The Beacon is a spacious barn conversion in a small private complex on the edge of Bigbury-on-Sea. Its open plan kitchen/diner/lounge situated on the 1st floor is a comfortable space for entertaining and for making the most of the fabulous views over the sea and countryside. With vaulted ceilings and exposed beams there is plenty of character to enjoy too. The garden is perfect for storing those all important surf boards and sea kayaks which enable you to make the most of the nearby beaches of Bigbury, Bantham and Thurlestone Sands. Should you not have your own there are hire facilities on many of the beaches. Alternatively, wander out to Burgh Island at low tide (or use the sea tractor for an unforgettable ride) to take a closer look at the Art Deco Burgh Island Hotel made famous by among others Agatha Christie. After a long day of fun why not visit one of the many pubs for dinner or retire to your very patio for a quiet evening meal and a drink or two.
The Beacon has an upside down configuration with the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms all on the ground floor.
Bedroom 1 is furnished with 2 single beds. It benefits from an en suite shower room and has patio doors leading out on to the garden. Bedroom 2 has a double bed and looks out over the front garden. Bedroom 3 has 2 small single beds. Adults can fit but they are better suited to children. The family bathroom is on this floor with bath with shower over.
Upstairs is open plan with the spacious lounge at one end and the kitchen / diner at the other. With exposed beams and views across the water, these rooms are perfect to sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful vista.
The utility room sits off the kitchen and is furnished with a dishwasher, tumble dryer and washing machine.
Outside is an enclosed garden with outside seating and a bar b que.

This was a really lovely property to stay in. Very comfortable with everything you need for an amazing holiday. The views from the windows were stunning and beaches and coastal walks were so close and easy to get to.
Beach within walking distance if you don't mind an uphill walk back .
Lots of lovely places to eat close by

The property is spacious, clean and well stocked with equipment including a dishwasher and tumble dryer. Dogs are welcome and large dog friendly beaches are approximately half a mile walk away. The owner responds to emails very quickly and couldn’t be more helpful. The clubhouse at the local golf club serves excellent meals and The Pilchard Inn is both quant and picturesque. The best takeaway is the Chinese in the next village who deliver and there is a great shop in St Ann’s a short drive away for groceries.
The perfect retreat for a dog friendly holiday

This cottage is very well appointed and perfectly located for a relaxing week by the sea. It is situated right by the Coastal Path at the top of the hill overlooking Bigbury on Sea. The local beach over to Burgh Island is doggie friendly and in walking distabce, and there were plenty of local pubs and places to visit. We will defintely return again soon.

We had a wonderful stay at the Beacon, there was plenty of room for our family of four and a set of grandparents. The house was really well equipped and comfortable, we all liked that the bedrooms were downstairs so we could see the sea from the comfort of the tasteful lounge. Fantastic location with access to beautiful beaches and lovely countryside. We loved the fact that we could walk through the fields to the beach.
Great location to explore South Devon

Great property in a fantastic location. 10 minute safe walk to a beautiful sandy dog friendly beech and a short drive to Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth and Plymouth.
The property has a nice sized enclosed garden which is perfect for dogs.

We absolutely loved our week in the Beacon. The property is well appointed and was roomy enough for a family of 5 (children 5,7 & 8). We spent the days out and about and the evenings walking from the cottage. Down to the sea was easy, across the field for great sunsets. The house has everything you need for a week away to cook in if that is what you want and is cosy enough for everything to cuddle up and play boardgames etc. We would go back in the Winter too however have to say that the log burner really does need to be functioning and this would then make the Beacon an absolute winner all year round. Patsy dealt with our reservation and was very helpful. We will return to this property in the future.
Really lovely comfortable clean cosy cottage in fabulous location
