Wake up to birdsong, sip your coffee overlooking the valley, and unwind in your private pool under the stars, welcome to Chez Nous!

Experience the charm of our spacious vacation home in the Dordogne, perfect for up to 8 guests.

Spacious house quietly situated in nature, built in typical distinctive ochre-yellow stone. Large living room 50m2, separate kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 2 WC's, 1 bathroom, 1 shower room. Large terrace with dining area. Shaded area with another dining area. Private pool. Private parking.

Our holiday home, in our family since 1978, is situated in the peaceful hamlet of Le Speroutal, near charming Urval and Paleyrac in the commune of Le Buisson-de-Cadouin. In the heart of the Dordogne region, the Perigord Noir. The spacious property is a tranquil retreat for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you're a couple, a family, or two families looking for a memorable getaway, Chez Nous is an excellent choice for your holidays in every season of the year. You have acces to super-fast Fibre Optic Internet in case you have to get some work done. Or just for fun.

Plenty of parking space on-site: we have two additional private parking spaces on our property. Additionally, there is space for more cars along the perimeter of our grounds.

A lovely private pool measuring 5 x 10 meters, suitable for children as well. It is accompanied by a large terrace with sun loungers and breathtaking views of the valley. The spacious living room, nearly 50 square meters, features large windows overlooking the terrace and valley.

Relaxation: for ultimate relaxationyou can recline in one of our four LaFuma relax chairs – those comfortable "tilt chairs" that raise your legs effortlessly.

Outdoor dining: in summer, you'll likely want to eat outdoors. Choose between the covered terrace overlooking the valley or the shaded spot under the century-old linden trees by the pool. Both feature a large wooden table with sturdy, comfortable benches with backrests, handcrafted by Philippe, who also renovated our bathroom, shower, utility room, and kitchen. We’re thrilled with his craftsmanship!

Kitchen: the newly renovated kitchen blends modern cabinetry in cheerful yellow with the rustic charm of the farmhouse. It includes an additional dining table for four, a large Périgordian fireplace housing a modern wood stove, and a utility room equipped with a second fridge-freezer for drinks and produce, a Miele washer and dryer, a large convection oven, microwave, and a Philips air fryer for quick snacks, roasted veggies, or bread.

Kitchen inventory: the kitchen is fully equipped with a 6-burner gas stove, a large fridge-freezer, and a wide array of cookware and serving dishes. For your convenience, basic spices like salt, pepper, and herbs are provided. Coffee enthusiasts can choose between a Nespresso, Senseo, or traditional filter coffee machine.

Living room: the expansive living area, approximately 15 meters long, boasts high-beamed ceilings, thick stone walls, and large windows. It is comfortably furnished with, among other things, an Italian designer sofa and a recliner. The dining table in the living room seats eight comfortably, with two high chairs for children that can be easily added. The sturdy, modern chairs have armrests for added comfort. You’ll also find a well-stocked bookshelf with games and books in both Dutch and English.

High-speed fiber internet: the entire house is equipped with free, fast Wi-Fi via fiber optics and google television/casting. Remote work is highly feasible, with a dedicated workspace in the living room featuring ample power outlets. Whether you want to work, though, is another question. I do it occasionally when I feel like it.

Sleeping arrangements: There is one bedroom on the ground floor and three on the first floor. "Chez Nous" features beds suitable for tall guests: two double beds are 2.10 meters long. In total, there are four bedrooms: three spacious ones upstairs and one smaller one on the ground floor with a double box spring (160x200). The largest bedroom has three single box-spring beds (90x200 each), while the other upstairs bedrooms have double box springs measuring 180x210, 160x200, and an Auping double bed (160x210).

Bathroom and shower: The modern bathroom is on the ground floor next to the bedroom. Across the hall is a separate shower room with a washbasin matching the bathroom's style.

Two toilets: There is a separate toilet within the bathroom and a separate senior-height toilet next to the ground-floor double bedroom.

Utility rooms: One utility room includes a sink, oven, microwave, extra fridge, washer, and dryer. Another provides space for hanging coats, oak cabinet with cleaning supplies, a vacuum cleaner and ironing board.

Please note: the property is less suitable for guests with limited mobility.

We had a wonderful weekend in this rustic house in the Dordogne. The house has a lot of charm, is quiet, and the pool is really beautiful.

, · June 2025 , · Stayed a few nights We had a wonderful weekend in this rustic house in the Dordogne. The house has a lot of charm, is quiet, and the pool is really beautiful. Lodewijk is a great host! Ready to meet his guests' needs, smiling. The only negative point is the presence of horseflies at high temperatures; you have to protect yourself against them, and sprays are available in the house. PLEASE NOTE: In all the years, more than 25, that we have been renting out the house, we have only had trouble with horseflies twice. Reply: 'What a lovely review! And how nice to read that you loved our family home Chez Nous so much. You had beautiful weather and the pool was such a godsend. Thank you for choosing to be our guests: you are always very welcome.'

Jan and Yvonne from Hilversum Visited in June 2023 10 stars 10 Our stay at Chez Nous was fantastic, the house is fully equipped, beautiful location and beautiful view of the valley and very nice private pool. Lovely quiet area, you can really relax. In short, highly recommended! Response from Anne-Karen van der Grinten Hello Jan and Yvonne, Thank you for the compliments and the high score, a 10 for goodness sake! We will continue anyway, it can always be better. The goal remains that everyone can spend a wonderful holiday in our family home. With the whole family, that is easy in our spacious house, or just the two of us or 4 of us. Au revoir et bien cordialement, Anne-Karen & Louis

Wonderful & Spacious well-equipped place-Excellent Swimming Pool-Terrace-Holiday atmosphere

By Richard from Bleiswijk, The Netherlands on 08-Aug-2023

Richard from Bleiswij, the Netherlands Visited in August 2023 10 stars 10 Hidden in the greenery in a hamlet in the Perigord Noir, Chez Nous is not only an excellent base for visiting the wealth that the area has to offer (castles, caves and beautiful villages), but also a wonderful place to spend whole days. The excellent (and carefree) swimming pool obviously contributes to this, but the house itself is already spacious and well-equipped, and the terrace at the rear with beautiful shade guarantees a holiday atmosphere with every meal. We have extensive experience with gites in France, and certainly also in the Dordogne, but absolutely distinguishing here is the extremely friendly and complete communication with Anne-Karen, the very spacious equipment (the large oven in the utility room is really a godsend with a group of 8, but there is also no shortage of pans, plates and cups, which is certainly not the case everywhere), the location and equipment of the terrace and the swimming pool (spacious!). The pool is also neatly closed off with a fence, so you don't have to worry about small but very curious children. The disadvantage of the pool is that the children now prefer to stay at the house rather than visit a castle Anne-Karen, thank you for the wonderful holiday. Response from Anne-Karen van der Grinten What a nice review Richard and family. I am really happy to read that you appreciated the house, pool and equipment so much. I am very aware that it is your holiday and I try to ensure that it can be as pleasant and carefree as possible with regard to the things that I can influence. And I will continue to do so. Always welcome for a next time. It is and remains wonderful there, we think so too. Au revoir et bien cordialement, Anne-Karen

Had a great week comfortable, fully furnished, authentic farmhouse in a beautiful green location with a magnificent view

By Henny from The Hague, the Netherlands on 15-Aug-2023

Henny from The Hague Visited in August 2023 10 stars 10 We have just returned from a great week in this comfortable, fully furnished, authentic farmhouse in a beautiful green location with a magnificent view. The immediate area is quiet but all the nice French villages with terraces and the Dordogne are easily accessible. In addition, with the beautiful summer weather we really enjoyed the shade under the trees by the pool. We felt very welcome, everything had been thought of. Response from Anne-Karen van der Grinten Dear Henny, How nice to read that you enjoyed yourselves so much in our family home in the Dordogne. Always welcome for a next time, kind regards, Anne-Karen
