Description
This beautiful villa Casa Ferradura is surrounded by a large garden full of fruit trees with beautiful views of the hills with its own private pool set within a pond with only the peaceful noise of nature around. It has a large covered terrace seating area, loungers by the pool, and various areas to explore the fruit trees and vines. The setting is stunning and relaxing.The villa comprises of three bedrooms, two bathrooms with a beautiful open plan, double height, large living area and kitchen.
It is in a rural position in the hills along an 8 minute drive of unpaved road known for it’s beautiful walking trails through the Serra ( oak orchards ), yet it is only 40 mins from Faro and 30 mins from Tavira and many beautiful sandy beaches. The local towns of Sao Bras de Alportel and Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo are 10-20 mins away.
The villa is beautifully maintained, simple yet stylish . The main house with its high ceiling open plan sitting room, dinning room and kitchen has one bedroom with a super king bed and bathroom with bath and shower. A few metres away in a separate guest annex there are two more bedrooms, one double and one with two single beds plus a separate bathroom.
There tends to be a welcoming breeze in the hills and it’s easy to end up just relaxing by the pool for days on end enjoying the views and walking in the local area however there are plenty of sandy beaches, bustling towns and activities to explore within an easy drive . There is very good WiFi. Due its location a car is essential
This property is only suitable for adults or families with children who are good swimmers due to the large deep pool and surrounding pond and the bedrooms are in a close but separate building. The pond is full of wildlife including fish, frogs, and turtles
The villa and surrounding area also makes for a perfect winter get away as for those who like hiking and birdwatching and spending the evenings by the large woodburning stove

Amazing break in stunning location

The weather was perfect and we used Andrea’s tips for places to visit. We ate outside every meal and used the pool area and gardens every day. Highly recommend this for a relaxing holiday. Stunning Rural Location
By Katrine Orr on 11-Sep-2026We have returned to this beautiful house in its stunning location as it is so peaceful in the middle of undulating hills and yet by car you can get to so many lovely places. Little boat rides to golden sandy beaches are a must with a drink at the end of the day watching the sun set. There are a plethora of restaurants offering the best fish and if you prefer even the supermarkets have fantastic fresh fish which you can take home and bbq, (the house has all the bbq equipment you need). This place is a fantastic find, thank you so much for yet another amazing holiday.
A peaceful paradise

Initially we were sceptical about the remote location, but it ended up being perfect as it ensured for a truly peaceful atmosphere. The views, walks and pool all contributed to a beautiful and calm atmosphere. We also found the host extremely friendly and hospitable with fast communication, although they’re not onsite any problems were sorted instantly. We will definitely be back!
