If you need to unwind and totally switch off, Maesgwyn Holiday Lets offer the perfect break. At Maesgwyn it's all about the views. The setting provides the ideal opportunity to disconnect from the busy world, unwind, sit back and relax in the hot tub enjoying the unspoilt views by day or night. In addition, it provides an excellent base to explore Mid Wales and beyond. Take advantage of the many walks and cycle routes the countryside has to offer.

Masegwyn Holiday Lets offers farmhouse and converted barn getaways with private hot tubs overlooking the Welsh countryside. It is run by James and Lin and their family on their traditional Welsh hill farm at the foot of the Beacon Hill. The accommodation consists of a farmhouse and two converted barns that have been maintained and converted to a high standard. The properties sit close to the villages of Felindre, Beguildy and Llanbister, as well the River Teme, which winds across the Welsh/English border.

Our central location is ideal for friends and family gatherings, for reunions, special occasions or annual catch-ups or a break away from the city. Just 2 hours from Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester and four hours from London we are easy to reach from all over the country. Our central location also acts as an excellent base for exploring Mid Wales and further afield.

Maesgwyn farm is surrounded by beautiful, rolling countryside which is waiting to be explored. You can enjoy lovely walks from the doorstep around the farm, to Beguildy or along Glyndwr's Way or the nearby Kerry Ridgeway or Jack Mytton Way. An abundance of trails and cycle routes at Offa's Dyke provides fantastic views, and red kites can often be spotted. We also have a small fishing pool containing brown trout which you are welcome to fish but please return the fish to the water (after of course taking your celebratory photo!). No fishing equipment supplied.

The farmhouse boasts five spacious bedrooms, one en-suite, a generous family bathroom with roll-top bath, downstairs shower room and downstairs WC, providing spacious accommodation for the group. The barns offer a smaller alternative both with two bedrooms which sleep 4 or booked together sleep 8. For a very special occasion, book all three properties together to sleep a total of 18. One barn is also suitable for wheelchair users.

James and Llewelyn will be happy to talk endlessly to you about the farm. Many guests enjoy watching the dogs and bikes work the sheep on the opposite hills, with a glass of wine in hand. Our sheep lamb outdoors, so if you are visiting during March and April you may also get the opportunity to see lambs being born in the neighbouring fields. James would be happy to answer any questions you have about the farm.

1 beacon view barn

By Andy Jones on 04-Sep-2020

Thank you Lin & James!! Right from the off, the whole experience has been wonderful. Flowers, prosecco, eggs and doggy treats as a welcome. Thanks for the tips about where to go. Enjoyed Rhayader, Elan Valley, Aberystwyth and some of the bigger towns North.
Barn 1 comfortably slept four adults, our two year old & dog with plenty of room during our 7-night stay. Great facilities. Hot tub fully prepped and also topped up regularly throughout our time. BBQ also came in handy.
Views across the valley hugely relaxing and walks from the barn ideal for walking Ozzy. Highlight for our Ethan was being allowed up in your tractor whilst owning several miniatures.
We will be back for sure. Thank you guys.
Andy, Helen, Ethan & Ozzy xx

Just arrived back home after a great week away in this fabulous accommodation. Property is full of character and the surroundings are picturesque. I literally hit the reset button and the whole week was very relaxing. The hot tub provided many hours of fun for the adults and children. Lin the owner was great and communication via email / WhatsApp was spot on.
For sure we would return and will be making recommendations.
Thank you.

Beacon View Barn

We (2a2k+dog)have just returned from Beacon View and all I can say is we didn’t want to come home. So very peaceful, everything you need plus added gestures from lin the owner. You do feel like where are you heading especially in the dark however the property and it’s home comforts totally makes up for it. The dog loved it and the day trip to Elan valley is a must. We don’t usually return to places but after a few nights away soaking up the hot tub I would definitely say we will be back.❤️

Thank you to Lin and James, the extra touches, Fizz, flowers and eggs, really do make all the difference. If you are wanting a relaxing holiday in a beautiful location, this is the barn for you... plus...The views from the hot tub were spectacular!

Maesgwyn farmhouse

By Zena De Torres on 06-Feb-2018

We stayed here over Xmas 2017 and I have to say it was the best Xmas ever. The house is so amazing, the hot tub was so clean it was sparkling and the owners were so helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. They ended up pushing us on the country road in our van as we we got stuck in the snow. I can not recommend this place enough. I so hope we get chance to visit again. Thank you
