This cottage is gorgeous. It is actually much bigger than expected and the views of the forest from the house are great. Fay and her family couldn’t have been more welcoming. The cottage is in a great location on the edge of the forest and a short drive from lots of areas of outstanding beauty. We walked 6 miles around Symonds Yat area and ended up in a pub on the river called Saracens head ( recommended by Fay) All bedrooms have ensuites and I have to mention how comfortable the beds and duvets were. We were also very lucky that Fay let us check out later than usual on our last day for no extra charge. You will not be disappointed with this cottage :)
Weekend in a postcard!
By Rebecca Koomen on 01-Sep-2019
Just the absolute most cozy and delightful cottage! Special touches all around like fresh flowers and a welcome basket of delicious local specialties! The beds are like a hug from a group of floating angels. The fireplace makes the whole living space cosy, especially when it’s raining outside. All bedrooms have en suite bathrooms of their own and the windows out back look down onto an apple orchard. It’s like spending a weekend in a postcard. Beautiful hikes all around. What more could anyone want. Thanks so much Fay and fam! We will be back!
Very special place

Fay's place is very special, where do I start... The location is stunning - situated on up on a hill over looking the edge of the Forest of (Website hidden by Airbnb) is just so peaceful. The house itself was so homely and finished to a very high standard... On arrival we were greated with a lovely hamper with bread, eggs a local cider! Along with some scrummy cookies - my family couldn't believe that each room had an ensuite! There is no light or noise pollution at night just silence and the occasional hoot from the local owl. If you want to get away from noise this is the place to come for sure. We booked the trip for activities and family time = no mobiles... Just 5 minutes drive up the road was GoApe at Mallards Pike - that was awesome... I also ran on the sign posted trails there as well... if you dont want to run there, you can follow the trails just outside the front of Fays house... 1 hour away from the house we took part in Gorging, which consisted of walking and jumping off into gorges and waterfalls Contact Michael (Website hidden by Airbnb) check out his (Hidden by Airbnb) to see the photos... We finished off with raft canoeing down the river Wye with (Website hidden by Airbnb) - it was lovely- you get dropped off 7 miles upstream then take your time making your way back to the pickup point - stopping off at a pub and fitting in some rapids on the way down! All safe though - I had my 3 boys with me aged 10,14,17... What more can I say - we will be back! Thanks

A lovely cottage in an ideal location
By A Lovely Cottage In An Ideal Location on 08-Oct-2016
The cottage was cosy and warm with everything we needed. What a treat to have an en suite bathroom to every bedroom, and we enjoyed the open plan living space. There was lots of good walking very close to the cottage and a pub serving good food just 10 minutes walk away. We cooked at the cottage too and found the kitchen to be well equipped. Communication with the owner was very good right from the moment of booking. We would recommend this cottage and hope to return.

A delightful cottage in a beautiful area.
Spotlessly clean,with 3 ensuite bedrooms,very well equipped kitchen facilities,and dining/lounge area.
The cottage has stunning views of the Forest of Dean, and its wonderful to watch the eagles flying overhead, and listening to the dawn chorus.
The owners are very helpful, and on hand to give advice about the surrounding area.
Thankyou for making the booking process so easy and simple, nothing has been too much trouble right from booking earlier on in the year, you are great hosts, and we wish you all the best.
A perfect stay in a lovely cottage
By Ruth K on 22-Jun-2016
We absolutely loved our time in this beautiful home. Arriving to a basket of homemade brownies, cider, fresh eggs and bread set us up for a fabulous three days. The cottage itself has everything you need and is situated in a lovely garden nestled amongst the Forest of Dean. Fay and her family could have been more welcoming or helpful. It's a great location with lots of walks and activities nearby. We would highly recommend staying here.

We were guided by other reviews when we chose this cottage, and we not disappointed! The location is super, especially if you want to walk, run, cycle or canoe. The cottage is fab - the rooms are spacious, clean and beautifully presented with everything you need to self-cater. The owners were very friendly and helpful and we would strongly recommend this property to others.
