Description
El Monte Bajo is an enchanting traditional style spanish finca (farmhouse) set one level with three (or four spacious bedrooms) all en suite. Properties like this are difficult to find.This is 'rustic luxury', perched on a hillside above Nerja (Malaga) in southern Spain with panoramic views of the coastline. It has high ceilings and whitewashed timbers, it's recently restored magnificent kitchen is the hub for family life. There a multiple sun patios and a tropical garden plus 'La Cabaña, a shaded poolside are with drinks cooler, streaming music facilities, a w/c and shower.

There are unbroken panoramic views of the coastline and Sierra Almijara mountains. The tropical garden, palm and fruit trees where organic olives, citrus, avocado, almonds, figs and mangos grow all around.
El Monte Bajo is south facing, 1km. from the nearest beach & 5 minutes drive from the quaint former fishing village of Nerja (province of Malaga). It is perfect for a group of 4 to 6 adults and children. ( As an option we can accommodate a group of up to 8 people with our extra independent suite). The villa itself is stunning
By Charles on 11-Mar-2024We (myself, daughter Anna and good friend Lauren) arrived after dark a week last Saturday and were immediately captivated by the illuminated gardens,the mountains beyond and the dark sea and lights of Nerja below.The villa itself is stunning with its rustic yet chic style. The following morning only entranced us more with blue skies and warm sunshine and with the gardens and views fully revealed.In addition the resident,and charming, black cat (whom we named "Jorge")cordially greeted us on the terrace,as he would every morning. We proceeded to enjoy a wonderful week at El Monte Bajo and have nothing but praise for Danny and his staff who have created a small slice of Paradise in southern Spain.

The garden is stunning, as are the furnishings crockery & decor of every room, it’s certainly very home from home & has a great atmosphere. Danny is really responsive with any queries you may have. A truly wonderful experience

Stepping through the gate to reveal the garden and view to the sea & valley around Nerja was magical every time we returned. The home itself is tastefully arranged, well maintained with all the equipment you need to enjoy being on vacation. We were fortunate enough to have an extended stay and were thankful for the local folks that support Danny to keep the place immaculate. Don’t hesitate to reserve your time here, particularly if you prefer quality and serenity.
Slice of paradise

The villa was perfect, with high quality and unique fittings and furniture; the kitchen was well kitted out for cooking; the beds were comfortable and the showers super! And then the garden – this is an oasis that has been so well thought out for all the senses – sight, sound and smell. Danny and the team were very responsive but unobtrusive. Highly recommend!

The property was clean, beautiful, and thoughtfully prepared with all amenities catered for. We especially loved the charm of the place, along with its fantastic view and perfect location—it really made the experience special. A lovely touch was the arrival food, including a delicious tortilla, which we truly appreciated after travelling. The host was also very responsive and helpful whenever we needed anything, including quickly resolving an unforeseen hot water issue caused by a storm – without any hassle. We stayed as a large family to celebrate our mum’s 70th birthday, along with a 3-year-old child, and the property worked perfectly for all of us. It was comfortable, welcoming, and ideal for a family gathering. We would absolutely stay again—thank you for such a memorable experience!
Rustic farmhouse

We have now stayed at Monte Bajo for two weeks - a family of six adults and two young children - and the property was perfect. The house is a gem with lots of interior details eyes can enjoy, and the garden is a fairytail. Especially in the night when it's lit up by the coloured lights. In addition you have all the scents & sounds. I'll never forget the evenings when the frogs started to chatter or sing or whatever they were doing - it was beautiful! We were also accompanied by five kittens and their mum - cat food were found in the basement. A big hug to Danny who is the perfect host: From the generous welcoming basket in the kitchen when we arrived, to all the help and good advice during the stay. We certainly dream of coming back.
