Welcome to Villa Vounaki – your private retreat in the heart of Kefalonia.Nestled on a secluded 2,000 m² estate at the edge of the traditional village of Makriotika, Villa Vounaki offers peace, privacy, and panoramic views of the lush Pylaros valley, the shimmering Ionian Sea, and the surrounding mountains. This is the perfect place to unwind and experience authentic Greek life—far from mass tourism.
Just a 10-minute drive brings you to the charming harbor of Agia Efimia, with its cafés, restaurants, and shops. The world-famous Myrtos Beach and several idyllic white-pebble coves with crystal-clear waters—ideal for swimming and snorkeling—are also nearby. For a taste of local cuisine, the beloved taverna Maklithari is just a short walk (5 min) from the villa.
The Villa
Villa Vounaki is built and furnished to a high standard, combining traditional charm with modern comfort.
Spread over two floors and approximately 110 m² of living space, the villa is fully air-conditioned (bedrooms and living room) and offers fast, free Wi-Fi throughout.
Upstairs:
• 3 individually styled bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin, 1 single), each with air-conditioning, ample storage,and balconies with sea or countryside views. A hairdryer is in every bedroom.

Outdoor Living
The private pool (4 × 7 m, depth 0.50–1.50 m) is located on the sun-drenched southwest side of the property. Just a few steps lead to a shaded pergola lounge with panoramic mountain views—perfect for relaxing with a breeze and a book.
Two additional terraces (east and west) offer sun and shade throughout the day, furnished with comfortable wooden seating, umbrellas, and a mobile gas grill.
The beautifully landscaped Mediterranean garden features vibrant geraniums, roses, oleanders, and aromatic herbs—creating a serene and fragrant environment.

Wonderful to be situated in a quiet village
By Sahadeva on 13-Jul-2026We loved our stay at Lyda's. It was wonderful to be situated in a quiet village surrounded by gorgeous countryside. You can see the ocean on both sides and trips to the local sights, like Assos and the famous Myrtos beach are within easy driving distance. This was the perfect way to relax! Fun day trips, great cuisine and a lot of chill time in Lyda's wonderful swimming pool. The house was very clean, had everything we needed and Lyda and her husband were always on hand to help if we needed it. I highly recommend this gorgeous and quiet villa. Thanks for a great stay!
Immaculate house, garden and pool area

Eveything about the place was just as described on line, with no surprises or omissions. The host not only communicated with us brilliantly before and during our stay, but also was there on arrival and departure, and came round at once when we accidentally caused a power cut. There were excellent information packs about the house, local restaurants, shops, etc and all the beaches on the island.

By Sarah on 15-Jun-2026What a beautiful villa! Stayed for a week with our two daughters in their twenties. From the start Lyda was so welcoming. There were goodies for our first breakfast and a bottle of wine. The villa was spotless. We even had a cleaner come in after a few days. The setting was stunning wth great views down to the sea and the the nearby town. The location was really peaceful and good for exploring the west coast. We hired a little boat from Agia Effimia from great guy called Jonny. So helpful. The beaches are breathtaking. Not a bad one! We really enjoyed just hanging out at the villa and swam a lot in the pool. We are definitely going to return to this little place of paradise! Thankyou Lyda!

By KJM on 29-May-2026Highly recommend this Villa and its owners to the discerning traveler that wants to appreciate the Island of Kefalonia. It's location in the village of Makriotika provided an ideal base for exploring the island in all directions. The Villa was also a wonderful place to relax for an afternoon - the gardens provided an oasis of beauty and peace. We found that Villa Vounaki more than lived up to the descriptions and reviews that we had read before we arrived!!

By Linda K. on 05-Oct-2025A beautiful week spent at Villa Vounaki with the family. Lida and Peter were wonderful hosts - we arrived to a wonderful greeting from Lida and a tour of the house. There were lots of treats in the fridge to get us started and she was able to recommend local tavernas and a book with restaurant suggestions in the area. The village is very quaint and very quiet - just what we wanted. The villa has a wonderful outlook and views to the coast. We hired a car and this is definitely needed to get around. We visited some marvellous beaches within 15-30 minute drive and plenty of places to eat in Agia Effimia. The villa had everything we needed, the pool area is cosy and plenty of outdoor seating for eating and relaxing. We would highly recommend and will be returning for sure! By Sigrid D. on 04-Oct-2025Wir hatten einen wunderbar erholsamen Urlaub auf Kefalonia! Das Ferienhaus ist sehr gut ausgestattet und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Vermieter Lida und Peter waren unglaublich nette und aufmerksame Gastgeber: der Kühlschrank war bei Ankunft gut gefüllt mit Lebensmitteln. Das Haus wurde zweimal pro Woche gereinigt und die Betten frisch bezogen. Alles in allem haben wir es sehr genossen und werden gerne wieder dort Ferien machen. Einen herzlichen Dank an Lida und Peter für ihre Gastfreundschaft.
