real sense of light and space. This has been accentuated by the white washed walls and south facing rooms overlooking the terraces, gardens and heated pool. La Badoussie is a Perigordian stone house with attached converted barn providing 5 generous bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, 2 reception rooms and a modern well-equipped kitchen. There's a lot of space for children too: in addition to the pool they will love playing in the lawned gardens or exploring the wooded areas beyond. La Badoussie is set within the Perigord Noir, famed for its history, cuisine, chateaux and stunningly pretty villages. The house is 4km from the famous Perigordian village of Daglan, 10 km from the River Dordogne and 20km from the Renaissance town of Sarlat.Bedroom Details

A wonderful house in a beautiful part of France
By Steven on 27-Sep-2018Even better than the online photos, La Badoussie is a great house in which to have a family get together. Well-equipped eat-in kitchen, two sitting rooms, large dining room, outdoor dining, helpful owners. Close to the village of Daglan, which has a grocery, bakery and three restaurants. We visited in the month of September, which we highly recommend, as the throngs of summer tourism come to a halt on September 1.
La Badoussie
By David on 05-Jul-2019We all had a tremendous time at this perfect house. The owners are a delight to deal with and the house is situated in arguably the most attractive part of the Dordogne - beautiful countryside, the 'Beau Village' of Daglan, numerous local chateaux and close proximity to the river Dordogne, Domme and Sarlat. The recent improvements to the pool area were very much enjoyed by the whole family as, despite the surrounding area, this is where we spent the majority of our holiday. We are very much looking forward to returning. Many thanks
The perfect place to stay
By Robin on 20-Sep-2021This house has everything you could need. Lovely large ensuite bedrooms, huge kitchen, two sitting rooms, a large heated pool, extensive garden and fantastic view. A very comfortable and relaxing base to enjoy the beautiful Dordogne region. We stayed as a family and had a great time. A big thank you to Colleen & David for making their lovely house available and timely communications.
Lovely La Badoussie
By Sonia on 31-Jul-2022We were so excited about this holiday having waited two years for it and we weren't disappointed with the Dordogne, the location of the gite or the gite itself. The scenery is stunning and the view from La Badoussie was exceptional. There were lots of beautiful chateaux, villages and towns to visit within a relatively short drive. Nearby Daglan was lovely with really good restaurants. The gite was spacious and comfortable with an en-suite to each of the five bedrooms. Outside, we enjoyed the swimming pool and BBQs. Colleen was exceptionally helpful from the time of our original booking and during our stay. We will treasure the family holiday memories made at La Badoussie for many years to come.
Beautiful home and lovely gardens
By Christine on 24-Jun-2024Our family and friends enjoyed the serene beauty and nearby sightseeing the area offers. Close enough to pop into Sarlat for marché twice a week and remote enough to unwind and take in the natural beauty of the valley. A 5-10 minute drive to wonderful restaurants. Le Petite Paris and Restaurant Dôma were among our favorites. Domme, Le Roque Gageac, Castelnaud and Beynac are all within easy driving distance and offer additional dining options and sightseeing. Farther afield are Rocamadour, Peche Merle, Gouffre de Padirac and offer splendid sightseeing options. David and Colleen were always available before and during our 3 week stay to offer guidance and advice. The home is ample in size and provides enough space for 10 people to enjoy indoor/outdoor living. Waking up each morning to a vast array of bird song was a delight (downloaded the Cornell University APP Merlin to assist in identifying all the different calls) and a wonderful way to start the day. Deer even appeared on the property on several occasions. The kitchen has the basics and plenty of glasses/plates/utensils/serving pieces so running the dishwasher nightly is all that is required. The housekeeper is a kind woman, who even brought us her homemade levain bread. We’d love to return one day.
You will definitely want to stay here!!!
By Bob on 27-May-2023We had the best time. Your home is so beautiful, classy, and super clean. The grounds were pristine, and the view was mesmerizing. The roses were blooming and so colorful. Cyrille, the gardener, does a wonderful job keeping it up. We have stayed in so many villas all over the world for the last 25 years—and yours is now our favorite. I could go on and on about how much we loved it. Thanks again for allowing us to spend time there. We hope to return some day.
