Al Ladino is a 2 bedroom rustic casita carefully restored by some of the finest craftsmen in Andalucia. Both bedrooms are 'en suite'. It's good for up to four people.
The lounge, dining, kitchen & bedrooms enjoy unbroken sea views of the coastline from perhaps the best vantage point in the area. There is a private pool and much privacy but just 5 minutes by car from town. The nearest beach is 1km away.
The property has a rustic andaluz feel thanks to the local stone & antique wood, it has charm, warm energy, subtle comforts & space to relax. Both double bedrooms have ensuites. The central open plan salon of some 60 square metres (~650 sq ft) is a space with a magnificent high ceiling separated into a kitchen area, dining room & lounge. There is a dishwasher, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, cooking hob & small oven in the kitchen. Footsteps away, burrowed out of the stone hillside is a cave, santised and converted into a laundry room.
For the winter months, the open plan salon has a 360 degree estufa/chimenea spreading warmth to virtually the whole property. There are panoramic views of the bay around Nerja and the Sierra Almijara mountains with the lighthouse in the fishing village of La Herradura some 20km away clearly visible from the lounge & patios.
There is wifi internet and meals can be prepared by one of our local chefs.

From the patio there are panoramic views of the mountains, the sea and the town of Nerja.
The property is well maintained and will suit a couple or up to four friends who want to relax in a tranquil rural setting while at the same time being close to the facilities of Nerja, 10 minutes away by car.
The gardens with many mature shrubs and trees are well cared for by a highly respected local gardener There is outdoor lighting to the patio, including concealed illumination in the garden shrubs which makes for a perfect evening sitting out especially during the warmer months and gazing across the panoramic views with the lights of Nerja glistening in the distance.
This charming property sits above a pine forest and while situated on the same estate as our neighbouring property, the rustic farmhouse, it has its own full privacy, it's own private pool and entrance and multiple patios.
A local Spanish neighbour, Miguel said to me ‘You little house is ‘encantadora’, so charming but it reminds me of the pueblo where I grew up and the days when we were poor’. He then proceeds to tell me about the days years ago when he watched the cottage being built, he tells me about the people I bought the property from 20 years ago and about the famous Nerja family who sold it to them. Very quickly you’re getting a history of the last 50 years of what was a desolate hillside without people! The truth is there’s been not much happening around the area for the last 50 years, certainly not enough to fill a page. On your way to the house, you follow a twisting road, past some white houses built some 15 years ago and then round a few additional bends but all on a pristine cement road and eventually you reach the stone wall to the exterior of the property. it looks intriguing from the outside but modest in keeping with the country surrounds but the moment you push open the creeky metal garden gate, the world changes. Panoramic views to make you gasp and a home some overflowing with charm with every attention to detail in its construction from local stone and antique wood.
The nearest Spanish neighbour is 300 metres away – Antonio, a local dentist. You may see Paco grazing his goats every afternoon after his siesta. He always has 20 minutes to stop and chat. Then there’s the small stout man on his modest moped who tends his little orchard every day – avocados and mangos are his speciality.
And that’s about it, there’s usually little noise to speak of unless there’s a fiesta in the town or some other unexpected celebration, in which case you’ll see the night sky light up with fireworks!
Oh yes, don’t be surprised to see Gustavo, the gardener creep in quietly to do his twice weekly maintenance and then there’s Jose, pool cleaner and odd job man for the last decade and a half. Fortunately, the team share our passion for the rustic cottage and the farmhouse nearby.

We advise that you should rent a car as the property is 5 minutes up a hillside and (walking doesn’t suit everyone). I can advise on good car hire options, typically rom around £70 in low season.
