Description
Cardenard is very tranquil, situated at the end of its own lane, with superb views over the valleys from its commanding position on the edge of the deep valley of the Baye. The aerial view in the gallery of photos shows all the property, with its main house, cottage and a number of outbuildings. It is surrounded by farm land about 4 miles north of the unspoiled village of Verfeil-sur-Seye, which has an excellent bakery and general store. Larger towns are within easy reach. It is our family's second home; the main house is comfortably furnished and fully equipped accommodating at least twelve people, with the option of four more in the cottage. This is not let separately, but is ideal as an overflow from the main house for members of the party, such as older teenagers, grandparents or an au pere, who may want to be separate. There is a large salon with an imposing fireplace and a fully equipped farmhouse kitchen with a table seating twelve or more. There is a 12 x 6 metre swimming pool, a large sun terrace, a pergola, shaded with vines and a barbecue. In a corner of the garden, there is a further terrace overlooking the valleys which is ideal for al fresco breakfasts.21 Reviews
Just perfect
By The Smiths on 01-Aug-2026We can’t ask for a better base for our holiday. The house has so much authentic French character and was perfect for relaxing and spending time together. It’s extremely comfortable and thoughtfully equipped, which made staying there so easy, particularly when cooking and enjoying evenings at the house. The surrounding countryside is stunning and there’s a great choice of pretty villages, towns and activities within easy reach. Cardenard is one of those places where you immediately feel at home — we happily come back here again and again
A beautiful family holiday

Cardenard is set amongst beautiful rolling farmland and feels wonderfully peaceful and secluded, without being miles away from everything. The house itself is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped — it genuinely feels like a home rather than a holiday rental, with a gorgeous pool overlooking g the valley. There’s loads to explore in the surrounding area, from medieval villages and local markets to restaurants, walks and days out. We had a brilliant stay and can’t wait to come back, we would definitely recommend it!
Cardenard is the best

It’s our second year running at this gorgeous traditional French house, full of character and charm, but also really comfortable and incredibly well equipped with everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. The setting is just beautiful, surrounded by peaceful countryside, yet there are so many lovely villages, markets and places to visit nearby. It really is a little slice of rural French heaven. We were very sad to leave and would return in a heartbeat!

An unforgettable family holiday!
By The Edwards on 28-Jul-2025The house was perfect for our group of 20, with spacious bedrooms, a brilliantly equipped kitchen, and so much room for everyone. The terrace and pool area were simply stunning, with views that took our breath away. We loved exploring the local market towns, sampling incredible food and wine (the tomatoes alone were unforgettable!), and then coming back to relax in such a beautiful setting. It was everything we’d hoped for and more. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate time together as a family.
A truly special family holiday

There were 20 of us ranging in age from 2 to 76, and the house had everything we could have wished for. The main house was huge, with five spacious bedrooms, and the adjoining cottage provided two more, giving us plenty of space. The kitchen was wonderfully well stocked—literally everything you could possibly need was provided, which made cooking for such a large group a pleasure. The outside space was just as impressive, with a stunning terrace and a beautiful pool overlooking the most breathtaking views. We spent countless hours enjoying the sunshine, swimming, and sharing meals together. The local area was also a delight—charming market towns, amazing food and wine, and the freshest tomatoes we’ve ever tasted! This was a truly special family holiday, and the farmhouse provided the perfect setting for us all to come together. Highly recommend!
