Translation: The house is in very good condition, clean and with everything you need to relax on vacation. The pool is very well maintained and in very good condition. Likewise, the equipment in the outdoor area with table, loungers and parasols.
Set in a rural village about 30 minutes drive from Cognac and Saintes, the house had everything we needed for a short family holiday. The pool is wonderful and was very welcome in the heat. The two double bedrooms were very spacious and the beds extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped as was the whole house. The only things we found lacking were air conditioning, parasols, pool lounger cushions and seat cushions for the garden furniture although not having these did not stop us from enjoying the outside space. Julie, the housekeeper was very friendly and offered suggestions of places to go in the area. We bought delicious croissants and pain au chocolat from the bakers in the village each morning and the pizzas we had from the van on the Monday was very good. We went to Le Palmyre Zoo in Royan and to Fondouce tree top adventure park which were great and definitely worth visiting with children. Overall a great holiday,
This house has lots of rustic ambiance. Plenty of space for families and groups of friends to spread out and enjoy. We enjoyed the pool in the late afternoon , the table tennis table and boules court. We explored rural France from our base in Migron. The Boulangerie was essential and we visited every morning for our croissants, pain au chocolat and baguette. The boucherie was also a bonus and open long hours. We BBQ'd in the evening by the pool after making a platter to go with afternoon drinks with supplies collected from the market. Highly recommended for a relaxing holiday in France with a mix of fabulous wine, food and small French villages.
A charming property. Well fitted, with everything you might need. Beds are extremely comfortable! Lovely shower! Bar room is idea for evening entertaining or relaxing. Pool is a good size & shaded terrace with barbeque perfect for dining on a hot day. Ample parking. Supermarkets are 5-10mins away, as is Ecomusée du Cognac which is well worth visiting. Cognac & other larger towns are 20mins away. The coast is 45m–1hr away. The perfect place to stay for large families or for group of friends. Bernal, who looks after Thouvenin, was extremely helpful. Would thoroughly recommend!
Interesting house in a nice village which has a small shop, excellent boulangerie and a good butcher. The property is well maintained by a helpful local couple ,English speaking, nice pool although no shallow area for small children, and good outdoor space for eating and sitting. The owner was very organised and prompt in the booking process. Highly recommended.
