Description
Chez Roullett is a 17th Century detached stone cottage set in several acres with wonderful views. An ideal honeymoon location or haven away from life’s hustle & bustle. Guests here can enjoy the tranquil setting with good food and wine just minutes away. The cottage has recently been fully renovated and provides excellent accommodation for 2 adults, it comprises: - mezzanine bedroom with fabulous views across the valley, kitchen/diner, shower room, sitting room with door to private south facing terrace and beautiful views over the countryside. The cottage is furnished and equipped to a very high standard including:- fridge, oven, hob, toaster, coffee machine, UK FreeSat satellite, TV/DVD, Bluetooth Radio and WiFi. You also have your own heated swimming pool set in its own garden. The pool and garden are completely private and not overlooked.Chez Roullett is over 300 years old and is not suitable for people with mobility problems it is also only suitable for 2 adults.
All Egyptian cotton linen is provided as are all towels (including pool towels).
- Cars can be parked under cover in the garage out of the sun.
- Sun umbrellas, garden tables & chairs and sun loungers are provided.
- The setting is very peaceful, you can sit outside and admire the wildlife or, if you feel energetic, you can go on a walk down to the river or around the area, there are a number of pretty walks/cycle rides from the property.
Local towns.
4Km. Montpezat de Quercy which has a small supermarket, bakery, Post Office, hairdressers, bank and a pharmacy. As well as a bar and 3 restaurants.
8Km. Castelnau-Montratier there is a butchers, 2 bakers, pharmacy, paper shop, 2 banks and a large supermarket with petrol. It also has 3 restaurants.
With regard to Covid-19. We only rent out our cottage for a maximum of 12 weeks a year. We use Silentnight Anti-Allergy pillow and mattress protectors and between each guest we deep clean the cottage to make it as anti-Covid-19 as possible.
We only rent from Saturday to Saturday. June & September £750 p/w, July & August £850 p/w.
Simply Owners are proud of their reputation as a safe site and will issue a Payment Protection Certificate to holidaymakers upon booking.

Perfect peace
By Phil on 31-Jul-2027This is our second summer at Chez Roullett. A perfect tranquil spot to unwind. We spent hours enjoying the view from the balcony. The pool is a wonderful place to cool off. The house is idyllic and immaculately clean. We enjoyed ourselves so much we have already booked to go back next year. Can't wait. Steve and Gaynor are fantastic hosts and ensured we had a great experience.
Wonderful place to stay

Steve and Gaynor and clearly experienced hosts and the property itself and the location were everything we needed for a proper unwind. We genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better place for our holiday. Despite some challenges (including the water going in the whole area for a day and the incredibly hot weather), our holiday wasn’t hindered one bit. The property is finished to a very high standard and incredibly clean. The local area has lots to see and do; balanced with time by the pool. Thank you Steve and Gaynor for offering this beautiful retreat.

Beautiful
By David and Ann on 04-Jul-2026A wonderful place to rest, relax and explore the beautiful Lot valley. Steve and Gaynor were perfect hosts leaving us to our own devices but with plenty of ideas and suggestions for things to do when wanted. The cottage is well equipped and very clean with everything we needed. A beautiful terrace gives wide ranging views across the valley and is a perfect spot for watching the wildlife and enjoying a meal or glass of wine or two. It was very hot during our stay so the pool was wonderful and, like the cottage, well kept . If you like a slice of tranquility this is the place to be.

Gite initiation
By S and D on 30-Aug-2025Having always camped or used B&B before while wandering around France, we decided to try and stand still for a week. This proved just the job, just our level of style, hospitality, peacefulness and countryside, with a variety of climates that allowed for basking as well as comfy hunkering down. We got a good daily work-out, not just from the staircase, but also from the map of local walks we found on offer. The views of lavender, vineyards and rooftops around St Etienne will sustain us through the winter months until we can come down again.
