Las Cabanes is a spacious, comfortable, family friendly self catering property and cozy cottage sleeping 15 in 7 bedrooms plus 4 babies in cots. Private 10 x 5 m pool with shallow steps and extensive gardens and grounds all for your exclusive enjoyment in an easily accessible part of SW France. Solar cover to heat the pool.
Smaller group? You are very welcome, just contact us for a small group price. You will still have the whole place to yourselves. Larger group? Contact me to discuss as we have sofa-bed and folding beds.
What makes us unique is the fabulous setting, the whole place to yourselves, large private pool with roman steps for the little ones to paddle, great views and able to comfortably accommodate and entertain a large group of 15 plus 4 babies with a vast array of baby, toddler and child equipment provided. In addition, the cozy studio cottage with air con, included in the rental is very popular with grandparents or others wanting a little quiet space slightly separate but still very much part of the main group. Children love to feed and pet the friendly animals and egg collecting too. With grounds designed for outdoor living and sociable spaces like the summer kitchen and multiple large terraces with comfy seating you can truly relax and enjoy precious time together. There's grassy areas for ball games and outdoor play areas too. With 20 years experience, offering baby and family friendly holidays you are in safe hands.
THE LOCAL AREA
A 10-minute cycle ride (bikes provided!) finds the pretty village of Le Temple-Sur-Lot with riverside walk, restaurants, grocery shop, organic shop, ornamental gardens to visit and access to the River Lot. Slightly further are the larger villages of Castelmoron and Sainte Livrade both with the full range of amenities.
Locally there is so much to explore from beautiful villages like Pujols and Monflanquin, many bustling markets including Eymet, Praysass and Villeneuve-sur-Lot, great food and wine at local restaurants, cafés, boulangeries and vineyards , river based activities at places like Castelmoron, Buzet, Nerac and Villeneuve Sur Lot, vibrant cities like Bordeaux, Toulouse and Agen and much more. If you fancy some pampering there are spa treatments available locally. Check out our website or youtube channel for lot's more information on this fabulous area. I recommend a car to get the most from your stay.
For children there are varied local activities to keep them entertained including, children's farms, tree top adventure parks, theme parks and much more. We also have chickens and guinea pigs on site for little ones to feed and collect their eggs.
THE PROPERTY
The charming characterful and spacious property is situated 50-metres back from a very quiet country lane in a picturesque private valley with no through traffic and panoramic views across meadows, fields, vines and orchards.
The property retains all its rustic charm with exposed beams, terracotta or wooden floors and exposed stonework but has all the mod cons and facilities you need for a family holiday.
The main house has 6 bedrooms and the cozy studio cottage has an additional bedroom, all on the cooler ground floor, and 5 bathrooms, of which one has a bath tub, whilst the others have showers. Thick stone walls and terraces ensure the property stays cool year round.
The studio cottage is detached from the main house, but only 15m away, with its own private garden and is a real hit with grandparents or anyone wanting a little space and privacy from the main group plus aircon too in this cottage.
The Farmhouse is entered via a vine covered terrace into the rustic country kitchen with exposed beams and terracotta floors and plenty of storage space for essential supplies. The Kitchen is well equipped with stainless steel 5-ring gas cooking range, Bosch dish washer, washing machine, 2 large fridge freezers, microwave, coffee maker, cookery books, table and chairs.
There's a huge comfortable lounge and entertainment area to the first floor with leather sofa seating UK freeview TV, DVD and a range of books, games and toys for all ages as well as additional dining facilities and full size pool table and table football for friendly competitions!
The accommodation is adjacent to the pool terrace with access to the large, 10x5m private alarmed solar heated pool, multiple sun terraces and children’s play area with swings, slides, play house, ride ons etc.
There are extensive mature gardens and lawns for ball games, several sunny and shaded seating areas, a covered barn summer kitchen/dining area and both gas and traditional barbecues.
The owners provide bikes and outdoor play equipment for all ages. And all of this is for your exclusive use.
Behind the owners accommodation there is a chicken coop where guests are welcome to come and feed the chickens or collect their eggs. We also have guinea pigs to feed and handle.
The owners Julie and Steve live discreetly on site, helpful and on hand when needed but otherwise largely invisible so you can truly relax and enjoy the whole space.

FABULOUS
By Heather Butler on 08-Aug-20263 generations. Antiques in the lovely air-conditioned annex, 2 sons, their wives and 6 grands aged 7-13 in the main house. Had a ball. The farmhouse was spacious and full of nooks and crannies, swiming pool was lush, especially in the heat wave. We visited evening market at Pujols, kayaked on the River Lot, enjoyed the lily farm that stocked Monet's garden in Paris, ate amazing crepes at local restautant. Steve and Julie were on hand if we needed anything. One week was brilliant but enough - we would have run out of local things to do for a second week.
What a wonderful place for a family holiday
By Elisabeth Smith on 22-Jun-2026We were looking for a place for 11 family members to celebrate our Golden Wedding Annivresary, a 40th birthday and a 4th birthday and we were so lucky to find Las Cabanes. Even though it was in the middle of a heatwave (40+), the location is so peaceful and beautiful and Julie and Steve have have thought of everything a large party such as ours could possibly need. We all said it felt like a real 'home from home' but with the added benefit of a lovely swimmming pool. There was plenty of space for us to enjoy and relax and our youngest family member loved it so much we had trouble persuading her to get into the car to go back to the airport! 'The whole experience will live with us for a long time and we will certainly return.

Making memories
By Elaine on 10-Aug-2025In temperatures around 40 degrees we have the best family holiday. Our family of 15 from 9 months to 85 years loved our week there. The outside areas pool,gardens covered barn were perfect for us all. The inside of the house is comfy and homely we felt it was family friendly from toddler to teens. You definitely need a car to get about and for supermarkets which were well stocked. We had a fabulous day at lac du lougrette and a lovely evening at villeneuve sur lot.Thank you Julie and Steve
Lovely Holiday

We were 3 generations - 6 adults and 3 young children. In particular we loved all the different areas to sit and enjoy the stunning views, even while we barbecued! Thank you for a lovely relaxing holiday.
Excellent holiday
By Richard on 02-Aug-2025From our first enquiry about the house to leaving at the end of the holiday, the service we received from the owners Julie and Steve was first class. The house itself is perfect for a multi generational stay. It has everything one would need for a relaxing holiday. We had very good weather so the pool was well used, and there are also many areas for shade and quiet times. As the bedrooms are on the ground floor, they remained cool all day and night. Children loved the games areas and the Guinea pigs and chickens, and the adults enjoyed the sheltered dining area with bbq and fridge! Set in lovely surroundings, we used the free bikes to visit the local village in the morning, about 10 mins ride. Owners were very discreet, but were around to answer any questions we had. Steve kindly booked an airport taxi for us, when our French failed us. Have stayed in a number of French homes in the past. This was definitely the best.

The perfect place for the whole family
By Nick and Caroline Johnson and family on 27-Jul-2024We had a marvellous week's family party at this wonderful house with extensive gardens, wonderful views and a magnificent pool. We were a party of 15 - children ranged from 2 to 14 and Julie had something and places to go for all these age groups. This included toys, swings and slides to a pool table, football goal, darts etc. The extra separate 'granny and grandpa' cottage suited us perfectly. The pool is beautifully looked after, as is everything by Julie and Steve who live on site but quite discreetly. No requests were disregarded. We heartily recommend Las Cabanas.
