The house is situated in the beautiful southern Charente countryside, close to the Dordogne. Beautiful villages and towns with bars, restaurants, shops and markets are nearby.The lovely village of Aubeterre sur Dronne is a fifteen minute drive with its array of restaurants and bars and a river beach. Less than 90 minutes drive to Bordeaux, St Emilion and Cognac. Two local river beaches, swimming lakes and lots of rural walks. The Atlantic Coast around Royan is worth a drive of one hour and forty five minutes.
Five bedrooms, four double and one with three single beds. Two ensuite bathrooms, a family bathroom and a separate shower room. A huge bespoke kitchen/dining room befitting an old building. A living room, large utility room, open plan galleried landing with its own sitting room and a full height entrance room overlooked by the gallery. Downstairs is mostly open plan. Two gardens front and rear and access to the swimming pool in a nearby paddock,
The house has a modern bespoke, fully equipped kitchen and utility room. Underfloor heating downstairs and aircon upstairs means all seasons are catered for. All bedrooms are large with two stylish en-suites, plus a large family bathroom and a further shower room. The house is furnished with a mixture of old and new furniture in a mostly French style and very comfortable.
Check in is at 4pm, checkout at 11am
We are within sensible driving distance of four airports and the TGV stations of Angoulême and Bordeaux. The drive from Calais is approx nine hours, and from Paris 5.5 hours. Parking on site for several cars.

The area is beautiful and full of delicious and cheap little restaurants. We spent a weekend there with the family, the memories of which will remain etched in our memories torever. Thanks to Barry for this and a kiss to Mozart, the most enduring dog in pool laps I know!
