Strand Cottage is ideally placed in the picturesque village of Burton Bradstock which nestles on the beautiful Dorset Jurassic Coast. It is within walking distance of 2 pubs and the village post office and shop, and the local beach with its acclaimed café is only a 15-minute stroll away. There is also a recreation field with a playground to keep younger guests occupied.

There are plenty of opportunities for adventure and exploration, or if you would prefer to relax and put your feet up, the cottage is cosy and comfortable and its enclosed south-facing garden, with distant views up to the Coastal Path, is a sun trap on fine days. Close by is the vibrant market town of Bridport and West Bay with its harbour and iconic cliffs which provided the backdrop to the TV drama Broadchurch. Within a short car journey are the historic towns of Lyme Regis, Dorchester and Weymouth which provide entertainment for all ages. The idyllic village of Abbotsbury with its unique micro-climate offers an attractive 20-acre subtropical garden as well as being home to the world’s only managed colony of mute swans and is only a short drive along the coast road with its magnificent views over the Fleet Lagoon, all the way down Chesil Beach to Portland.

It's not difficult see why this part of West Dorset is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as the scenery is simply stunning and there is no better place to appreciate it than from the top of Golden Cap, the highest point on the South Coast.

On the ground floor the cottage provides a sitting/dining-room with gas-fired stove set in an inglenook fireplace with seating for 4, a well-equipped kitchen with table and chairs, a utility room perfect for storing walking boots and a bathroom complete with roll-top bath and overhead shower.

Upstairs there are a king-sized double and twin rooms.

The cottage benefits from a front garden which sets it back from the road and its enclosed rear garden is the perfect spot for relaxing after a day at the beach with a chilled drink whilst the barbecue gets going, or for stargazing on a clear night whilst the distant waves crash on the beach.

We have loved every minute of our stay at Strand Cottage. Kate made the whole experience stress free and she was very helpful with recommendations etc. The personal touches went a long way. The cottage is so cosy and spacious, the pictures don''t do it justice. The perfect family holiday!

We had a fantastic time at Strand Cottage. It''s beautiful and everything in the cottage feels like new! It was great to use the BBQ a couple of nights and take in the wonderful views from the garden. Burton Bradstock is charming with 2 lovely pubs and the Hive Beach Cafe just a stroll away. Would definitely come back.

Strand Cottage is clearly a labour of love. From the beautifully maintained garden to the spotless cottage full of thoughtful touches to enhance our stay, it truly is a home from home. The hosts have thought of everything we might have needed and we''ve been very comfortable here. The cottage is both spacious and cosy, with a very well-equipped kitchen and delightful garden with magnificent views. We will definitely come back!
