Overview
Description
The villa is within walking distance of the medieval hilltop village of Callas with its shops, weekly market, bar and restaurants.. The closest airport is Nice, which is around 1hr 15 minutes drive. This elevated, south facing, Provencal style villa, set within 1.2 acres of olive and fruit trees, sleeps 8 and is ideal for families wishing to enjoy the beaches of the Cote D'Azur or the host of activities available in the Gorges du Verdon area. The house would equally suit a couple or group of friends, seeking the peace and quiet of rural Provence and excellent food and wine. Please note that, as is very common in this area, the drive is very steep.
During warm weather, enjoy the large, secure, private pool and the breath-taking views from its terrace. The pool house has a fridge for refreshments, toilet and washbasin. Please note, the pool is situated above the house, accessed by several steep and slightly uneven steps, however, its position enhances the views and offers total privacy and is well worth the climb!
There is a large terrace right outside the lounge area where you can dine outside, enjoy a barbecue under the pergola or take an aperitif under the olive trees. The large table seats 8 people.
The lounge/dining room is light and airy in the summer and opens out onto the terrace and garden. In the cooler months, the house is cosy and warm with a wood burning fire.
The kitchen is well equipped and opens to the back of the house. There is a large fridge freezer and pantry.
There are 4 bedrooms in total.
Three bedrooms are located on the ground floor, each one with double doors opening out onto the south facing terrace. There are 2 double bedrooms, one has a double bed, the other is a twin plus a bunk-bed room, along with the bathroom with bath and shower plus a downstairs toilet.
The 1st floor master bedroom has a king size bed and an en-suite bathroom with separate bath and shower. It also has a roof terrace where you can enjoy fresh croissants for breakfast whilst taking in the stunning views of the countryside and the village or take an aperitif in the evening, watch the sunset reflect red on the Gorges de Pennafort and admire the floodlit village church.
There is a downstairs bathroom with bath and shower, and also a separate toilet.

Wonderful 3 weeks – felt like 2!
By Ray Family on 25-Jul-2026Had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. Rosé restaurant, great food and atmosphere, Draguignan (American comedy?) Montagne, lots of markets. The views at the Montagne de Ste Rosé. Nice, beautiful beaches and restaurants. The house and pool are amazing and we would definitely come back. The local market in Ste Maxime is great. Carrefour is huge – great selection of meat, fruit and vegetables, and lots of local produce. There was a great choice of restaurants in the town.
Really Enjoyed our Holiday Here
By Sykes family on 15-Aug-2026House and pool great. Callas a lovely place to stay. We enjoyed eating at Moulin Des Voisins and Maison Valio in particular. Had a lovely day in Nice, St Tropez, St Maxime. Swimming and boating at Verdon Gorge. The Carrefour at Draguignan is massive, the boulangerie in town excellent! Thank you,
Fantastic family holiday
By Warne Family on 01-Aug-2026Fantastic week for the family. We've had a lovely time exploring the area and relaxing. We spent lots of time in the villa and Fiona was lovely when we arrived, showing us around and giving some advice for the area. We visited Lac St Croix in the Gorges du Verdon and rented a boat. The children loved swimming in the lake. Some day trips to Draguignan and Villecroze. Recommend Les Grottes de Villecroze as a trip out. Very interesting tour and the gardens were lovely. Some great places to stop, which we could have explored more, but we came during a heatwave. Callas was so lovely and we used the boulangerie daily and had a meal at Le Fontaine. Will definitely be back. The Warne family
Another Wonderful Stay
By ROBERT AND LYNDA on 20-May-2025Another wonderful stay at the charming Les Rays with its magical atmosphere and stunning views. We enjoyed a fabulous Friday community gathering in Claviers followed by the Saturday market in Callas with coffee. Then lunch at the Maison Vallio with its babulours views over Pennafort. Epicerie Fine is a great deli with exception cheese, and fresh pasta to take away and enjoy on the terrace at the villa with a glass or two of the local wine from Bastide du Plan. We visited Chateau de Berne for a super bistro lunch and a stroll around the estate. We went over to Saint Tropez for lunch by the sea. We will be back again.
