Fantastic Stay In a Tranquil Location

By Dominic P. on 06-Jun-2018

We would highly recommend Kingfisher Cottage to anyone. It was the perfect place for a family of five to spend a week in the South Hams. The cottage is beautifully furnished and spacious. The kitchen has everything you could need. Our three kids, all under ten, loved being able to safely ride their bikes in the grounds. It's also in a great location for Dartmouth, Salcombe, Kingsbridge and the best beaches. We hope to be back soon.

Terrific Cottage lots of space and well equipped

By Chris L on 22-May-2018

Fantastic gem in the depths of the Devon countryside not far from Kingsbridge.

Very well appointed and lots of space- would suggest you buy a local Ordnance Survey Map as sat nav will get easily confused taking you on fun but less than direct drives through the wonderful sunken lanes of Devon. Best curry ever from Maha-Bharat in Kingsbridge- had take away as hadn't booked and was rammed even early evening. Great dog walks with many footpaths- Beesands has lovely walks and stunning seafood shack ( need to book for evening ) try their fishermans Breakfast will keep you going for hours!

Homely cottage in peaceful location

By Rhiannon P on 15-Apr-2018

We had a lovely stay at Kingfisher Cottage just before Easter; the weather wasn't great which made having a fantastically well equipped cosy cottage all the more important!

The cottage was spotless when we arrived, the kitchen had all you'd need and the sitting room was cosy with the woodburner. There were plenty of DVDs and our son also enjoyed the toys provided. Bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs were all nicely furnished and comfortable.

The location was very peaceful but only 15/20min from Kingsbridge for shops and then 10 min to Slapton Sands.

During the booking process and afterwards dealing with items that we'd left behind James the owner was very helpful.

Great place and we would recommend.

Large modern, comfy, cosy and traditional!

By Usha J. on 22-Feb-2018

You can't help but feel relaxed as you enter this cottage, but it is much larger than a cottage, large rooms, high ceilings, light and airy but comfy and cosy as well. There are lots of nice decorative touches. comfy sofas and beds to relax in, toys for the children, outside space to sit in, which is fenced so that children and dogs can be kept safe. Lots of wood for the wood burner, spacious kitchen and bathrooms and lots of hot water. Very handy for Dartmouth, KIngsbridge and Salcombe. We felt our cares and stresses float away.

Stunning Spacious property

By Lucy U. on 04-Jan-2018

Had a Brilliant stay at this lovely and spacious property. Our favourite part was the log burner which gave it a warm, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The property was fabulously equipped with the Christmas tree and bottle of fizz a lovely addition. A great selection of DVDs and games kept us entertained for the whole stay. It was lovely to be able to walk the dogs in the beautiful surrounding area, what a great and relaxing stay it was!

Hidden gem in a great location

By Charly P on 28-Oct-2017

Such a great property, well equipped, well located, comfortable and cosy. We went as a family with ages from 12-70 yrs and 2 dogs. We found some amazing beaches to walk the dogs, Beesands had the best fish and chips and we even saw a seal one day. Local to Salcombe, kingsbridge and many more. The cottage is just what we needed and there were some excellent pubs for food and farm shops to get food to eat in.

I would recommend it but I don't want anyone to find out about this great find!!!

Perfect cottage for exploring South Devon

By Simon P on 14-Aug-2017

Peaceful well appointed cottage in a very lovely area of South Devon. Great base to be able to explore the area, as long as you don't mind narrow lanes. Great beaches and restaurants nearby.

A hidden gem in the heart of the countryside

By Jonshi West Lulworth on 19-Apr-2017

Kingfisher Cottage was a very pleasant surprise. A beautiful cottage. Large living space which is ideal for families or small groups. Everything in the cottage was of very good quality and was designed for both comfort and elegance. The place was spotlessly clean and very welcoming. The owners allow dogs but you would not have guessed on arrival. We had a perfect weekend.

Excellent property in Devon's beautiful South Hams

By Stephen B on 24-Sep-2016

Kingfisher Cottage is spacious, clean and well appointed with good quality fixtures and fittings. Wi-Fi is provided and there is a good selection of DVD’s and books for any days the weather might mean taking it easy at the cottage.
It is one of a few properties in a small, secluded and pretty spot called Valley Springs and a little off the beaten track, which adds to its charm as it is nicely quiet. The two resident families we met were friendly and welcoming.
For anyone unfamiliar with Devon lanes the routes to/from main roads are mostly single track with passing places, which also adds to the charm of the area. However, many of the attractions of Devon’s South Hams (too many to mention) are easily reached but own transport is essential.
We would definitely be happy to spend more time at this excellent property.

Beautiful Cottage

By Craig W on 15-Aug-2016

Excellent cottage in a wonderful location, truly the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere but only a short drive from many of the excellent beaches, towns and restaurants in the South Hams. The property was great, very spacious, clean, well appointed and excellent kitchen and living area. Would recommend eating at both the Tower Inn and Crabshell Inn, and visiting Blackpool Sands, Slapton and Beesands. We also had nurmerous trips into Kingsbridge aswell as Salcombe, and up to Becky Falls in Dartmoor. All in all, a fantastic cottage and a fantastic holiday, certainly will come back!

Kingfisher cottage - beautiful, with lovely garden and a great base for touring South Hams

By Carl S on 04-Aug-2016

5 adults + grandchild + dog stayed for a week late July 2016. A great cottage, spacious accommodation, and the Prosecco waiting for us upon arrival was most welcome - thank you. Kitchen very well equipped (Miele and Bosch white goods - quality theme), roomy dining room and lounge. Bedrooms good size and with comfortable beds and pillows. New BBQ outside which came in very useful. Neighbours very friendly and gave us helpful local information. Couple of minor points that the owner is aware of, but not worth a mention here.

Would recommend Kingfisher cottage to any family wishing a great stay in a beautiful part of Devon

Excellent and friendly service

By Simon C on 24-May-2016

Five of us stayed for a week in early May and enjoyed the area and the cottage equally - the standard of accommodation was excellent (and bear in mind four of us are Swiss, and Swiss hospitality standards are exacting) and the neighbours are extremely friendly and helpful. All in all we felt we enjoyed very good value, and will be recommending Kingfisher Cottage to our friends.

Christmas at Kingfisher Cottage

By Catherine C. on 03-Jan-2016

Excellent accommodation with a large well furnished and comfortable lounge. Also a spacious open plan well equipped kitchen diner. Superb main bedroom with a double bed, single bed and ensuite. 2 further good size bedrooms and main bathroom. The property is furnished to a high standard throughout and is very clean and well maintained. Very warm and cosy with central heating and a wood burning stove in the lounge. Plenty of space for 5 adults and 2 children. The cottage has ample parking and the garden and pond are just delightful. A very positive owner who provided an excellent service from the booking stage right through to our departure. Wonderful countryside location and only a short drive to the coast and sandy beaches and also Totnes, Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Dartmouth. Would like to visit again in the summer and would definitely recommend Kingfisher Cottage to our friends and relatives.
