Seascape is a detached, fully insulated and double glazed bungalow. It is suitable for both summer and winter holidays, including Christmas. High on the cliff, it is only about 30 metres from the road. Free parking is available just a 3 minute walk away in Freathy Fields. Rebuilt in 1981, it has recently been modernised. It is well-equipped and has some interesting and attractive features making it feel like a real 'home from home'. An enclosed, mainly lawned garden surrounds the property and affords a choice of paved seating areas, making it ideal for relaxing whilst taking in the panoramic sea and coastal views towards the ancient fishing port of Looe in the west, and the Rame Peninsula in the east. Spectacular sunsets are also to be enjoyed. The garden gate opens onto a path down to the beach, which is just 5 minutes walk away. Inside, a stable door opens into hallway. There are 2 bedrooms, a lounge/dining room, a separate kitchen and a shower room with WC.

Comfy Cabin with everything you need at your fingertips. The garden and the view make this property and we had a fantastic week with very hot weather. The walk to the beach and back is very healthy for you!!! Neighbours are extremely helpful and informative. Nearest supermarket is Sainsburys at Torpoint - a 5 mile drive away. Loved the fact there are no shops nearby. Although there is no parking at the property, the parking space available is only a short walk across the road to the recreation field. This is our first holiday in 17 years where we had no rain!! Jill (the owner) is very helpful and available if needed. Our 2 dogs loved it especially the long beach walks. Hoping to make a return visit.

Stunning view

By Anonymous on 22-Jun-2018

The cottage was nice and clean, had everything you needed for your stay, only need your clothes and food.If was worth it just for the spectacular views, over looking the sandy beach and the sea of Whitsand Bay, a quiet unknown part of Cornwall. Beach was accessible by three steep paths each side of the cottage, and only once a day determined by tide times while we stayed a week. The weather was fantastic for the week, so good we ate outside admiring the views for breakfast and our evening meals every day, we also sat outside relaxing, chilling drinking wine into the sunset.Parking wasn’t to bad across the road in a field surrounded by holiday homes, found everybody was so friendly especially the next door neighbors, who live in the property most of the year, very helpful with local knowledge. The Cream Tea was a lovely touch which we enjoyed, homemade scones was especially good.Great for our dog as the outside area was totally enclosed and safe, he really enjoyed the holiday, as much as us, with long walks along the sandy beach and paddling in the rock pools. Shops was within a 5 mile drive with also places to eat what are dog friendly. Fully recommend it as a place to stay and we shall be returning again in the future.

Stunning Seascape

By on 09-Jun-2018

Beautifully clean and well-maintained chalet in an exceptional cliff top location. Can't fault it. Plenty of places to go and see if you chose, but we just stayed put. Sat in the sun loungers and gazed out over the sea. Absolutely perfect. If you did work up the energy the glorious sandy beach is just at the foot of the cliff path, and there are times of the day when you can go down there and have the place to yourself. Breath-taking.

I spent a few days a Seascape to chill out and relax and I certainly wasn't disappointed. The cottage is cosy and welcoming, including a lovely cream tea waiting for me. The views from the cottage are just amazing at any time of day and so relaxing just to look out of the window or sit in the garden. I took my dog Monty with me, he had never been on a beach before, it's such a great place if you do have a dog. Monty just loved running on an almost deserted beach although he wouldn't get his paws wet in the sea! Thank you Jill for letting me share you little piece of heaven for a few days. I certainly hope to return.

Owner's Response: So pleased you enjoyed it. Many guests have commented on what a relaxing place it is. It certainly is a wonderful place for dogs to run free. Our dog often refuses to go for walks at home, but when we're at Seascape she's always keen to go down to the beach! Hope you come back soon.

Great place for a break in the Winter and definitely amazing for a summer holiday. Beaches are awesome but you need to be nimble to get up and down the steep paths, granny wouldnt make it on her zimmer, but once she has abseiled down the cliff, then the location is awesome. Need to be aware of tide times as the beaches generally are under water at High Tide.
In the Winter there is a 2 hour sweet spot at Low Tide to walk from cove to cove, probably longer in the Summer months, but if you stay put in one cove then probably 4 to 6 hours before you get swept out and washed up in France (oooh la la). As the sea retreats it leaves amazing pools around some of the large rocks, these would be fantastic for kids in the summer, heated by the sun, individual pools. Sand is great, flat, clean, possibly always damp. The surf is amazing, 5 foot waves during our stay but that was with 50 mile hour winds. Water temperature was still about 12 degrees, so once in it felt good. Belly Boards, Kites, Sand Wind Carts, all would be fantastic here. There are a couple of nice Cafes just a 15 minute walk away, good facilities in Millbrook that is less than a 10 minute drive. Definitely recommend going to Cawsand and its ajoined neighbour of Kingsand, great Pasty shop in Cawsand, then if feeling energetic carry on walking around the coast to Cremyll and the grounds of Mount Edgcumbe House. There is a passenger ferry in Cremyll if you wish to go into Plymouth.
Looe is a fantastic place to visit with some great shops, small harbour of Polruan is also lovely and if you drive 5 minutes along the road from the bungalow and park by the Fort there is a cliff top walk to Portwrinkle which has a Cafe and Whitsand Bay Hotel. Definitely need a car to get about, but the bus runs right past the Bungalow and connects well to all the local villages. Good selection of Games and DVD's and Books as well as Wifi, so plenty to keep you entertained, if like ourselves it blows a hooley and Noah can be seen building his Ark on the beach! Dog friendly too, they cant escape the garden but still see through the glass screen and bark at the sea.
There is a Park and Green Football space for children within the Bungalows on the opposite side of the road, we played water polo on it and did a spot of wind surfing during our stay. Lovely hosts, very friendly, left us cherry scones, jam amd clotted cream for our arrival, delicious, dont know if everyone gets them, or just special people like us!!! Ha ha

Owner's Response: Thank you for such a comprehensive review! We don't tend to make enough of the fact that there is a delightful, large playing field with mini golf, tennis, football, wooden climbing frames etc on the opposite side of the road that makes a great alternative to the beach for children, so thanks for drawing attention to this. The tide does completely cover the beach at high water. In calm weather at any time of year, there is a good three hours around low water when you can walk freely along the beach. Hope you'll be back again in better weather!

We really enjoyed our stay, Jill & Roy really have thought about making their home welcoming for their guests, from supplying a cream tea on arrival down to DVD's and games for rainy days. Glorious views of the coast line whilst sitting out in the garden sipping a cool drink on sunny days. Jill checked made sure we arrived ok and was available if we needed any help. Thank you Jill & Roy, we hope to come back again.

Majestic Coziness

We pulled up to Seascape in the pouring rain and hoped the grim weather wasn't a negative foreshadow to our stay. Well, it wasn't. We got into the cottage quickly due to Jill's precise directions, and around six p.m. that first night, the skies cleared and the remainder of our time was sunny and happy. The cottage contained everything we needed to cook a few Indian dinners at home; the games and books were appreciated, and the beds were comfortable. We spent a few evenings out front and having the glass view fence made for perfect, unobstructed vistas. We are absolutely stymied at the sheer gorgeousness of this corner of Cornwall, and feel blessed to have picked Jill and Roy's cottage to stay in. Many thanks and cheers!

Owner's Response: Thank you! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay - especially as you'd come all the way from Arizona! We do try to make people feel welcome and enjoy a home from home, but with a spectacular view. We're always delighted when our guests are so happy with everything. Thank you so much for letting us know.

We are from mid Cornwall, I was born and have lived in Cornwall all my life but don't know this part of Cornwall at all. It really is the hidden/forgotten corner and I can't understand why?! It is simply stunning. Gorgeous lanes, cliffs, paths, wild flowers, spectacular views, nice cafes and pubs. Unlike our part of Cornwall the second homes don't dominate the landscape and are not pretentious. The house was small but perfectly formed with all we needed. We were able to cook a roast in the kitchen and the neighbours (also from our part of Cornwall but who travel up here most weekends) were able to lend us some flour when we realised we had forgotten to pack any and were so lovely and friendly and informative about the area. In fact I believe he drew the map of the bay you can find in the drawer in the living room. You can sit on the living room and listen to the waves and watch the surfers and dog walkers. The garden was perfect and felt really private, in fact when walking along the road we felt this was one of the most private gardens. Also it was dog proof which was a bonus, out little staffy has been so at home here and has spent a lot of time staring out to sea and occasionally barking off the seagulls! The paths down to the beach are steep but all good exercise. There is so much more we would have liked to have done and I think next time we will make sure we book for longer. I couldn't recommend a visit to this area and to this little house enough! Thanks Jill for enabling us to stay and sharing Sea Scape with others.
