Lymington provides an ideal base for exploring the New Forest and the Isle of Wight, and is a comfortable haven to return to at the end of the day. Spend long, lazy days on the extensive roof terrace, a glorious sun trap, with some shade in the afternoon, when you just want peace and quiet. Morning coffee is so relaxing out here too. It is a very tranquil spot with stunning views over the Solent to the Isle of Wight. The town itself provides all the facilities you would expect of a bustling holiday destination, but within a five minute drive you can be out in the forest enjoying some of the best walking the country has to offer. Or, why not leave the car behind and take the open top bus tour which starts right outside the apartment, you can hop on and off all day and visit places such as Beaulieu (the motor museum and Abbey), Burley or Brockenhurst. Wildlife galore and dappled shade on hot summer days.

The best beaches can be found at Keyhaven and Milford on Sea, or try Mudeford quay for authentic fishing atmosphere - and food. If you want to venture further, try the magnificent Hengistbury Head, the beach here stretches for miles and links up to Southbourne and Bournemouth. Ideal if you want a flat cycle trip.

Exceptional

By Gary on 22-Aug-2018

We didn't find anything that we disliked. 눇Great apartment with everything you need while away from home. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy and well organised. Ideal location for exploring the New Forest area and conveniently located for shops and places to eat. The apartment is situated above shops on a high street but there is a private parking space in a secure gated area to the rear of the property and we had no problem with travelling to and from the apartment. We had an excellent 2 week stay there and it is a lovely little home from home that I can highly recommend. Stayed in August 2018

First Class in Every Way

By Andrew A on 16-May-2016

Andrew H Absolutely first class in every way Left on May 16, 2016 for a stay in May 2016 To say our stay at Island View in Lymington was enjoyable is an understatement! This light and airy split-level apartment is a stunning mix of traditional (large sash windows and the cosiness of the place) mixed with contemporary fixtures and fittings of a very high standard. Everything about the place oozes quality, and you can tell that every little detail and piece of furniture has been thoughtfully purchased and placed there to be just right. My friend and I were looking for a relaxed few days away exploring the New Forest area, and Island View provided the perfect base for exactly that. We actually felt slightly disappointed when we were out and about, in that we were missing out on time in the property! The secure gates and easy access to the property from Lymington High Street were a real bonus too, excellent instructions given for locating it and also various information such as the WiFi, facilities and insutructions for everything. The view over to the Solent and the Isle of Wight from the rear of the property is also very pleasant. The beds were comfy, there's loads of quality bedroom storage, the stunning television great, and the kitchen has everything I could think you'd wish for when cooking and living there (washing machine, dishwasher etc and tablets are provided too – nice touch). Other thoughtful touches were things like milk in the fridge when we got there, plus some very nice biscuits! Quality towels and toiletries also provided. It is a very light apartment and there's both blinds and curtains on the windows to keep the light to a minimum when sleeping. The front bedroom gets some noise from the High Street (due to the traditional sash windows), notably on the Saturday morning when we were there when the local market starts early, but this wasn't an issue. There's a great book on the bookshelf called 'Secret Lymington', written and illustrated by a local writer/artist – this was really useful in finding some hidden gems around the area such as Buckland Rings, Roydon Woods and a fantastic walk over the local coastal nature reserve to Hurst Spit and Castle, overlooking the Isle of Wight. It really is a proper 'home from home' and the only drawback was having to leave the place! Really could not recommend this place highly enough. A credit to the owners. Thank you. Would like to visit again soon.
