Description
Nestling in the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera mountain range in the province of Almeria, Andalucia, is the stunningly scenic hidden valley of Cortijo Grande. The closest airport is Almeria, a 45 minute drive away.Murcia Corvera Airport is approximately an hour and a half and Alicante is two and a half hours drive. Situated just 5.5 kms away is the nearest town of Turre with all amenities including banks, a pharmacy, supermarkets, bakeries, medical centre, police station, fire station, small shops and a plethora of tapas bars and restaurants.
A weekly market is held every Friday morning in the town square.
The renowned whitewashed Moorish village of Mojacar is just 10 kms away and Mojacar Playa with its sandy beaches, chiringuitos and restaurants is a further 2 kms. The fishing port of Garrucha is also only a 14 km drive.
Casa de Ensueño is a beautiful modern villa with ample private parking, stunning 360° views and established gardens. The house itself is approximately 320m2 on two levels, although most of the rooms are on the ground floor with good wheelchair access including two ramps at the side of the house and one at the rear.
The property sleeps 11 or 12 depending on number of couples and number of children . Please consult.
There are four bathrooms. Three ensuite and the fourth is shared between bedrooms 2 and 3.
The ground floor area has underfloor heating powered by a heat pump and photovoltaic system incorporating solar panels. Air conditioning units are fitted in all rooms.
Fibre-broadband internet is excellent throughout and there are also ethernet wall ports in most rooms.
There are currently two Android smart T.V.'s with Netflix, Amazon Prime , You Tube etc and the large TV in the main lounge has hundreds of international T.V channels.
An extensive south-facing pool terrace and barbecue area provides a focal point for al fresco dining and relaxation in spectacular surroundings, while the glass-panelled pool surround affords uninterrupted mountain views. The pool has a shallow end with steps suitable for children, progressing to a deep end. There is a shaded seating and dining area, gas barbecue and gas plancha, with additional seating and sun-loungers. A quiet garden area can be found at the side of the property with additional access to 3 of the bedrooms.
An area of outstanding natural beauty, Cortijo Grande and Cabrera boast a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna with significant populations of wild boar and ibex as well as protected species such as the Moorish tortoise, Iberian imperial eagle and golden eagle.
The property is completely private, and not overlooked in any way.
Restaurante Almazara is less than 2 kms away and Restaurante Riad Cabrera is a 5 km drive upwards into Cortijo Cabrera.
There are various golf couses within 30 minutes of the property and for those looking for more excitement you won't have to look too far. Quadbike tours, paintball and archery are just some of the activities available less than a ten minute drive away at "Extreme Adventure".
Mojacar Playa is home to windsurfing, kayaking, sub-aqua diving and other water activities.
The fishing port and marina at Garrucha provides local boat and fishing trips. A large water park can be found at Vera Playa.
A 50 minute drive around the coast to Carboneras brings you to a jet-ski centre and more boat trip companies.
A bit further on in Cabo de Gata are more sub-aqua diving opportunities within the subaquatic natural park.
And for those looking for winter sports the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada near Granada are easily accesible in less than three hours by car.

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the house. All cigarette butts must be disposed of in outside ashtrays or fire bucket. It is an offence to throw cigarette ends from a vehicle window or drop butt's on the ground in an area of extreme fire risk.

By Mark & Lianne on 25-May-2025What a beautiful home! Tranquility, spacious, incredible views and if lucky, wildlife, including Ibex, in the garden! We thoroughly enjoyed the welcome and the stay. What a place and great hosts! We've already booked our next stay this year and already look forward to it! It is set in the beautiful area of the Cortijo Grande with loads of stuff to experience in close reach.

By Karin on 19-May-2025Villa is in het echt ruimer dan op de foto. Vrij uitzicht over prachtige natuur. Heerlijke plek om helmaal tot rust te komen. Je hoort alleen de vogels fluiten. Perfect zwembad, ons volgend bezoek is al weer geboekt.

The property has everything you need for a home away from home. We were lucky enough to meet the owner of the property and the welcome was amazing. Easy communication throughout the holiday booking and the holiday itself. Do not be fooled by the images, this property is a luxurious villa with everything! 5 STARS for sure.
