Strand Cottage is ideally placed in the picturesque village of Burton Bradstock which nestles on the beautiful Dorset Jurassic Coast. It is within walking distance of 2 pubs and the village post office and shop, and the local beach with its acclaimed café is only a 15-minute stroll away. There is also a recreation field with a playground to keep younger guests occupied.

There are plenty of opportunities for adventure and exploration, or if you would prefer to relax and put your feet up, the cottage is cosy and comfortable and its enclosed south-facing garden, with distant views up to the Coastal Path, is a sun trap on fine days. Close by is the vibrant market town of Bridport and West Bay with its harbour and iconic cliffs which provided the backdrop to the TV drama Broadchurch. Within a short car journey are the historic towns of Lyme Regis, Dorchester and Weymouth which provide entertainment for all ages. The idyllic village of Abbotsbury with its unique micro-climate offers an attractive 20-acre subtropical garden as well as being home to the world’s only managed colony of mute swans and is only a short drive along the coast road with its magnificent views over the Fleet Lagoon, all the way down Chesil Beach to Portland.

It's not difficult see why this part of West Dorset is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as the scenery is simply stunning and there is no better place to appreciate it than from the top of Golden Cap, the highest point on the South Coast.

On the ground floor the cottage provides a sitting/dining-room with gas-fired stove set in an inglenook fireplace with seating for 4, a well-equipped kitchen with table and chairs, a utility room perfect for storing walking boots and a bathroom complete with roll-top bath and overhead shower.

Upstairs there are a king-sized double and twin rooms.

The cottage benefits from a front garden which sets it back from the road and its enclosed rear garden is the perfect spot for relaxing after a day at the beach with a chilled drink whilst the barbecue gets going, or for stargazing on a clear night whilst the distant waves crash on the beach.

Strand Cottage is gas centrally heated throughout.

There is wireless broadband, and Vodafone mobile coverage; all other mobile providers have limited coverage throughout the village.

Strand Cottage

Another lovely stay in Strand Cottage. We had everything we needed for the perfect short stay in this charming and stylishly arranged cottage. Once again, the owner was most helpful and provided us with all the information we need pre-stay. Don''t think we would ever tire of the beautiful garden with it''s wonderful views. We would recommend both local pubs for atmosphere and food.

We came for a one week holiday to Dorset, unluckily the weather was a bit unstable. This was more than compensated by a lovely accommodation where we felt at home immediately. The cottage is perfectly renovated and the equipment provided was far above our expectations. The absolutely quiet garden at the rear of the cottage is the perfect place for a drink when you come home in the afternoon.
