Description
The stunning Château set in 23 acres with a treelined driveway and total privacy is the perfect setting for a family and friends luxury holiday amongst the french countryside. It has 3 pools with a large, private pool, which is set in a gravelled courtyard and overlooked by an outdoor party barn to enjoy all meals with the view of the chateau and pool to enjoy. A traditional, open-fronted tobacco barn provides a large, shaded area in which to relax in the cool, or play table tennis.The heavily beamed, open-air dining room overlooks the large pond and has views over the fields and open countryside.
There are 3 stone-built barbeques to complete the outdoor experience.
The Château has a very large kitchen and living area, with a traditional wood burner at one end. The kitchen has a double-oven range, all the expected equipment and a huge expanse of granite worktops.
Other rooms include a drawing room, dining room, library, games room with snooker table, 7 very large double bedrooms, 6 en suite shower rooms plus one separate bathroom and a utility room with laundry facilities.
The gardens and fields extend to around 23 acres. This historical building has been lovingly restored to protect its history but to provide all the modern comforts and amenities that make this such a unique luxury experience. Guests return year after year and it is only available due to new owners with significant improvements being made to add to the elegance and style of the building and grounds. The local area of market towns, golf courses, spas, cycling, running trails, walking, vineyards, restaurants and local events makes it a truly special place to visit. We had an Incredible time
By Lou Watt on 14-Sep-2026Château Degay was the perfect venue for our holiday with our group of 7 families. We had an incredible time. The château is huge, very welcoming, and has everything you could need. The kids spent hours in the pool while the adults chilled alongside it. It’s a fantastic base for exploring the area; we loved visiting nearby medieval villages, browsing local markets, and eating out at local cafes. We also treated ourselves to a delicious meal cooked at the château by Fields of Flavour, which was a real highlight. Vanessa was fantastic from start to finish and answered all of our pre-arrival questions quickly. Highly recommended for any special gathering!

THE SURROUNDING TOWNS AND VILLAGES PROVIDED BOTH SCENIC VIEWS AND HISTORICAL INFORMATION AND A VARIETY OF SPORTS WERE READILY AVAIABLE. ALL WITHIN EASY REACH BY CAR. THE ON SITE MANAGEMENT TEAM OF SEAN AND CLAUDIA WERE VERY GOOD AND ALWAYS ON HAND TO OFFER ADVISE AND ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS WE HAD. THE OWNERS (VANESSA)WERE ALSO VERY HELPFUL THROUGHTOUT OUR INITIAL SEARCH AND BOOKING PROCEDURE AND AGAIN ANSWERED ALL OUR QUESTIONS PRIOR TO FINALISING THE BOOKING AND PROVIDED ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT EVENTS IN THE AREA DURING OUR STAY. ALL IN ALL I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY FOR A HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE.
