Superb setting, beautifully converted to the highest standard, but still keeping some of the original features and its charm. Bishops is an ideal holiday for peace and tranquility in a unique/quirky grade II listed building but only a short drive to all the amenities and attractions this outstanding area provides. The chapel has a wood burner an Aga, full central heating and underfloor heating in the children's bunk bedroom making it really cosy for those romantic winter breaks.
The south facing garden overlooks farmland and the west facing decking is delightful, you can watch the sun set over the farmland and star gaze the unpolluted skies. The decking, patio and garden are all accessed directly from the lounge, double bedroom, bunk room and kitchen. There are windows (some original) on all four aspects of the chapel throwing shadows of the gothic windows on walls and ensuring this is a very light and airy accommodation.. Home comforts are provided for a comfortable stay, these include BT Vision TV, DVD player and a wide selection of DVDs, radio, CD player, docking station and CDs, free Wi-Fi access, children's and adult games and books. All linen, towels, heating and first basket of logs are included in the price.
Somewhere to recharge your batteries
By D Matthews on 13-Feb-2017
If you are looking for somewhere to relax and recharge your batteries this is the place. It has everything you need for a wonderful break all year round. From the moment we arrived it felt like home, warm, cosy and tastefully decorated with bags of character. The Aga and log fire is a great combination on a cold winters evening if you are not up to venturing out. The setting is stunning with views of the countryside but not too far from civilisation. We had a wonderful break and would definitely recommend this beautiful property for anyone looking for a 5 star break.

Far from the .....
We liked the location and the isolation. It was wonderfully peaceful with only country sounds. We liked the well maintained garden, the garden furniture and the many birds. We liked being able to eat in the garden. The chapel itself was comfortable and spacious. We loved the sun shining through the stained glass windows. The beds were nice. Both bathrooms have modern showers. We were lucky with the weather and spent hardly any time indoors during the day. The lounge was large, well furnished with views from the many windows. We had a great holiday.

Exceptional, enchanting, comfortable
By Matthew B on 25-Jan-2017
Stayed here over New Year with my wife and four children. Exceptional – This place has the wow factor. Exceptional accommodation with every detail right. Very decent, straightforward, honest and generous owners. Enchanting – Beautifully restored Chapel with great sensitivity to the buildings spiritual history. The building is the best place we have ever stayed to rest body mind and soul. It’s just a very special building and setting. The area is also wonderful. For us the perfect distance from civilisation if you want it, but cut off enough to feel like you really have escaped. Comfortable – The owner’s generosity of spirit really shines through. Every detail is well thought through. The Chapel is very well heated. The beds are very comfortable. The furnishing is very tasteful. The owners allow you to enjoy the place as if it is your own private escape. Really, we cannot fault anything. We will certainly be going back as soon as we are able.
wonderful stay in converted chapel
By Joanna L on 12-Oct-2016
The chapel is brilliantly converted to a cottage that fulfills all needs of the guest, It is spacious, well-equipped, lovely settled in a rural surrounding (close enough though to run errands without driving too far). Everything is of a very fine quality: the kitchen, linen and towels, comfy beds, a beautiful patio (and we were lucky enough to sit in the sun in October).
We had a wonderful holiday, the home was tatesfully decorated, very well equipped and the location was fantastic. My four year old enjoyed watching the tractor in the field, I myself enjoyed having a coffee in the morning on the decking while everyone slept in. Sallie was very quick to respond to any questions. If you have older children and a husband addicted to Wi-Fi please be patient and understand that the cottage is in the countryside so it is up and down though there are plenty of good books to read and jigsaws/board games. On the top lake there is a small park area for children to burn off steam which my 11, 9 and 4 year old enjoyed along with the ice-cream. We made a lot of memories.

This is our second stay at Bishops. You would not want for better holiday accommodation. It is clean, roomy, very private, which all add to a very relaxing holiday. Tom and Sallie, clearly have an eye fore detail, and want to make their guest's stay something really special. We love this place, and will not hesitate to book again. cannot recommend highly enough!!

Beautiful Holiday Home
By Anon on 16-Jul-2015
Can't praise this property enough. It was absolutely stunning, very clean, lovely location, facilties home from home and pure relaxing. The children didn't want to leave, we enjoyed it so much that we have already booked our 2nd holiday here. Sallie was very helpful and the scones and clotted cream were a lovely touch. Would recommend anyone to see for themselves how beautiful this chapel really is.

Bishops Chapel from the beginning of our stay to the end was just perfect,w with everything on hand that you could possibly require and so much more, it was tastefully decorated throughout with super detail, from the open fire to the comfy beds and the box full of games . A truly beautiful accommodation we are already planning to re-visit.
