Description

Orchard Cabin is an open plan log cabin set in the orchard of the owners property. A tranquil, peaceful retreat for two. The property is on the Old Sherbourne Road, & sandwiched between the Wolfedale golf course and the fields of Charminster Village just two miles west of Hardy's historic Dorchester. 15 mins from Weymouth, 30 mins from Poole.
Charminster village is a hidden peaceful delight situated on the bank of the river Cerne - A wonderful walk, at any time of day, will take you via the little river to either of the village's two pubs, the golf club's Caddy shack or further west to the Cricket club of Charlton Down and on into the famous village of Cerne Abbas with their huge white Giant etched into the hillside. It's a great base for the Dorset show, The Hot air Balloon show, The Dorchester Liturgy week and exploring in the foot-steps of Hardy himself. The cliffs of Durdle Door and Old Harry's rock are a stone's throw away along with the Fossil beaches of the Jurassic coast.
A romantic four poster bed lies within the cabin. There is a shower room with w/c. A kitchenet with fridge and hob and ample storage for personal belongs. A large picture window overlooks the orchard - a great spot to sit, relax and watch the birds go about their business by day and then by night look deep into the sky for shooting stars under the fantastic canopy of moon and stars in our designated 'Dark Skies' area., keeping warm next to the Fire Pit, snuggled under a knee blanket.
Outside there are several seating areas - under the cabin's eves, by the fire-pit, in the secluded plant scented arbour or under the 'Big Tree' looking out to the golf
course beyond. The Wolfedale Golf course is just across the road.
Trainers, walking boots, Golf shoes and wellingtons are probably the order of the day.
Books, guides, board-games , knee blankets and candles are on hand for a cosy night a deux.
Although a small welcome pack is provided , A Food Hamper also is available to book at time of booking 48hrs ahead of arrival
Parking available for 1 car. This is a NON-SMOKING site, Over 21 years only and sorry,. NO PETS

Perfect little retreat.

A lovely cabin, beautifully appointed. A perfect space to enjoy outside in warm weather - but inside warm and cosy on the November night I stayed.

Thank you for your review, much appreciated. I'm so glad you stayed warm and dry on one of the stormiest and wettest nights of the year!
