Idyllic smallholding,

By Daniel Robinson on 20-Jul-2021

We will definitely return to Erik and Michele’s idyllic smallholding, even if this couple did almost turn us into vegetarians. Note the word “almost” though. Erik is the talkative one, Michele a little more reserved but they are both eager to share their love of their alpacas, goats, sheep, ducks and chickens. They know the names of all the animals who mostly come running when called - to a master and mistress they know will never send them to the knacker’s yard. It is not about watching the animals from afar, though. Breakfast time is more often than not spent half-eating fresh eggs and half feeding the goats. We also spent quite a while in the field with Erik cuddling the sheep. Now to the accommodation. The cottages have I think been going for 5 years but the reinvestment in the place is clear. More than that, it is all very tastefully done, possibly reflecting Erik’s Danish heritage, and all absolutely spotless. The cottages are ideally located for exploring cream tea heaven that is North Devon. A fab week!

Very relaxing surroundings in 5* accommodation

By Nicky Davies on 17-Jul-2021

Just back from a lovely weeks stay at Moorparks cottages. First time here and did not disappoint. Eric & Michelle were great hosts sharing their knowledge & experiences of life looking after animals. We learnt a lot about sheep & Alpacas and had a great morning hands on & feeding the animals. Nearly lost my belt & shoe laces to the naughty goats! Very relaxing surroundings in 5* accommodation . Would highly recommend & hope to be back. North Devon is a lovely area to explore.

Incredible views and a fantastic garden

By Nicky Betts on 10-Jul-2021

We had a relaxing four-night stay in the cottage at Moorparks. The cottage was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well-appointed with all the amenities you could need. The chicken and duck eggs on arrival were a lovely treat. The cottage had incredible views and a fantastic garden with table and chairs overlooking the animals. As others have commented, your neighbours are three very friendly and entertaining goats that you could easily watch all day long! Petting the sheep and lambs and feeding the alpacas with the host, Erik, was the highlight of our trip! It was a pleasure to be in Erik's company and see the passion he has for his animals. Thank you for a wonderful holiday in North Devon!
