Description
A spacious and very comfortable holiday home set on the edge of a pretty Breton village, with the beautiful south coast beaches of Lorient just a 30 mins drive away. If you like the beaches of Cornwall then you'll love Brittany!Where are we?
The picturesque and historic village of Kernascleden offers a friendly welcome. Its peaceful setting will help you relax and unwind. The very friendly Le Charly's bar/cafe in the village square serves up pizzas, steaks, burgers and some fabulous daily/evening specials. You can order your daily baguettes from here too!
A fantastic selection of cafes, traditional pubs and restaurants are open for both lunch and dinner in nearby Gumene as well as supermarket, Boulangerie and Boucherie too.
Accommodation layout.
To the ground floor you will find a spacious and very comfortable open plan living and dining room with wood burner and superbly equipped kitchen off.
Three sets of French doors lead out from the living room onto the sunny terrace which overlooks the pool.
A double bedroom with ceiling fan and en-suite bathroom WC (bath with shower over) is located on the ground floor too. There is an additional and very handy WC with basin off the hallway.
In addition, downstairs you will find a games room with pool table and darts board.
To the first floor you will find a choice of bedrooms including a double bedroom with king size bed, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and family shower room WC.
There is a good amount of hanging and drawer space across all bedrooms. Tower fans are provided to upstairs bedrooms for those warmer Breton nights!
Outside you have a private and very sunny terrace with furniture, barbecue and lovely views. Large garden with private heated pool and masses of space outside for rough and tumble! There is also a trampoline with enclosure for the kids to enjoy

Whatever your pleasure, the villages and towns that surround Kernascleden offer everything for families and couples wanting it lively or peaceful and best of all you are welcomed where ever you go in this beautiful part of Brittany.

Fabulously equipped for a relaxing break
By simon collins on 13-Jun-2026Everything you need can be found in this lovely holiday home. There were just two of us staying but if you are taking family with you, this is ideal. Kitchen has everything you need, games both for rainy days and plenty of space and the pool for fun outside. Right on the edge of a lovely village and as others have said Le Charly’s is a two minute walk and is super friendly with excellent food. Location is great for getting to the bigger attractions on the coast, fabulous for bird watching too, the swifts in particular were amazing to watch. Great that there is an electric vehicle charging point in the village too. Bill and Christiane (the owners) were great to speak with in advance and very responsive, as were Richard and his partner who maintain the property and pool etc. all of which makes this property feel like home away from home. When you look on Google maps you’ll see a biggish building to one side, which is actually a garage for a couple of small coaches. They were really quiet and they couldn’t be heard from the house, so don’t let that put you off choosing to stay at Ty Charmian. This is a lovely place to stay and we hope to get back again next year.

Lovely family holiday home
By Deb J and family on 16-Aug-2025We had a lovely chilled week at the house, which is very well equipped. I don’t think there was anything that the kitchen didn’t have ! The beds were all very comfortable and there were lots of different pillows to choose from. That together with the quiet location ensured we had had good nights sleep during our stay. The pool was perfect for cooling off and like other reviews, we thought it was a perfect temperature. The owners were friendly and easy to contact and quick to respond. Le Charlys bar in the village is definitely worth a visit - good quality food and friendly service.
A really great holiday house

The house itself is so well equipped, clean and perfectly located in a beautiful village with a great little bar and amazing church with fantastic frescos. We drove to the beach at kelhou several days which was great but our three children (5,8,10) were equally as happy in the pool. The garden was a great size for garden games like kubbe and badminton too. Really recommend this house
Beautiful, peaceful stay
By Caroline on 02-Aug-2025Our second visit to this perfect holiday home and I’m sure it won’t be our last. A very clean and well equipped home. It is spotless and very well maintained, with has everything you can think you might possibly need. The kitchen a well equipped and there are games, toys, badminton, hammocks to name a few. The owners are very helpful and easy to contact and communicate with. Le Charly’s on the doorstep is very friendly and the food is to a high standard.

By Kate on 26-Jul-2025We all (2 adults, 2 kids) loved staying in this house. The pool was a lovely temperature and we used it everyday - even when the skies were a bit overcast! The house itself is really comfortable, clean and has everything you could possibly need ready and waiting for you. We would all love to go back another time.
