Description
Rated 4* gite with 2 large bedrooms, well appointed 4/6 person gite. Spacious kitchen leading to dining room and separate lounge with wood burner. From the dining area take the stairs to the mezzanine. The first of the 2 bedrooms straight ahead with ensuite and views over the countryside. Across the mezzanine to 2nd bedroom with family bathroom next door. There is a fouton , which can be used for another bed for one adult or small children on the mezzanine. The gîte offers a very open comfortable area and has Smart TV, DVD , Wifi for those who need it.Outside is a large enclosed garden, lots of space for our canine guests, with many walks and cycle tracks.
There is a private pool with solar cover, helps to heat the water.
Great terrace for outdoor living, covered when it gets too hot. There is a quiet policy after 11pm/23.00hr.
The gite is a 10 minute walk into Chabanais with all the amenities, fabulous french bakers and butchers, banks and a large super market just a 5 minute drive.

Beautiful gîte in a cozy town
By Sam Ennis on 15-Aug-2026We arrived at the gîte with Deborah waiting for us at the door, she provided a lovely welcome basket (needed after the long drive!) and had on-hand some local tourism brochures and things to do in the area. The gîte itself was spotless and beautifully renovated, full of French charm but whilst also boasting modern amenities (especially the fast fibre WiFi!) alongside plenty of games and books. We came on this trip to switch off, and this was the perfect place to do it. The pool was a lovely temperature and a great place to cool off during the warmer days, the fans came in very useful to keep cool inside. The bug nets on the windows in the bedrooms were SUPER appreciated as it allowed us to keep the windows open during the night and provided a super comfortable sleep. The kitchen had all the basic essentials (and more) so really saved us some money for those staple items. The local town of Chabanais had a few bakery's, a jewellery shop, a few restaurants/cafes and some lovely walks. We were about a 10-15 min walk from the town center which was extremely convenient. The local Super U shopping center is HUGE and had absolutely everything we needed during our stay, even the harder-to-find accessories like HDMI cables or phone chargers. We had very few issues during our stay, and when we did it was solved within 20 minutes of sending a text. Chabanais is beautiful but if you have a car definitely visit some of the towns around it, there's lots of architecture and history without being a tourist hotspot! All in all, it was a lovely stay and a great place to decompress and relax. Thank you Deborah and Garry for your hospitality!
A little gem
By Sue and Peter on 06-Jun-2026We had a great stay in this lovely house where the discreet and charming owner lives nextdoor. Lots of space inside and out. Comfortable beds and every amenity. The best welcome basket of goodies ever! A refreshing above ground pool which was essential with the heatwave we experienced and lovely walks in the area, just 20 minutes to the village with all amenities. A big supermarket a short drive away. A large private garden and plenty of parking space. Set in a beautiful area. Thoroughly recommended.
A wonderful relaxing place to stay.

Thank you for the welcoming gifts including wine, beers , and even a home made salad. All very much appreciated after a long drive. The gîte offered everything required for a great holiday. The large, bright airy kitchen was well stocked; in fact the whole downstairs area was spacious, comfortable and cool in the extremely hot weather that we had. The bedrooms were large with comfortable beds and the showers in the en suites were excellent. The patio and pool were definitely an added bonus, and the surrounding area provided a tranquil backdrop. You both looked after us very well. All in all a wonderful holiday. Thank you. Au revoir.

relaxing

We arrived home safely about 4.30pm today with the journey in France being, as expected, much less stressful than the English journey! As you know, we loved your gîte - so much bigger than expected, and so we’ll equipped. The photos certainly didn’t do it justice. As I said, it was by far the best gîte we have stayed in and your warm welcome was much appreciated, also your helpfulness when we thought we may not be able to come because of health issues.
