Description
This beautiful villa Casa Ferradura is surrounded by a large garden full of fruit trees with beautiful views of the hills with its own private pool set within a pond with only the peaceful noise of nature around. It has a large covered terrace seating area, loungers by the pool, and various areas to explore the fruit trees and vines. The setting is stunning and relaxing.The villa comprises of three bedrooms, two bathrooms with a beautiful open plan, double height, large living area and kitchen.
It is in a rural position in the hills along an 8 minute drive of unpaved road known for it’s beautiful walking trails through the Serra ( oak orchards ), yet it is only 40 mins from Faro and 30 mins from Tavira and many beautiful sandy beaches. The local towns of Sao Bras de Alportel and Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo are 10-20 mins away.
The villa is beautifully maintained, simple yet stylish . The main house with its high ceiling open plan sitting room, dinning room and kitchen has one bedroom with a super king bed and bathroom with bath and shower. A few metres away in a separate guest annex there are two more bedrooms, one double and one with two single beds plus a separate bathroom.
There tends to be a welcoming breeze in the hills and it’s easy to end up just relaxing by the pool for days on end enjoying the views and walking in the local area however there are plenty of sandy beaches, bustling towns and activities to explore within an easy drive . There is very good WiFi. Due its location a car is essential
This property is only suitable for adults or families with children who are good swimmers due to the large deep pool and surrounding pond and the bedrooms are in a close but separate building. The pond is full of wildlife including fish, frogs, and turtles
The villa and surrounding area also makes for a perfect winter get away as for those who like hiking and birdwatching and spending the evenings by the large woodburning stove
Over half of our guests have returned for further hoidays

Another wonderful stay

Peace and relaxation
By Katie on 24-Jul-2025What a lovely 2 weeks myself, husband and 3 girls have had. The house is well equiped and beautifully furnished, with all the kitchen facilities you would require. The gardens, pool and nature pool were a highlight for us...the frogs and turtles were cute! The property is well placed to explore Olhao and Tavira and not too far from the waterpark and shopping for the kids. Overall, a relaxing time was had by all. Excellent communication from Andrea too.
Beautiful house
By L&R Greening on 06-May-2025Beautiful, stylish, spacious, immaculate and comfortable house in the hills, with wonderful outside spaces to spend time in. Quality everything. Tranquil and private, nature all around, we loved breakfast on the terrace, relaxing by the pool, walking the many roads and paths in the hills and getting out and about exploring the local towns, villages and coast. Thanks so much Andrea, we simply loved our stay.
Two weeks away from everything
By Marceline Beuret on 21-Mar-2025We spent two wonderful weeks at the Ferradura house. Although the weather was mixed, it wasn't a problem inside. The underfloor heating and the double-sided fireplace in the living room made us forget the cold. We really enjoyed the opportunity to grill and eat outside. The adjoining garden with its many plants, as well as the natural pond, were the highlights for us. Watching the frogs and turtles was always entertaining, as was the frog concert. The drive to the house is no problem and definitely allows you to see a lot of the local nature. Andrea was very attentive from afar and was always available to answer questions. Thank you so much for sharing your house with us. We would love to come back. See you then.
