Cottage in south west France, near Duras, Aquitaine, France. lovingly restored, set in private garden overlooking the picturesque Dropt Valley. 4 kilometres from the Dordogne.WEEKS IN SEPTEMBER QUOTED AS £740 WILL BE REDUCED TO £670.
Whether you are looking for a romantic setting, a base for sightseeing or a lovely situation where you can relax by the pool, Les Costes fits the bill. Surrounded by beautiful countryside within easy reach of picturesque villages many housing colourful markets and providing a variety of restaurants.
Situated in a small tranquil hamlet of just 6 houses on a no through lane overlooking the picturesque Dropt Valley this lovely stone cottage is ideally located between Eymet, a 13th century bastide town in the Dordogne and Duras with its beautiful chateau in the Lot and Garonne.
The cottage is set in a private garden, with private terrace where you can eat al fresco. There are table, chairs and sun recliners where you can relax amongst the lilac and various fruit trees which not only provide a lovely natural shade but where you are welcome to enjoy the fruits namely, cherries, figs, plums and apples as they ripen.
The pool is occasionally used by us Yvonne and Paul (although we have no need to be in the pool whilst you are using it) and around the pool we provide sunbeds, tables and chairs exclusively for your use. Bicycles are available so that you can enjoy and explore the Dropt valley and the vineyards/area.
If you don't know this area you will be surprised at how many beautiful medieval villages and towns are dotted around many hosting jazz and medieval festivals. Alternatively relax in the peace of the countryside and enjoy a book and /or a glass of wine around the pool, in the garden or wander around our 2 acres.

A lovely place to stay
By Julia Jewsbury on 12-Sep-2026We enjoyed our week in our little/not so little gite! The owners were great hosts offering a welcome glass of rose as soon as we arrived. Great communication throughout, lots of good recommendations for where to visit and the loan of bikes to explore the area. We had a great week in Pardaillan and came away with some of Yvonne’s fig jam which was delicious and some interesting insights into living in France thanks to wonderful hosting!
Peaceful & tranquil cottage

The cottage is perfect for a couple, plenty of room and absolutely everything one could want from self catering accommodation. Yvonne and Paul are the most perfect hosts … there when you need them but never encroaching on one’s privacy. The swimming pool is gorgeous and a good size too and kept spotlessly clean. Pardaillon is a good location, very near to the town of Duras, Eymet is very nice and only about fifteen minutes drive. We visited plenty of other places too and can recommend Bergerac, Perigeux and St Foye Le Grande and absolute musts are Issigeac & Montpazier Very much our favourites. Good markets too at all those towns. We literally can’t speak highly enough of Les Costes for a perfect French 🇫🇷 getaway
A lovely getaway cottage

It is comfortable and well equipped and the English owners Yvonne and Paul are extremely approachable and hospitable whilst giving you the space to enjoy your stay.
Ideal property for visiting the region with extremely helpful on site owners.

High quality cottage in a great location

The cottage is equipped with everything that you could need, including British TV channels. The pool was a lifesaver in the hot weather. There is a huge amount to do in the local area and we were able to cycle, walk, eat out and visit several beautiful towns and markets. Highly recommended.
