Le Cottage Bleu is a peaceful single-storey holiday cottage in the South Vendée, ideal for couples and small families looking for space, tranquillity and their own private pool. The highlight is the large 10 x 5m swimming pool, exclusively for guests staying at Le Cottage Bleu, together with an enclosed, tree-filled garden, terrace and several areas for outdoor dining and relaxing. Inside, exposed stone walls and wooden beams give the cottage plenty of character, while the accommodation is comfortably equipped for longer stays as well as shorter holidays. The cottage is officially classified 3-star under the French furnished holiday accommodation scheme. Up to two dogs stay free of charge, with an enclosed garden and a range of useful dog-friendly equipment provided. We live in a separate house on the same property, so we are nearby if you need help, local recommendations or information during your stay, while respecting your space and peace and quiet. The swimming pool is exclusively for your use.

Le Cottage Bleu is in Lairoux, in the South Vendée, well placed for exploring both the Atlantic coast and the Marais Poitevin. The nearest beaches are around 20–25 minutes by car, with La Tranche-sur-Mer, La Faute-sur-Mer and other coastal resorts offering long sandy beaches, markets, restaurants, watersports and seaside walks. The Marais Poitevin is ideal for walking, cycling and traditional boat trips. For days out, O’Gliss Park is around 16 minutes away, O’Fun Park around 18 minutes and Atlantic Wake Park around 21 minutes. There are also castles, wildlife attractions, karting, golf, fishing, markets and many villages to explore. The Puy du Fou can be reached in around 1 hour 10 minutes. A countryside walking path is approximately 300 metres from the cottage, making it easy to head out for a local walk, including with a dog. Shops, supermarkets, bakeries and restaurants are a short drive away, and we are always happy to share our favourite local addresses and suggest outings to suit your interests. A car is recommended for making the most of the beaches, shops and attractions of the Vendée.

Le Cottage Bleu is a single-storey cottage of approximately 85m². The living area has exposed stone walls and wooden beams, comfortable seating, television and direct access to the terrace. There is a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, electric oven, four-ring gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and coffee-making facilities. The main bedroom has a 160 x 200cm double bed, storage and direct access to the terrace. The second bedroom has two single beds and storage. The shower room has a walk-in-style shower with hand shower and rainfall shower head, washbasin, heated towel rail and hairdryer. There is also a separate WC. Bed linen, bath towels and kitchen linen are provided. Fresh bed linen is also supplied weekly for longer stays.

Guests have exclusive use of the private 10 x 5m swimming pool, with sun loungers, outdoor furniture and pool toys. Beside the pool is an independent shower room with shower, shower gel and shampoo. The enclosed garden and terrace offer several places to relax or eat outside, including two outdoor dining areas and a barbecue. Wi-Fi is available inside the cottage and extends to the pool area. Indoors there is French television, British satellite television, Netflix and Amazon Prime, books and indoor games. The cottage has heating and both bedrooms have fans. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, including dishwasher, oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, filter coffee maker, cafetière, kettle, toaster and a good range of cookware and utensils. Basic supplies such as salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, herbs, spices, tea, coffee and sugar are provided. For dogs we provide indoor and outdoor bowls, a dog mat, protective throw, towels, waste bags and toys. An agility course and dog paddling pool can also be made available on request, and there is an outdoor hose with shower attachment for rinsing muddy or sandy paws. Private parking is available for two cars.

Check-in is from 4:00 pm. Check-out is by 10:00 am. If you expect to arrive later than planned, please let us know.

Le Cottage Bleu is located in Lairoux, in the South Vendée, France, close to the town of Luçon. A car is recommended for making the most of the coast and surrounding area. By road: the A83 motorway is easily accessible, with Junction 6 approximately 20 minutes away. For guests travelling from the UK by ferry, Lairoux is approximately 3 hours from St Malo, 5 hours from Cherbourg and 6 hours from Calais. By air: La Rochelle Airport is approximately 45 minutes away and Nantes Airport around 1 hour away. By train: Luçon is the nearest railway station, with services towards Nantes, La Rochelle and Bordeaux. On arrival, ring at the gate and Christophe will welcome you personally, show you where to park and introduce you to the cottage, garden and swimming pool. Private parking is available for two cars. The cottage itself is single-storey.

A 30% deposit is required to confirm your booking. The remaining balance is due 8 weeks before arrival. For bookings made less than 8 weeks before arrival, full payment is required at the time of booking. A refundable €150 security deposit is payable with the balance. Minimum stays vary by season. A 2-night minimum applies during flexible periods, while selected peak periods require 7-night stays from Saturday to Saturday. Tourist tax is charged separately where applicable. An optional end-of-stay cleaning service is available for €150 per stay. Bed linen, bath towels and kitchen linen are included. Fresh bed linen is provided weekly for longer stays. Up to two dogs stay free of charge.
