Finished in 2019 in the rural village of Potamianata, overlooking the picturesque Agia Efimia, Portokalia Villa offers a new accommodation experience in Pylaros. Stylish, elegant design combined with top quality modern equipment, a luxury infinity pool and fascinating panoramic views over the virgin scenery of Pylaros: Welcome in Villa Portokalia!
This stunning Villa measures 270 m² and is situated on a tranquil plot of 660 sqm enjoying fascinating panoramic views. A 10 min drive takes you to the popular Agia Efimia with excellent amenities (shops, restaurants, cafés, beaches, boat and car rental, diving school and much more). Two friendly traditional taverns with delicious Greek food and a mini-market are within walking distance from the villa (10 min walk). A bigger supermarket and a bakery are just 5 min drive and the spectacular Myrtos beach 10 min drive from the villa.
The whole villa (apart from the bathrooms) benefits from a modern Air Conditioning/Heating system controlled via a central thermostat. Individual units in each room can be controlled according to your needs.
Indoors there are 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a spacious living/dining area with fantastic views and a modern, fully equipped kitchen.
On the 1st floor there is a master suite with:
super king size bed, en-suite bathroom, 2 air conditioning/heating units, bedside drawers with lamps, free-standing full- length mirror, stool steps, hairdryer, hair straighteners, mosquito repellent machine, bedside clock, walk-in wardrobe (with safe and kettle for that bedtime drink or early cup of tea/coffee).
The en-suite bathroom comprises of a luxury walk in shower, bath complete with shower attachment, toilet, sink, vanity unit, mirror, shelving, towel rail and robe hooks.
The sliding glass doors lead to a spacious furnished balcony with fantastic panoramic sea and mountain views. The shutters for this large window/door can be operated from the bedside and the sunrise is spectacular from this viewpoint.
On the ground floor there are:
1 bedroom with king size bed, en-suite bathroom, air conditioning/heating unit, bedside drawers with lamps, fully fitted wardrobes, full length mirror, stool steps, hairdryer, mosquito repellent machine, bedside clock. There are double French doors leading to the poolside with mountain views.
The en-suite bathroom comprises of a luxury walk in shower, toilet, sink, vanity unit, mirror, towel rail and robe hooks.
1 bedroom with 2 single beds, air conditioning/heating unit, bedside drawers with lamps, fully fitted wardrobes, full length mirror, stool steps, hairdryer, mosquito repellent machine, bedside clock.

A further bathroom (serving this bedroom) with a luxury walk in shower, toilet, sink, vanity unit, mirror, towel rail and robe hooks and a built-in cupboard with iron, ironing board and cleaning utensils and hoover, 2 beach umbrellas and life buoy for the pool.
Living/Dining area:
Decorated in a minimal style the living area provides an “L” shape sofa arrangement with large footstool, Wood burning fire, coffee table and TV bench. Smart TV for internet viewing and listening compatible with your phone or tablet via blue tooth. A wine fridge is provided. There is a large solid wood dining table complete with bench seat and 5 dining chairs, and 2 height adjustable bar stools at the breakfast bar.
Kitchen:
open-plan kitchen of highest standard, perfectly equipped with 5 place induction hob, main oven, microwave combi oven, air fryer (12 litre, double compartment), fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, frappe maker, 4 slice toaster, sandwich toaster, blender, juice squeezer, kettle, iron; crockery, cutlery and glassware; cookware, pots & pans; cool bag and plastic food and drinkware for the beach or poolside.

Villa Portokalia benefits from a luxury 11 meters long infinity pool surrounded by planting and sun terraces. The several seating areas are equipped with comfortable cushions and provide both, sun and shade depending on the time of day. A non-slip tile has been used in the pool, around the pool, and on all exterior steps. The landscape design provides privacy.
A secluded veranda on the first floor, provides further seating facilities with superb views. There is a bench seating, cushions and umbrella with 2 sun loungers and a side table provided for your convenience.
The villa appeals to adults looking for a high quality accommodation with privacy in a typical Greek atmosphere. The property is not suitable for infants and children under 10 years old due to the landscape and architectural design.

A wonderful villa on a wonderful Greek Island
By Barry & Jayne Marsden on 21-Jul-2026We have been visiting Kefalonia on and off for 27 years - always staying in the same villa further down the valley closer to Agia Efimia. That villa is no longer available for rent and therefore we had to choose somewhere new. We didn't think we would find anywhere as good as our previous villa but we needn't have worried because Villa Portokalia is better! Fantastic views down to the sea at Agia Efimia, right in the centre of the island - equal distance from Diverata restaurants and Agia Efimia for all its facilities. The villa itself is an ultra modern, high spec accommodation. Beautiful pool, air con throughout, comfortable beds, in fact everything you could need. Ginny and Justin were 'light touch' hosts who you knew would be there if you needed anything. As with our previous visits to the island, we hired a car and this time round we visited Assos (go early in the morning, to beat the crowds that arrive around 11am), walk up to the castle and walk down on the coastal path for stunning views. We visited Argostoli, where on the quayside you can see loggerhead turtles up close. Argostoli is a buzzing town with lots of coffee shops/restaurants and souvenir shops. Hire a day boat from Johnny in Agia Efimia and visit otherwise inaccessible beaches. Within walking distance of the villa are two rustic Greek tavernas, both of which sell terrific food, especially the meat dishes, but our favourite restaurant of all is Alexandros Myrtos at the top of the Myrtos Beach Road at Diverata, where the food is top notch as is the welcome from Spiridoula and her team. Also at Diverata, there is quite a hipster coffee bar called Myrtillo, well worth a visit. We have found our new Greek holiday home!

Amazing villa with superb views

Great location with easy access to Myrtos and north of island and 10 mins drive to Agia Efimia with shops and harbour front restaurants. Hosts were on hand and responsive for any queries and the welcome pack left on arrival was much appreciated. Finally the pool is stunning - great size and depth with breathtaking views!! Highly recommend this villa!

We love Cephalonia

The Aghia Effimia to Divarata valley is our favourite area and we always stayed in the same villa until recently when it became no longer available to rent. We doubted we would ever find a property as good, but we needn’t have worried because Villa Portokalia is even better. The spec is top notch and the views down the valley to Aghia Affimia are stunning. The Villa is in the middle of the island equidistant from Aghia Effimia and Divarata both of which offer fantastic eateries and beaches, with boat hire available at Aghia Eff. Hire a car and visit Assos ( go early in the morning to avoid the crowds that arrive around 11am) or drive to Fiskardo at the Northern tip of the island - a very pretty port village almost completely unaffected by the 1953 earthquake. Go to Agostoli port and see loggerhead turtles in the sea literally at your feet in the quayside. Cheese is the product of the valley where Villa Portokali is located. Try the barrel aged feta from all the local supermarkets. Our favourite shop for food was the butcher on the quayside in Aghia Effimia- the quality is amazing. The local supermarket near Makryotika is also fantastic and much less stressing than the ones in Aghia Effimia harbour. Our favourite restaurant is Alexandros Myrtos in Divarata for quality and a friendly pleasant welcome from Spiridoula and her guys. The two local restaurants in the village of Makryotika where this villa is situated are both very rustic but the food, in particular the meat, is brilliant, and they are both walking distance from the villa. You could do all or some of those things…. or you could just spend your days relaxing by the pool at the Villa with a drink and a book watching the swallows and listening to the cicadas. It’s our idea of heaven .
An absolutely perfect stay – we can't wait to come back!

From the moment we arrived, Justin and Jinny made us feel so welcome. They are genuinely warm, friendly and thoughtful hosts who are always on hand if you need anything, while still giving you complete privacy to enjoy your holiday. Nothing is ever too much trouble. One of the first things that impressed us was the thoughtful welcome pack waiting for us. Having fresh bread, milk and other essentials ready for our arrival was such a lovely touch, especially after travelling. The villa itself is exceptional. It has absolutely everything you could possibly need—and I really do mean everything! Not only are all the essentials provided, but they've also thought of all those little things that you don't even realise you'll need until you're away from home. It is, without doubt, the best-equipped holiday villa we've ever stayed in. The location is simply breathtaking. Set in a beautiful, peaceful spot with stunning views across the surrounding countryside, it's the perfect place to unwind and switch off. The outdoor space is every bit as impressive as the villa itself. The gardens are beautifully maintained, immaculately presented and incredibly polished, creating a wonderful place to relax. The swimming pool was absolutely amazing and quickly became our favourite place to spend our days, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the spectacular scenery. Every detail of this villa has clearly been carefully thought through, making it feel like a true home from home—but with the luxury of a five-star retreat. Thank you, Justin and Jinny, for making our holiday so special. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Villa Portakalia to anyone visiting Kefalonia, and we will definitely be back. Amazing villa with pool
By Ian Bliss on 16-Sep-2025We absolutely loved the villa—just the two of us, so we felt truly spoilt. Everything had been thoughtfully considered, making it hard to know where to begin! The master bedroom was stunning, complete with a private balcony where we woke each morning to the most glorious sunrise. Beyond the balcony, there was a second outdoor sitting area—perfect for relaxing with a drink or a book. The pool was a dream, with sunbeds positioned to catch the light at every angle. We especially appreciated the attention to detail throughout: the beautifully maintained garden, the lush plants, and the sleek, modern kitchen equipped with everything we needed. It all added up to a wonderfully relaxing stay. We’ll definitely be back!

A beautiful stay in Portakalia villa
By Joanna on 23-Aug-2025We would like to thank Justine, Ginny & Sophia for a fantastic stay in the beautiful villa Portakalia. We arrived to be met by Sophia, who kindly showed us around and talked us through all that we needed to know, the villa surpassed our expectations, and we all felt the photographs did not do it justice! Their attention to detail was superb and they also kindly facilitated our requirements for taking a baby, by buying a cot and highchair. It was our first visit to Kefalonia and we loved it, the restaurants visited/recommended were great and the bakery in the village was exceptional. The villa is also near to some fabulous beaches, but a hire car is needed to get around. Would definitely recommend this villa and hopefully one day we will re visit. Thank you again.
